Personality:
He’s pretty quiet- despite his loud markings. He may look flashy, but he’s really quite mild mannered and tame. It’s only when he gets pushed to his breaking point does this shy-boy finally lose it. He can take an incredible amount of strain at such a young age- and already has. He is also easily impressed and generous with his compliments to others.
History
Born to a domesticated paint mother, she struggled to adjust to the wild-life as some horses do. Moskau had taken her into the herd from a ranch that had turned their horses loose before they moved. Just after Drexel’s birth the land began to become poor with drought. Moskau sought to move the herd to a small oasis further south; Drexel was weaned on the journey down. They were very near many herds that had done the same- such as Sprit’s herd. After a forest fire drove the herds into panic one night, Drexel’s mother was badly injured in the ensuing stampede. As it was revealed that man was behind all of this, and was using the panic to drive herds into corrals, Drexel stayed by his mother’s side and would not follow her orders to go with the herd. Moskau and most of the herd escaped- leaving Drexel. Drexel was instructed to hide as a man came to euthanize his mother- her injuries too grave. Drexel avoided capture by plunging into a river while being chased.
It was in this half drowned state that he met Vida- a young filly who was separated from her parents as well. He also met Delphine and Cliff the following day- who were separated from their families too. Vida said if he ever needed a home the Cimarron herd was open to him- he just had to get there first. Drexel, Delphine, Vida and Cliff now all search for where home has gone.
Relation to Spirit: Vida is Spirit and Rain’s daughter- Drexel is part of her make-shift family for now. The Cimarron herd is always open to him.
