Related to Spirit: Eden was a horse in the Calvary and had some run ins with Spirit, whom had left a small scar on his face from a fight.
History: Eden wasn’t the fastest horse in the calvay but he was certainly the most loyal. If his rider had fallen off in battle he would immediately return to his side. It’s how he was brought up. Eden had seen many battles between the humans in his time in the calvary; he had seen many of his fellow horses perish in wars. He could not weep for them; he had to remain strong so he could survive.
One gruesome battle Eden was fully alert and ready, as the battle went on a native had jumped in front of him attempting to stab his rider with a spear, missing and stabbing Eden in his side. Eden fell and desperately cried out for help. His rider had taken off to fight leaving Eden all alone, the horse had blacked out for sometime from the blinding pain in his side and when he awoke the air was heavy with smoke. He cried out for anyone to help him. His rider approached him and looked at Eden’s injury, the wound was not deep and he could have easily recovered, but instead his rider pulled out his revolver and shot the down horse in the shoulder in an attempt to end Eden’s pain and suffering. The bullet never reached the horses heart, the bullet was instead stuck deep within his muscle. In shock the horse had passed out, he laid in the field for what seemed like days till he came to. When he did he had noticed that the spear had been removed and the wound stitched closed and that he had a rope tied around his neck. A few of the natives had found the stallion fighting to stay alive despite his injuries and had cared for him. Three of the natives stayed to watch over him as he regained his strength.
Years had passed since the incident and Eden had made a full recovery, the natives released him into the wild to live the rest of his days free. Eden’s body was riddled in scars from brutal fights with other stallions. He had a nasty run in with the dun stallion named Spirit, who had left a scar on his face. Eden had a small group of mares of his own at quite the manageable size for him. But he only loved one mare, a mahogany bay mare named Remi. Together they had a daughter them named Quil and lived happily in their homeland. Sadly the happiness did not last long, when Quil had become a yearling, Remi, was killed by a cougar. Eden fell apart, after her death he had simply given up. His heart breaking was more painful then any other wound he had felt over the years. The only purpose he had to keep living was to care for their daughter. Quil had to care for Eden the first few months after Remi’s death, making sure he was eating and drinking. Eden felt terrible that his own daughter had to watch over him like a new born foal, but she had every reason to do so.
Eventually Eden had begun to heal thanks to Quil’s love. He started watching over his heard again and trying to keep them all safe. He had some younger males in his herd to help protect the heard, one of them named Cheveyo, a stallion from an Indian tribe and now Eden’s best friend. All was usually quiet in the herd until an unexpected visitor had arrived one day, a mare around the same age as Quil had appeared wanting to stay with the herd. At first Eden saw no harm in it, but the mare had become meddlesome and an annoyance to him. She would flirt with him and try and get her to chase after her, but he simply just stopped acknowledging her. He noticed she didn’t take to kindly to this and would bring stray horses back with her. Some he let stay and others he chased off. The old stallion was finding it hard to keep up with his herd at times, but with the help of Quil and his friends he continues to push on and keep strong.
