When the herd leader, Strider died, his mate, Esperanza was pregnant and very upset, crying and crying. Everyone just gave her space except for Azra. Azra went over to Esperanza and started to comfort her. Esperanza looked up at the young filly and smiled when Azra told her not to cry, that Strider would never be completely gone, but he would be with her in her heart. From that day on, Esperanza and Azra were friends. When Spirit was born, Azra was delighted to have a new friend to play with. The two young foals grew into good friends but as they aged, the two grew apart.
