Bio:

Red Rum was actually born on a farm in northern Montana. He was there for the first year of his life with his Sire and Dam, being taken care of by the farmer and his wife. When Red was only a little over a year old, a fire caught in the house, most likely from the stove. The farmer and his wife were in the house, sound asleep, completely unaware of the catastrophy taking place just below them. It didn't take long before the fire hit a gas pipe, and the entire house burst into flames. Red and his family were awoken with a startle, jogging outside from there lean to to see what the commotion was. They found the house in flames, only a few yards from where there paddock was. The farmer and his wife didn't make it out, and the flames were raging, making there way slowly to the pen.  His dam and sire were furiously trying to find a way out, until there last resort was to jump the fence. His dam went over first, as it was a small fence and easy to make it over. His sire stayed back, urging Red to jump over, but he was afraid it was too high for him, as he was only a yearling. He had to hurry though, and there wasn't much time left. His sire pushed and pushed him, and finally, Red took the fence, his knee skidding across the top of it, and he fell to the other side. It hurt, but he and his family were free. His sire took the fence right after, and they ran to safety together, looking back and seeing there home burning to the ground.
