History:
As a foal, Aura lost her parents in a forest fire caused by some clumsy humans that had set up a campsite nearby. Luckily, Spirit’s herd was nearby and rushed to see what was going on. Once the situation was discovered, Spirit and his horses did the best they could to lead horses out of the burning brush. However, Aura’s parents were caught under a tree that had fallen, and they burned alive.
Aura didn’t understand what had happened, for she was very young. However, Spirit welcomed Aura into his herd, along with some of the other survivors of the fire. Esperenza, Spirit’s mother, took Aura in and raised her in place of Aura’s deceased parents.
Aura grew up with the palomino mare, and grew to love her just as much as Spirit. She was there for Esperenza when Spirit left to see what the humans were doing, and never returned. She was also there to see Spirit finally return to his family.
Aura hung around Esperenza a lot, for she was shy, and didn’t feel like she fit in with the herd. However, when Spirit returned with a new pinto mare, she was determined to make a new friend.
Luckily for her, Spirit introduced Rain to his mother and step-sister, and they hit it off. Aura and Rain became great friends, and often would wander off on their own to talk or play.
