A young Spanish Mustang mare lived within the Cimarron herd before Spirit came to lead it. She was a pretty young thing and many stallions were caught by her, Several tried to take her away from the herd, none really succeeded except for one. He was a strapping stallion with a heart made of gold. Night after night, he came until he convinced the young mare to leave with him. And that is exactly what they did, in the middle of the night they were gone with out a trace.
Shortly after, they started their own little family. The mare gave birth to a small fleabitten filly, whom they protected with their lives. Her mother named her daughter, Catalina, becasue she gave birth to her young in pure white snow, naming her daughter after the pure substances that surrounded them. Catalina was off causing trouble within the first couple of days, following her father every where as her mother stayed at their home and relaxed.
Around her 3 year of life, her father passed away, and her mother was beginning to lose her life also. Fearing losing her only parent, she helped her mother along, searching for a bigger herd of horses to keep her and her mother safe. After days of searching, she ran into the herd that her mother use to call home. The old palomino mare, recongized the older mare and quickly took them in explaining to her son that they had to make space for them into their home.
After beginning accepted with open arms, Catalina worked along with Esperanza to bring her mother back to health. She soon became very attached to those in the herd, soon earning a permanent spot within the safety of the herd. Although she is now becoming a target for many rouge stallions, some coming close in taking the small mare away.
Relation to Spirit: Her mother was in his herd once before leaving, now her and her mother live within the herd again.
