History: Amante was born in the wild to a troubled herd. The herd had been constantly chased down by humans, sometimes losing members of the herd to them. Amante was seen as a weakness to the herd, a new foal could slow down the herd and result in the whole herd being captured. Amante was rejected by his fellow herd members, even by his own father, his mother was the only one to show him any love and kindness. Amante wanted to be strong to prove to the herd that he wasn't a weakness and would run along side the herd when they'd move out. As he grew he was bullied by the other horses, they would push him around and chace him away constantly. He wanted to fight them, even kill some of them but he didn't want to upset his mother so he would just back away from the herd.
One stormy spring he and his mother were out grazing away from the herd, Amante was simply trying to avoid a fight when he noticed the herd was running towards them. He braced his self waiting for the beating to start when he felt them run past him. Through the dust he could see humans gaining up on them quickly, he reared and took off with his mother beside him, they tried to lose the men in the woods but it turned out to be a trap. Amante and his mother were captured and were dragged to a ranch. They tried to escape but simply couldn't. For weeks they were whipped and beatten, Amante wass strong enough for the beattings but he could see his mother was struggling. One gloomy afternoon the two stood huttled together and saw the men walk out with a whip and saddle. Amante's mother was sick of the beatting and finally snapped, she attacked two of the men before being restrained by the other ranchers. Before Amante could run to her aid he was pulled back by the ropes around his neck, he watched and one of the men that was attacked get up and storm up to his mother. Amante watched in horror as the man pulled out a gun and shot his mother, in the blink or end eye she was gone. Amante let out a cry and dropped his head down, the only being who ever loved and cared about him was gone. Before he could mourn her then men dragged her lifeless body away.
Amante had become cold and unforgiving, he would strike at the men at any oprotunity in hope that they would end his lonely life. He would get beatten and starved instead, he would pray for death just so he wouldn't be alone anymore. But one day a sign appeared to him, after one of his whipping one of the ranchers forgot to close the gate all the way. Amante waited till it was dark when the men were asleep and took off into the night. He ran for hours till the sun rose abouve the mountain and trees, he wanted to put distance between him and his past. He managed to get far enough away and plopped his self in a heavily bushed area and slept. When he awakened later in the evening he cautiously watched the horizon, scanning the feilds to be sure the men did not persue him, after some time he contined his journey into the unknown only stopping to eat and drink.
Amante was on his own for less then a month when he had a run in with the Lakota indians. He managed to dodge them the first two times they tried to catch him, but the third time he was out smartted and was captured. Amante fought them as they brought him back to the trib, he was furious and just wanted to go back to being alone. He stormed around the corral kicking up dirt and bucked at the corral. During his tantrum he noticed he was being watched, he stopped and looked at the younger horse. The pale dunalino introduced his self as Ciro and began asking Amante questions. Amante looked at the stallion puzzled, asking questions like a young foal would. He took a deep breath and answered his silly questions. He didn't know why but the more he talked to Ciro he felt a connection to him. He couldnt explane why but he felt it in deep within his bones.
After some months Amante became close with Ciro, he was sort of friends with the other horses in the tribe but none of them were like Ciro. The two went everywhere together, he felt like he needed to protect the fragile Ciro from anything that could harm him. He would occationally play with the spirited young stallion if no one was around to see it. But his favorite time to spend with Ciro is when they slept, Amante felt like there was peace at such a time.
