Friends
Spirit: Her father. Windsong didn’t get to know him very well, but all the same, admired him.
Rain: The lead mare of the herd, Windsong admired her as a foal, especially given that she deals with the stressful young colts.
Outlaw: She likes Outlaw very much, though platonically. He fought for her freedom when she was brought to his band of misfits in what Windsong originally perceived as a challenge to the lead stallion. He lost, but never seized to be kind to her.

Enemies
Tsar: It isn’t like Windsong to really abhor others, but she does NOT like Tsar – this stallion was the reason that she was taken into the band. He kidnapped her from her wandering and brought her to the ‘herd.’ He wanted to claim her as his. One of the other stallions fought him and despite losing, he backed off.

Relation to Spirit:
Daughter of Spirit, Windsong lived with her father for a few years before going out on her own as all young horses do, and began searching to start her own herd. She ran into a large, brutish stallion called Tsar, and was taken to a group of bachelor males – a band of ruffians, so to speak, where Tsar put claim to her. She later left and joined the ranks of Hotspur, who lives near her home herd.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Personality:
In a word, proper. Windsong is quiet and rather haughty due to her upbringing as Spirit’s daughter. While not the daughter of Rain, she tends to be spoiled, as she was quite spoiled. She likes getting her way, just like everyone does, but tends to be a lot less forgiving when she doesn’t. She can’t stand bachelor stallions, considering them to be crude and impolite. She does, however, aspire to lead a herd one day, and tends to be very determined when she sets a goal. She doesn’t like giving up and tries to avoid it when she can, but generally gets frustrated easily, silently giving up her goal until she’s no longer upset. She is generally not very unpleasant, but cold to those she doesn’t like being around.
Likes: Being around kind horses, sunshine, warm weather, cool breezes, streams
Dislikes: Roughnecks, Tsar, being around impolite horses, rain, hot days
Fears: Unknown
Goals:
Primary goals: Forming a herd
Secondary goals: None currently
Achieved Goals: --
History:
Born to an unknown mare and Spirit, Windsong was raised in the herd. She had a spoiled foalhood, and enjoyed it thoroughly. She got everything she wanted.
When she was two, she did what all young horses do – she left. She wanted to live a good life, leading a herd, and planned to find a lead stallion to join her. She moved into the wilds outside the herd and travelled for several months. Along the way, though, she met several bachelors – those that tried to woo her, but all were too rough for her liking.
One day, however, she was travelling close to Sgt. Adams’ estate. A large stallion – Tsar was his name – and when he approached her, he was cold and rough in nature. He wasn’t polite and had no interest in what Windsong wanted. He rounded her off and captured her. She attempted to fight, but couldn’t really hope to fight off the great stallion.
Eventually, she was brought to a small herd on the edge of a forest. There were several stallions, and Windsong thought maybe she saw a couple of mares.
Immediately, Tsar declared that Windsong would be his. So, naturally, Windsong assumed he was the lead stallion. She didn’t like him, though. She was cold toward him, and almost as soon as he claimed her, a striking stallion, not quite as big as Tsar, stood forth and demanded that Windsong not be treated that way.
He challenged Tsar immediately, and Windsong couldn’t help but marvel at the stallion’s bravery.
He did, however, lose. Of course he did – Tsar had to stand about 16 hh high. All the same, Tsar did in fact back off, but wouldn’t let Windsong leave. She was kept nearby at all times.
Eventually she found the stallion who championed her and mentioned her admiration of him for standing up to his lead stallion. Outlaw corrected her – in fact, there was no lead stallion to the herd. He explained that, rather, whoever was strong enough could do whatever they pleased. If no one tried to challenge them, all was well. Otherwise, they’d fight. The winner obviously got what they wanted. Any stallion could have any mare if they wanted.
Windsong was fascinated, and eventually found that she wouldn’t leave the band for quite some time. She wasn’t able to.
She did, however, make a good friend of her champion and eventually loosened up. She became integrated into the herd, and was allowed to graze on her own.
On one such day, she was attacked by some coyotes. She fought them as hard as she could, but was going to be overtaken.
This was when a great stallion appeared, his size smaller than Tsar but still quite big. He fought off the coyotes, going so far as to kill all three. She was bewildered, and didn’t know who he was, but when the others ran up, they knew well who he was. They had heard tales of him, and recognized him as the Beast Slayer, the only horse on the Cimarron to actively seek out and hunt coyotes. He was gone soon, without much more than a nod goodbye.
Left alone, when Windsong looked around she realized that in an attempt to run from the coyotes she had strayed very far from the band. She took the chance and left.
She travelled a great while before once more finding her home herd, where she rested until she could wander again. Eventually, she found herself in the valley home of Hotspur — she was charmed by his pleasant, princely demeanor and decided to stay with him.
