Personality: Happy-go-Lucky, very full of energy, always trying to stay positive, very trustworthy, and humble. Jacob loves to hunt, for the joy of getting to chase his prey and the thrill of the run. He's always made it very important that he keeps all promises he makes, and to never give up when things get tough, to find a way.

Relation to Spirit: He has been chased by Spirit from the Cimarron Herd many times when he gets to close, and was nearly shot after he was found sleeping in an empty stall in the Calvary camp.

Bio: Jacob was born in the caves along the far end of the valley. He was born into a litter of three cubs, his mother and father had been very cheerful when he had first seen their smiling faces. This was the image of his parents that Jacob wish he remembered the most, but it wasn't. Jacob and his brother and sister were born in the middle of winter, making it very difficult for young animals to survive. Jacob had grown to like playing with his siblings. They were always cheerful, just like his parents. But one day when his mother was laying with him and his brother and sister, and his father was out hunting, Jacob's sister began to act very strange... Whenever she would try to play with them, she would sneeze. Her nose was really cold, and her fur looked as if it were wet. She would cry out whenever Jacob and his brother played gently with her, and whenever she gave a blow she would bite down really viciously, and their mother would have to yank her off of them. Jacob didn't understand why this was happening but knew it couldn't be good.

That was how it started. Soon Jacob's mother and father's smiles had become worried frowns. And Jacob and his brother weren't alound to play with their sister anymore. Their mother told them it was because she was really sick, and needed to get well. She assured them that their sister would get better, but something about the way she said it, wasn't so reassuring to Jacob. His mother would lie with their sister all day, and his father was hunting more often. As if Jacob weren't upset enough, days later while he was playing with his brother, his brother had tackled him to the ground and began biting hard on his shoulders. At this point it was no longer fun for Jacob so he told his brother that he gave up, But his brother wouldn't allow him to get up for one second. Jacob cried out now, forcing him away and running for the safety of his father who was observing them from a distance. When his brother had caught up, he was too tired and weakened to try anything and fell to the ground. Jacob ran to him and tried nudging him up with his nose, and when he felt his brother's nose against his own, his eyes went wide with horror and realization. His brother's nose was so cold.

This was the worst thing Jacob could have imagined! His brother and sister were now really sick, they couldn't play anymore, and they were not themselves anymore. His mother and father had stopped smiling, and Jacob was so terrified. But that wasn't even the most aweful thing that had happened to him. A couple days later, his father left the caves to try and find a large enough kill to feed his family. But it was winter and hunting was very difficult. Jacob watched his father go, and his mother's worried glance. Jacob was only a cub and couldn't fathom the whole mess his family was in right now, it just wasn't fair! Hours and hours had passed and Jacob's father still hadn't returned... His mother became really worried at this point, her cubs were dying right in front of her! They needed food right away! So she made a decision to go and try to hunt something herself. She nuzzled Jacob, and exited the cave. Jacob curled a aways apart from his siblings worriedly shutting his eyes resting for a moment. 

He awoke to the cries of his sister. He would never forget the sounds she made... They were the scariest thing Jacob would ever hear in his lifetime. He jumped to his paws and ran to her side; she looked twisted and she clawed the ground in pain her tears wetting her fur. Jacob cried out to her not knowing what to do, and just pleading that a miracle would happen. His brother mewled at his sisters cries, nudging her with his nose. Jacob ran to the edge of the cave, and tried to roar out for help, but was only a cub and couldn't make much noise. within a minute, Jacob's sister had stopped crying. But not because she had gotton better... When Jacob approched her she was limp on the ground, her eyes were shot open and glazed over, and her stomach had stopped rising and falling. Jacob let out a loud cry tears running down his cheeks, as he pressed his head against her side. His brother cried along with him till a few minutes later when his brother started crying louder. Jacob turned to him realizing he had to say something to comfort his brother. But as he started talking to him, Jacob realized that his brother was no longer crying at his sister's death, but at the agonizingly painful feeling that suddenly washed over him. Jacob's eyes filled with tears again, Not his brother too! He pawed his brother's side begging him to not leave him, to stay ALIVE! But Just as his sister, within a few minutes his brother lie limp with his sister both gone from the world forever.
