_____________________________________________________________
Personality: Some say she's more on the serious side, but that's only cause it's hard to get a reaction out of her. She's fairly friendly, but because of some things that have happened to her in the past she has built a wall around herself, not allowing others to get close to her. Estelle's natural beauty gains her attention that she'd rather not have, leaving her with a slight coldness and resentment toward stallions. Even though she seems pretty distant, if someone ever gets past her barriers they will have a whole new view on the girl and have a heck of a surprise on her personality underneath.
Likes: The feeling of a brush going over her coat, water, eating grass after it rains, running, rain, a good roll, snitching food from unsuspecting soldiers, being stubborn with folks at the fort.
Dislikes: The fort, confinement, stallions, snarky horses, the Colonel, bits, saddles, ropes, someone trying to cut her hair, flies, whips, harsh riders, grizzlies, wolves, man-made feed.

Biography: Estelle's story starts all the way overseas in Hungary. A wealthy man owned her father, a elegant handsome black stallion. His coat was as black as night, his dancing hooves beating the ground as thunder. Yet the noble stallion's most striking feature was his royal roman nose, always passing down into his offspring. Misfortune fell upon the stallion's owner and he ended up being sold to another rich family (the Creighton family) in England. The family was looking to build their fame and fortune with this stallion when they moved to New England. A friend of theirs (the Sutherby family) lived out in the countryside on his own large well off plantation. The family stayed there for a long while, keeping their prized stallion in one of the best stalls on the plantation. The Sutherby's had a few prized horses of their own, one of which was a lovely Mustang Walker cross mare, who was the lady's of the house riding horse. The mare was a very sweet and even tempered animal. She wasn't lacking in beauty either for her coat was as the morning mist and her mane and tail was like that of a silvery reflection on the lake. She had four even elegant socks on her legs, which moved in a graceful rythm. One day the stallion was let out to pasture. He was always kept under watch during this time, but an incident in the barn led to him being unsupervised. The limber stallion's attention had been caught by the Sutherby's lovely mare and he easily scaled the white fence between them. When the handlers finally came back to fetch him they were highly displeased to find that he had gotten in with the mare, but the deed was already done... a filly had been concieved.
The two families experienced some ill feelings at first, but the Sutherby's had a young daughter (Emma Sutherby) who insisted that this circumstance was rather good, as she had been wanting a horse of her own. She finally convinced the two that it was good, but the Creighton's moved on not long after, leaving an unborn legacy behind them. The young maiden took well care of the pregnant mare, always doting on her and talking to the unborn foal inside her. It had seemed like she would never foal, until one silent cool night...
A filly had been born... she had her mother's misty coat, but throughout it was bright white stars. Her legs each held the white sock of her mother, and in the middle of her blueish ebony head was a beautiful star-like diamond marking. Her father, staying true to his genes, gave her an elegant roman nose and a thick-boned yet lovely build. Her eyes were like pools of crystal water and her mane and tail were as silver as the full moon above them. It was as if she was the child of the very night, all the elements of the night sky portrayed as a living soul... she was named Estelle.
The filly grew daily, her frisky and playful attitude bringing joy to the Sutherby's and their staff. The daughter had the closest bond with the little foal though, the two were always together. The trust between young girl and filly was unbelievable and unwavering. As time went on the two grew into very beautiful creatures, both seeming to have a free spirit. At two years of age Estelle had already let her young mistress ride on her back, though the two had such a connection no bridle or saddle was needed. But their time together would be cut short. The family had decided it was time for their daughter to go off to school, they had chose one on the eastern coast. Emma spent her last day with Estelle, the goodbye was heartwrenching for the young lady. Estelle couldn't figure out why she was so sad. At the end of the day she watched as her young master left in a carraige, little did she know that could be the last time she saw her. At first Estelle was just her usual mopey self if Emma was gone, but as weeks turned into months she began to go into withdraw. The family got worried when she started to refuse to eat, but their worry for her would soon be the least of their worries. One dark winter night the plantation was raided by indians. The main house being set on fire and the stables raided. Estelle was among one of the horses stolen... that night left the Sutherby family in devestation. Only the lady of the house and her youngest daughter survived..
Estelle was confused and frightened, the smell of smoke still lingered in her flared nostrils. Strange people herded her and her fellow stablemates through rough terrain for many days. They had been stolen by a rogue band of indian warriors. But her stablemates only stayed with them long enough to be traded. Estelle watched as her friends diminished to zero, her heart ached and was filled with a lonely sadness. The warriors had a different plan for her, as they had been amazed at her beauty. They treated her gently though.. well compared to the others. They would frequently wash her off in a lake or pond they passed, keeping her coat shining. After many months of traveling they reached their home tribe out west. They arrived outside of the village on the night of her birth, her third birthday had come. The night was cold and calm, the moon's beams being the only kind thing embracing the gentle curves of Estelle's fit body. Estelle was no longer the frisky young filly she used to be.. she was now a quiet beautiful young mare, whose ability to love was leaving her fast. At early dawn's light the warriors proudly paraded her down to the village. Much excitement arrose at the sight of the stunning young mare. All the people and noises made Estelle's feet dance underneath her, her blue eyes wide with nervousness. Everyone grew silent when the chief walked out, his critical eyes going over the gift the warriors had brought back. She was like no horse he'd ever seen and he was highly pleased. Estelle was treated with the highest respect at the village, she was never ridden and was doted on daily. The chief's daughter, whose touch reminded her so much of Emma, would frequently adorn her with beads and feathers. Her fourth birthday came around and with it yet another misfortune...
Gun shots rang through the morning's brisk air. Screams of terror and the thudding of horses' hooves rained down on the village. The Calvary had been sent to deal with the "problem" tribe. Everything happened so quickly, the once peaceful village was in shambles by the time the Calvary rounded her up with some of the other horses. After a few days journey they reached the fort. It was one of the many forts out in the west. The minute she saw the towering wooden walls she knew she wouldn't like this place. And she was right.. but fortunately she met another young mare. Her name was Haley. The younger mare reminded her a lot of herself when she was younger.. maybe that was the reason she let her get closer than others. The two became good friends, Haley feeling like a little sister to her. The young palomino mare was able to bring out some of the long-since hidden personality of Estelle, but it only came in bits and pieces. Their friendship started to be strained though when a obnoxiously charming cremello stallion was brought to the fort. What would happen to the three of them?
Relation to Spirit: Stays at the fort under the Colonel's care and has frequent contact with Granite while there.
