My first horse on Spirit Source, was originally from a RPG called ‘Cimarron Island’, but I brought him here and did major edits to him, even to his look. Hope you like him! Dare Devil- Leo is a huge dare devil, doing things many horses would not dare to do. He loves to jump things that look impossible, he also loves to annoy the Indian tribes around the area and also loves to annoy any Calvary men out of the fort, often making them give chance after him. He also likes to annoy Herd Stallions much stronger and tougher than him, and it is a mystery how he escapes without a single wound a lot of the time.

Hot Headed- He is very hot headed and has a horrid temper, although it is hard to activate this side of him, it is not impossible, and once you get him mad, you will wish never to do it again.

Calm- Leonardo is pretty calm and `chill’ most of the time, he keeps to himself and keeps his cool, not often starting anything with anyone else unless he is completely and utterly bored, which, for him, doesn’t happen very often.

Wild- Leo has a very playful side, although he only shows it around horses he feels comfortable with. When he does get into this mood, he often acts like a young colt and prances around, acting like he is the most amazing male on the land. He also can get crazy and loves to run around, acting weird and very immature for his age.

Flirter- All stallions have their weaknesses, and Leo’s is the mares and fillies. He loves to flirt with the mares or fillies he meets, not caring if they are of a herd and belong to a Stallion, or not. He is also known by Herd Stallions to fool mares/fillies to leave their herd and follow him, where he will flirt with them and then, if they are in heat, get them pregnant, although he is known to not stay with the mare/filly after he has got whatever he wants; a breeding, a good flirting, etc.

Grudge Holder- Leonardo is a horrible grudge holder, not letting go of a grudge for a long space of time, sometimes up to a month or longer, and he often tries to get revenge on ones he holds grudges against, and this doesn’t help, often making enemies out of him and the creature he holds the grudge against.

Kind- Even with all his downing personalities, Leonardo can be quite kind and caring, but it is not often shown to others unless they are very close to him.

Loyal- Leonardo is a very un-trustworthy horse, after what his real father did to his mother, then Spirit chasing him and his mother out, and then being chased out of the Tall Grass Herd by Vickness for being too old of a stallion for the herd. He doesn’t like to trust anyone and it is hard to get his trust, but once you do, you can become friends with him and he will become horribly loyal, even risking his own life to protect yours.

Stubborn- Leo is very stubborn, not often does he listen, he likes to do things his way, and only his way.

Smart Mouth- Leonardo has a very smart mouth, and this makes him very hard to get along with a lot of the time. This also gets him in trouble with not so friendly horses, and he is often making enemies because of his smart mouthing to others.

History; Before Birth // After Birth // Foal Weeks // Colt Months (2 year old) // Now!

Before Birth- Wisp was a mare of the Cimarron Herd, she was a beautiful brown bay color, with two small Smokey black stockings on her back legs, one white stocking on her left foreleg, and a white muzzle. She had beautiful brown eyes and was well known in the herd. Many looked up to her, saying that she was a great mare and they wanted their foals to pick Wisp as their ‘Role-Model’. She was well respected and loved her life in the herd with Spirit as the Lead Stallion and Rain as his lead Mare. Everything seemed perfect to her, until one day. It was spring and mares and fillies were going into their heating cycle. Stallion tempers flared as Bachelors fought to steal mares and Herd Stallions fought to protect their mares and fillies from both Bachelors and other greedy Herd Stallions, who wanted to expand their numbers with outsiders. Being 5 years old, Wisp was used to this drama be now, but she still found it frightening, to see so much blood spilled in the season. Spirit though, managed to lead his Herd away from the chaos and up to higher land, where they grazed and Spirit did as he wished with his mares and fillies, which was either breeding with them himself or offering them to another stallion. Most other stallions in the herd were the sons of Spirit and the Lead Stallion let them stay, but others were Bachelors that had somehow convinced Spirit into letting them stay. Well, as Wisp grazed, she felt like she was being watched from two different directions, one, she knew was Spirit’s, as the Lead Stallion had once said that he would love to have an offspring with her, and the other… She didn’t know. She lifted her head to look around and soon spotted a shadow of a horse in the brush, she felt alarm prick at her, and her first instinct was to run to Spirit and tell him of the hidden equine, but she couldn’t beat her curiosity and found herself wondering over to the mystery horse. She quickly realized it was a pure white bachelor stallion, but instead of feeling the need to flee, she only felt more entranced in him. Wisp ended up running farther off with the white stallion, and after a bit of nasty flirting, the stallion bred with her. He had promised Wisp he would stay with her and they could create a new herd, but his words were all lies, as after he got what he wanted, he bolted, leaving Wisp shocked and hurt… In her misery, she returned to the herd, and at once, was confronted by Spirit, who smelt the Bachelor’s scent all over her. He was furious and almost chased her out, but at the last second, decided she could stay, but he never talked to her again, and just ignored her.

After Birth- When Leonardo was born, his mother tried to keep him away from the herd as much as possible, not wanting her son to be treated as badly as she had been in her pregnancy time. She tried to keep her son a secret, but Spirit found out fairly quickly. The Lead Stallion had hoped that the offspring would look more like Wisp than the other stallion, and then Spirit could pull off the offspring was his, but on seeing Leonardo, he knew that would never work, in rage, he chased Wisp and the foal out of his herd, yelling after them to never return.

Foal Weeks- Leonardo had a rough foal-hood. He and his mother was constantly on the move, trying to stay one step ahead of predators, unfriendly equines, and humans. More than once, Leonardo fell sick and once, almost died from a sickness, but the stubborn foal struggled through and somehow survived. Leonardo didn’t have time to play and mess around like other foals. Instead of looking for play mates, Leo was looking out for threats. He often remembered hiding in tall clumps of grass while his mother grazed, trying to stay as hidden as possible, which was hard with his white coat. When things looked like they couldn’t get any worse, they did. A pack of gray wolves started stalking the foal and mother, making Wisp and her foal keep moving even more than usual. After a long while of trying to stay ahead of the pack, they thought they lost them, and slowed their pace. Then one night, as they rested, the wolves came out of nowhere, attacking him and his mother. Leo remembers his mother screaming for him to run, and he did. When he finally lost the wolves, he hid in some bushes, and waited for his mother. She never came… After three days of waiting, Leo went back to the place they had slept, only to find his mother’s half eaten carcass. In pure horror, Leo ran away, only to run into a black mare, who was shocked to see the foal in the state that he was. When she asked what was wrong, all he could do was shake and glance back at the clearing where his dead mother lay. After a bit, the mare went to see what had scared the foal, and finding the mare’s dead carcass, realized this must be the foal’s mother, for even with the scent of blood and death on the mare, her distant scent still clung to her, and smelt of the foal. In pity, the mare took Leo with her. He found out her name was Moonless, and he in return, told her his name. Moonless took him back to her herd, and after begging the Lead Stallion, Vickness, Moonless was able to keep Leonardo, lucky for her, he had been weaned 3 weeks before they met. Soon, Leonardo met a gray foal by the name of Spin, named after the spinning design under his right eye. The two became friends after a bit and they were inseparable.

Colt Months (2 year old) - As a colt, Leonardo often spent a lot of time with Moonless and/or Spin. He often played pranks on the herd members with Spin, and this often ended with them getting in trouble. Leonardo also loved to go for walks with Moonless, and sometimes it ended up with them racing. Leonardo loved his herd and could not think of anywhere else he would rather be. Everything was perfect. Well, as everybody knows, life can’t stay perfect, and it didn’t. One day, when Spin and Leonardo where walking along, his friend ended up stepping in a burrow of some creatures, and broke his leg. In horror, Leo didn’t know what to do. He wanted to go get help, but he didn’t want to leave his best friend alone, unable to defend himself. In the end, Leo left to get help, only to return with Vickness and Moonless to see a puma feasting on the carcass of Spin, having seen the down horse an easy meal. In rage, Leonardo chased off the Puma… For days, Leonardo kept his distance from the herd, grieving heavily for his friend, the only one he allowed to get close to him was Moonless. After 2 months, Leonardo started to become his normal self once again, and it looked like life would be good again. Then more tragedy struck. Moonless was walking one day a bit away from the herd to graze, unaware of danger, and was bit heavily in the leg by a Rattler… It took very little time for the venom to reach Moonless’s heart and kill the raven black mare… Leonardo almost lost it, he freaked out and ran away from the herd, swearing to never return. Well his promise didn’t last long, before he knew it, he found himself tracking the herd and when he caught up with them, he apologized to Vickness, who said it was alright and he fully understood, having lost loved ones in his time. After that, Leonardo made himself the protector of the herd, aside from Vickness. He was constantly on watch for any danger and saved several horses from death… But as Leonardo started to reach the age of three, Vickness started to change, giving him disturbing looks and often kicking, biting, or chasing him away from the herd a short ways. Leonardo was confused with Vickness’s actions. He thought maybe the older stallion was just confused or sick, but after he talked to an old mare in the herd, he found out that Vickness was starting to show the signs of trying to run Leo off without a big stunt. Leo learned it was common for Lead Stallions to chase off the other stallions, feeling threatened by the possibility of being overthrown and kicked out, Herd Stallions often chased out the young stallions before they had the chance of doing such acts. Leonardo now understood Vickness, but he tried to show the Lead Stallion he would never do such things. It didn’t work. One hot afternoon when the herd was grazing on tough yellow grass, Vickness turned on Leonardo, rushing at him and making the younger stallion flee in fear, but instead of stopping after a tiny bit, Vickness kept going, biting roughly at Leonardo’s flank and making the stallion run so hard his legs ached. After a bit, Vickness slowed down and went to go back to the herd. Leo tried to follow him, but the stallion blocked him, rearing at him and kicking at him with his forelegs. In shock, Leo had jumped back. He kept his distance for days, often trying to sneak back into the herd, but always chased away by Vickness. After a long while of trailing behind the herd, Leonardo gave up, accepting in loathing that Vickness wanted his help no more, he then struck out on his own.

Now! - Leonardo is still a bachelor stallion, having so much problems with herds in the past, the 3 year old is convinced that herd life is just not his thing. He constantly travels around, watching herds. He has grown into the habit of luring mares and fillies out to him, wanting a good flirt or, if the female is in heat, a breeding. He will refuse to make any promises with the mares, not being one to break promises like his good for nothing father did. He then leaves after he gets the fill of what he wants, and really never ever knows what becomes of his female admirers. He sometimes is found in a tiny group of Bachelors, much like a Bachelor band, but he never truly stays with them very long.
