History
Moonshine was born on a farm a little ways from the Calvary. As a filly, she showed potential in being a great horse someday. She was sweet, tender, and caring, unlike most of the foals born at the ranch. She was favored among the ranch owners, and they decided to keep her for a riding horse.
Moon was raised on the stories of fierce wild horses who roamed the land, free as the wind itself. She was absolutely fascinated with these horses, but was told that they were viscous, and would kill you with cold blood. Moonshine believed this, but still wanted to learn about the horses in the stories.
As a yearling, she and the other foals would play wild horses, fighting off imaginary cougars, and protecting the herd. Often enough, they would get yelled at for such foolishness.
One day, more of the humans came to the farm, and started taking the other foals away. Moon was left alone on the farm, with the other mares and stallions. She was very lonely, and sometimes, she would be found gazing out at the valleys, wishing that she could be like them.
One Summer evening, a stallion was brought to the farm. He was...different from other horses, often lashing out at anyone who tried talking to him. Moon was now five years old now, and had grown very beautiful. She was interested in why this stallion was so aggressive, and decided to find out.
She tried talking to the stallion, who practically ignored her. She soon became fed up with his attitude. She lost her temper, and yelled at him. He was taken aback by this, and found some respect for the mare. She was the first to have gotten through to him.
He confessed he was from the wild. Moon went crazy, firing all kinds off questions at him. He answered each one with patience, something he hasn't shown towards any other horse. A few weeks passed, and Moon had started to take a liking to the stallion. Although he wasn't the friendliest of horses, he was better than no one.
The other horses warned Moon that he could be dangerous, and not to trust him. Moon didn't listen, and her feelings grew for the stallion. She tried showing him that humans were okay, but he wouldn't listen. He was very aggressive towards them, often snapping at them, or kicking out at them. This resulted in a very tragic event in Moon's life.
One day, while a human was trying to bring feed to his pen, the stallion rushed at him, and trampled him. A few men tried to distract the stallion, but he paid no attention to them. They ended up shooting him, and killed him.
Moon fell into a deep depression after that. The other horses felt bad for her, and tried cheering her up, but she stayed silent, not wanting to talk about it.
Then, one day, without notice, she started talking again. The old Moonshine was back. But not for long. Because shortly after, she vanished from the farm. She had broken free, and was never going back. The first being she met while out on her own was the Eagle, who she found very wise and helpful.
He showed her how to find food, and fight off predators, even defend herself against stallions. He advised she should find a herd, but she was still a bit leery about wild horses. She told him she would be fine on her own for now. He warned her about some of the predators in the area, and with that, he was off.
A few months had passed, and Moon had adjusted to the wild. She was ready to find a herd to join, and maybe find a stallion of her own...
(More to come when she finds a herd and/or that special someone. x3 )
