Persona

Personality: Mature, timid, and stable. He isn't one to randomly have moments where he breaks down and cries or suddenly becomes hyper and happy. He's a true gem, or rock to his friends. He's always reliable and takes care of his responsibilities, as well as supportive. He's a real cuddle-bug if you get to be real close to him, but it doesn't seem that way at first when you meet him. He has his own special gentle way to wiggle his way into people's hearts. He is all-around respectful to others, unless they are disrespectful or rude to him. Then he just walks away and doesn't talk to them until they apologize.
Weaknesses: He's real stiff and shy around others (humans and horses alike) at first, mostly because he's just not the extreme social type. Although he won't really admit it, he loves contact with others, he's a real physical guy, although he doesn't enforce it.

Likes: Cuddling with close ones, physical contact, his former and current "masters", spending time with Whispering Dove as she does her chores,

History

Hazel was born in a small barn that was almost the size of a shed, and was given his name Hazel. His parents were two quarter horses bred to be gambled on. Hazel was born as a twin, and as it turned out his brother was kept to be raced and Hazel was sold off to the Kickapoo Trader named Eagle Eye, who lived out of a wagon selling his treasures in the wild west. Hazel's job was to simply pull the wagon when they needed to change location.
One day, while Hazel was grazing below a ridge where the wagon was set up, the trader was raided by American Indians. Hazel looked up to the ridge, hearing the loud cries and got spooked as the wagon went up in flames. Hazel dashed off away from the scene. However, the Native Americans spotted him and went chasing after him. Hazel was eventually caught by the natives, which turned out to be a part of a Chippewa tribe. The Chippewa had no use for him, so they gave Hazel as a gift to the daughter of a chief of a Lakota tribe as a wedding proposal.
Hazel moved out to the plains and to a neighboring tribe to Little Creek. There he was renamed by the humans as "Gentle One", however he prefers to be called Hazel among the equines. Hazel eventually grew attached to the women he was given to, who was called Whispering Dove. While out with Whispering Dove at the river one day, gathering water in a gourd, Whispering Dove drops the gourd, which was a family heirloom. She goes jumping in after it, and gets swept down river. Hazel goes running after her, and eventually the current washes Dove up on the bank of the other Lakota tribe. Here, Whispering Dove is helped by people of the tribe (Little Creek's tribe). Hazel does not leave Dove as many offer to help her dry off. They take her into a teepee, and Hazel waits outside for her. While waiting for Whispering Dove, he is approached by various horses of the village, one of which was Rain with Winter Solstice. Winter was simply caught up in Hazel's eyes that the two spent an awkward moment of her looking at his eyes, and him blushing and not knowing what to say.
Hazel spent the night in the cold outside of Whispering Dove's tent. At dawn he saw Whispering Dawn's husband, Wolf Heart appear to take his wife and her horse home to their village. Hazel left without saying goodbye to any of the horses as he pulled a small make-shift carriage with Dove and Wolf inside it. He looked back at the village, only to see a small white horse in the distance with cute curly hair. He sighed and went on, wondering what happened to that stunning horse for months, until he accepted he would possibly never see her again.
Then, one day a taboo happened. He met her once more a year or two later. By then, she had found her soul-mate, and Hazel was just happy to see her once more. He did not feel any sadness towards Winter being taken, because he believed that she would be happy. The two remained friends for a long time, even when Winter felt it was time to leave her tribe. Although Hazel misses her dearly when she is not aorund, he never confessed his crush on her, nor does her ever plan to.
When Winter is gone, he spends his time following Whispering Dove around. He loves her more than any one else in the tribe, and soon grows to not allow anyone to ride him except her. He often plays with Little Brooke and her horse, who is married to Little Creek. From time to time Hazel sees Rain, and before Rain had joined the Cimarron herd, she would often try to play matchmaker and render Hazel her victim. However, Hazel feels like he just hasn't found the one yet.
Eventually, Whispering Dove and Wolf Heart have a baby boy. At first, Hazel doesn't seem to like it as it takes Dove's times away from him, but as the boy grows, Hazel soon becomes affectionate toward it. Dove would place the baby on Hazel's back, and he would allow it, however, when the boy became quite older, Hazel constantly refused to allow the boy to ride him. Wolf Heart was increadibly offened, as was his son.Wolf Heart wished to either break the horse to any rider or set him free, but he did not tell Whispering Dove.
One day, Wolf Heart put Hazel in a corral, and colsed it with Wolf Heart inside. He tried to get on top of the horse's back, but time after time, the horse either bucked him off or prevented him from getting on. Finally Wolf Heart lost it and whipped the horse. Hazel cried out loudly, and some villagers were curious and crowded around the corral. Wolf Heart continued to beat the horse, making him shriek out, but Hazel refused to allow Wolf to ride him or fight back. Whispering Dove came running and jumped into the corral when she saw Wolf Heart beating Hazel as he was laying down.on his side, crying out, and bleeding. She pushed to her husband to the ground and picked up the wip and hit him with it across his bare chest, furious at him for harming an old and innocent horse.
The entired village witnessed this, and immediatly accused the wife of breaking the law, and once more, disconnecting the two different Chippewa and Lakota tribes. Whispering Dove was tied up that night and guarded, and her punishment was yet to be decided until the next morning.
Hazel stayed in the corral that night under the stars, he was beaten and forever terrified of Wolf Heart or any other male Native American. He whined the whole night as he laid on his side in pain. Then a mysterious girl entered the pen with a gourd. Hazel smelled Lakota on her, and knew her to be Little Brook. She washed Hazel and put a remedy on his wounds, and massaged him for a little while. She then left. but soon came back with Whispering Dove and another horse. The other horse was Little Brook's horse, Little Shoulders. Whispering Dove entered the pen and said goodbye to her beloved horse, and hoped to see him once more. Little Brook helped Dove get on Lil' Shoulders, then they rode off in the night with a small pouch full of supplies on Whispering Dove's back.
Little Brook had promised to look after Hazel until Dove returned for him later to return Little Shoulders back to Brook. When dawn came, Wolf Heart was furious to see his wife gone. He lead a search party to look for her, but came back that night with nothing. He put a bounty on her, and spread it through the other tribes. Wolf Heart then went looking for her horse, and found Hazel with Little Brook. Wolf Heart demanded the horse back, but Little Brook refused. In the end, Chief Snoring Bear asked Wolf Heart to leave, and he did, but he swore hewould find his wife...

Other

Hazel's relation to the official characters are that he meets and becomes friends with various people of chief Snoring Bear's (official video game character) tribe, including Little Creek, Rain (which helps him becomes friends with Winter). He often accompanies Whispering Dove when she visits Little Brook (another official video game character.) and her horse Little Shoulders (A horse in the Cimarron herd in the game).
He is NOT open to be a mate or a herd, due to certain aspects of his history. Please do not ask to make any family members either unless I know you.
