history:
(writing fanfiction for him probs)
The Redwood Herd wasn't something I was proud being apart of. It was something I was forced into at the day of birth. My step-father thrived; craved on causing others fear. Being in power. Being dominant. He was heartless. But I respected him, I had to. I followed his orders, more like obeyed. I've done things that i'm not proud of, things that will always be in the back of my mind and will never wash away from my memory. I feel a great amount of fear most of the time, because of what i've done, what I might have to do next.
My step-father, Clay, was most certainly a dictator. A tyrant. He terrorized the local herds around him, which kept everyone distant with eachother. He never hurt any of the local herds unless there was a reason, but he craved on knowing that they feared him; us. I couldn't make friends with anybody else because of this and I had become lonely. Well... after my best friend's death, I had no one. Clay had a strong beef with another lead stallion named Strider, who'd I had never met or even knew the reason they were so snappy at eachother.
Only shoulder I had left to lean on was another herd member named Chibs. He was Scottish, God only knows how he got here in the first place. He wasn't exactly Clay's right hand or "soldier" I guess you could call him, either. He stayed low and watched out for me most of the time. He was an older stallion. He was the father figure I never had.
At a young age I lost my little brother from a sickness, causing my mother, Gemma, to become distant. My mother grew closer to Clay as time went by, my father, John, noticing it aswell. He had been the leader. The one who started all this. And when it started, it was nothing like it was now. It was just another herd. But once my father was murdered just a month after my brother's death, Clay took lead. Gemma by his side. I was too young to actually think something was suspicious about this. But once I grew older, I thought back on it and it caused me to lash out on my mother and Clay. Clay and I had a brawl that one night. Causing tension between the two of us afterwards.
I asked Chibs about this history, and I was given the truth. Clay killed my old man under my mother's orders. Feeling betrayed, tired of the endless drama and violence, I fled. I said goodbye to Chibs that night who met me just at the border of where our territory ended. I knew this wouldn't be the last time I would be seeing him. And then I left.
It wasn't long before everyone else found out and Clay sent others after me. I wasn't that well of a hider apparently, and was cornered in the middle of nowhere and roughed up pretty badly. I continued to move on though, in excruciating pain - but I did it. I began to get weaker though from blood loss and the last thing I remember from that day was everything going blurry then black.
I awoke in an unfamiliar place and panicked as soon as my eyes had opened until I saw a mare, brown and white, flowing bleach blonde mane and blue eyes peering down at me curiously. Some type of material - skin - wrapped around certain parts of me, covering my wounds and I was so confused. By everything and what was happening and who the hell was this chick staring at me?
She eventually got me to relax and introduced herself as Rain. I was in Indian territory under the care of humans and I didn't know whether to be raged about it or accept that fact. I accepted it. And it wasn't long before this place became my new home - the family I had never really had. Rain being the sisterly or motherly figure in my life. Me and her became close, her introducing me to one of her friend's - Tara. Tara and I hit it off really quickly, spending countless hours together and it took me to finally get the fact that I was in love with her. She was the only mare I wanted. And so, I started a family with her - Abel being born.
My past, with just my luck, came back to bite me in the rear during that time. Abel was only five months, wasn't around this situation but Clay and his little clan came to confront me - or taunt me. He found out about Tara and Abel, telling me how disappointed my mother would be to not be able to know her own grandson. I attacked Clay, Rain being the one to throw me off of his limp body. I fled in anger - not answering to anyone calling after me and spent the rest of the night somewhere else.
Gemma, my mother, began coming around just to mess with Tara without me knowing at first. Rain had chased her off a few times until Tara finally told me. I confronted Gemma - insulting her harshly and demanding her to stop. Gemma played innocent though, and before I could make any other move - Tara was murdered a week later. I seek revenge, all I see is red. I'm too drained to fight right now though - my son is my biggest responsibility.
