Name: Calfuray
Gender: Male
Breed: Pony
Parents: N/A
Siblings: None
Mate: None
Children: None
Herd members: He doesn't have a herd. As far as he knows, he doesn't even know other ponies exist.
Personality: A spunky little pony, but is sturdier than even many horses. He never mentions his height and gets very angry for being made fun of for it. It usually ends in violence, and he can be pretty defensive. But deep down he's a big dork who loves to play and roll around like any other. He's used to loud noises and never gets disturbed by them.
Likes: Working, running fast and jumping. Rising to the challenge. He's a very simple pony with simple needs. Also he has a bit of a thing for stallions...
Dislikes: Mares, foals, getting stepped on or mistaken for a colt.
Fears: Buffalo. He's incredibly claustrophobic and is afraid of being crushed, but other than that he has few fears.
As my character: I just wanted a pony LOL
How he's related to Spirit: He's one of the pack ponies who came on the same trains as the pack mules.
Voice:
History: His owner had originally bought his mother to breed working ponies to sell them, but he'd never met her. Apparently Mike was unable to save her after she gave birth, but actually managed to sell her body for meat for a good price. It was tough travelling with a baby pony to raise, so he married a wealthy girl in a hurry. In order to get extra money, once little Cal was old enough, he was sold and trained to carry heavy carts.
History (cont): Being transported to the west was a nice change from the dank and dreary city for the pony. And he was strong and well-built from working his entire life. He didn't do so well in the social ranks with the horses, but got along rather well with the mules and donkeys. Upon reaching the west was when it was realized that carrying iron in a cart was going to be his toughest job yet. Cal could never be paired up with any mule or donkey because of his size, so he was forced to work alone. He didn't have to carry any of the horses who died during the train pulling, but it made the experience harder on him. If he had to carry them, he wouldn't have to look at them.
History (cont): An accident occured that caused the train to fall down the mountain. Everyone was in a panic that they didn't even unhook him from the cart. He ran as far as he could with it before finally getting stuck. A big red horse named Moteado happened along and chewed one of his straps until it was easy enough to break free. Cal paused at first to thank him but they ended up both running away from the fire.

I fixed him, to just make him a standard pony until I do a bit more
research on their history xD Thanks for that! As far as his coat, I've not only referenced him from an actual photo, but I also asked a friend of mine who knows her roans and she mentioned a problem I've already fixed in his design. If you're going to "critique" on the type of brush I used, I'd prefer you name a better one as opposed to telling me that his speckles aren't as randomized as I'd like. Because they're not. Photoshop is a very frustratingly limited program. |
