She tends to try and be the voice of reason during arguments, and tries to stay as neutral as possible, but when forced into an uncomfortable situation, she will take sides, though very reluctantly, especially between friends or loved ones. She's also very passionate, and likes to bring out the best in people, and try to make them see their worth if they don't. However, she also tries to bring out a lot of personal feelings in others, which may or may not set them off on her. This doesn't faze her though, and if a friend goes off on her she insists on being there for them, and sticks by them no matter what, no matter how angry they may be with her. Despite her good intentions, she can also be rather oblivious to the horses around her, or tries to ignore the bad around her. She refuses to see the bad in those she knows and cares about, even if deep down she knows that they really are bad for her, and that she shouldn't be around them. Overall, she's a friendly, spirited mare with a good heart set in the right place, even though she does push those good intentions at times. Alas though, most of her pushiness to try and help others is only due to the fact that she attempts to make up for any faults she's had with others in her life. She believes to be the reason so many loved ones got hurt or died, and she believes the only way to stop the tragedies from happening is by helping others no matter what the cost.

Drops of Jupiter

You're definitely... different? Dreamy? Alluring? Are those the right words  to use? I don't know... Jupiter, something about you screams to me that I should care about you, that I should feel, I don't know, attracted, to you. Yes, attracted. And maybe I am. Even if I was-- even if I am attracted to you, how do you feel about me? I certainly don't know. You're seemingly perfect at first glance. Maybe that's why you caught my eye. A big, handsome, mysterious figure swooping around, like a dark hero. What's not to be attracted to? But then again, it could be an act.  Now I wouldn't pry into your life, but for some stallion, just a random stallion who invited me into his herd, who sweeps me off my hooves... It's a great feat. And I want to know how you pulled it off. Did you have lessons on how to woo mares? Well I guess that doesn't matter much, I've fallen for you and I've fallen hard. Which is odd, considering I promised to never feel anything for anyone again, not in the way that I do for you. And sometimes I dream if you'd ever feel the same about me, Jupiter. When you first saw me, did your heart stop, did you get nervous, did you get butterflies in your stomach?... I guess we'll never know.

Achak

Achak, if I could change the past, you need to know that I would do so in a heartbeat. Your friendship, your companionship, your utter devotion to keeping me safe was something I treasured, and I still do. You were indeed, my best friend. So what happened to us? How could you do that to me? Force me to love you... It doesn't work that way. Achak, I did love you, you just couldn't see it the way I did. And sometimes I wonder if I should've pretended; pretended to love you so our lives were still intertwined. And other times I think you were a horrible monster for hurting me the way you did. Either way, you need to know, wherever you are, that I did love you. And that I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry...

Ko

My mother; she was beautiful, inside and outside. She seemed to always be surrounded by happiness and love, and always smelled like a crisp, fine spring day. She was an utter joy to be around, always laughing and cheerful. She made everyone happy, even on a bad day, no one could stay down around her. She was like springtime herself. A lot of horses said that I was most definitely my mother's daughter, and they were right; my mother and I bore a strong, almost identical resemblance to one another... the only main thing we didn't share were our eyes. Her eyes were a gorgeous, earthy green, and mine are from my father. I wish I had her eyes. They were so beautiful, always shining and glimmering with light and hope. Mine are just a horrible reminder of the wretched beast my father was. But nevertheless, Ko was good to me. She was fair, loving, and stern; a perfect mother, if I do say so myself. I'll never forget the times we spent together; lazing about in a field on a sunny day, playing together, going for strolls or swimming... My mother was my best friend, indeed she was. She was everyone's friend, actually. Which is why I can't believe how badly I screwed up. You were always there for me mom, and I stabbed you in the back. I never said sorry for how I treated you. I was wrong, mom, and now my punishment for treating you the way I did is to never even say how sorry I am for what I did to you. I love you Ko, please know that, wherever you may be.

-History-

[Before Birth]

Ko was a regular wild mare, untamed and free. She was untouched by humans, and lived her early life in a large, loving herd. Everything was so perfect, until one day it crashed down on her. It was wrangling season, and her herd was savaged, torn apart in front of her. Humans riding large, fierce stallions, with bloodshot eyes ran through the herd, roping any members straying too far. They followed the large herd for days, roping and lassoing any straying off members, tossing them aside, until only the strongest members remained. It consisted of Ko, her parents, a few other colts and fillies, and her older cousins. The next few days were torture for the small group. The wranglers were vicious, along with their horses. They would ride right up next to a member, and the stallions would taunt them, mock them, sometimes even kick them. One stallion in particular, whose name was Blackjack, always seemed to stay in pace with Ko. He was older then her, clearly by a few years, and every time he galloped up beside Ko he would start the biggest flirting session with her. Ko's father hotly defended his daughter and bucked at Blackjack, but the stallion wouldn't back off. It wasn't long after until the wranglers wore the herd out to the extent where they just stopped running. They banded together, huddled up, and gave him. Ko desperately watched as they roped up her family, and eventually, herself. And she was roped by no other then Blackjack's rider. They all trudged back in the direction from which they came, with Ko relentlessly being teased and flirted with Blackjack, who wouldn't lay off of her.

Eventually they arrived at a large fort, where the remaining herd members were let loose in a pasture, while some were put into stalls. They had arrived at the Calvary. She watched everyday as new wild horses were brought in to be broken down and tamed, and when the time came for Ko to be broken, she was resistant until the very end, and only gave in when she ridden to the breaking point and nearly starved to death. Eventually she was planned to breed with Blackjack, and she put up all the fight she could before she was subdued yet again to the point of exhaustion. So to her great distaste she was bred with the flirtatious stallion, who was still pining for her affection, and she got pregnant. After this period she grew hotly defensive and snappy, not letting anyone near her, until one fateful day.

The Calvary had rounded up some stray Lakota tribe horses, and not long after the Lakotas invaded the Calvary fort, taking back their horses and some stray ones as well; which included Ko. She raced away with them, and fiercely fought her way past Blackjack, who hotly trailed after her. However, her stamina was greater than his, and he gave up, bitterly watching as she raced away to raise their foal on her on.

[I included this part of Ko's life because I wanted everyone to understand how strong Ko's fight for independence and freedom was; obviously not as great as Spirit's, but it's important to Cordelia's later life.]

[Foal]

After Ko's departure from the Calvary, she decided to go after the Lakotas and learn more about them. Her family hadn't gotten out, at least that she knew of, and the Lakotas seemed to genuinely love their horses. She was right. At first both sides were wary, Ko of humans and the Lakotas of her, but eventually they welcomed each other, and Ko grew to like the little environment. She grew friendly with the horses there, and before long gave birth to a single foal right outside of the tribe. The foal was a little filly, who looked just like Ko. The new mother named her daughter Cordelia, and after a few days took her new child to the village for the first time.

Cordelia grew up like any other foal; happy and cheerful, always curious and exploring new places, and harboring a deep, loving bond with their parents. In this case, Cordelia only had Ko, so the mother and daughter grew to be especially close, even best friends. However, there were other foals in the village, some older and some younger then Cordelia, but she enjoyed playing with them all the same. She was also a little dare devil, often mucking up things on the Lakotas, and whether it was on purpose or not was a complete mystery. Nonetheless she was a valued part of the tribe, and generally well liked. Everything was virtually perfect for her; she had a loving and adoring parent (didn't know about her father yet), numerous friends, and odd yet fun humans to play with as well. Not to mention, she was free. True, she never wandered far from the village, but she was never held down either. As long as she was with her mother, the pair went everywhere, as long as Cordelia was comfortable. They would go race, swim, graze, or just relax together. It was Cordelia's foalhood where everything went the way she wanted it to, and where all her perfect memories were. However, things all changed when she turned into an adolescent.

[Filly]

When Cordelia was nearing her filly years, things began to get overwhelming. She was often doted on by frisky colts, and although her mother was always there for her, and though she was flattered by the compliments the males gave her, she was uneasy being the center of attention. She much preferred if it she was viewed as just another filly, nothing too special, and ordinary like everyone else. Her mother largely disagreed with this, and called her daughter a "perfect, shining star." It was also during her adolescent years where Cordelia grew extremely close to her mother. The young filly viewed the older mare as a mother, supporter, and a best friend. Their bond was tighter than ever before, and though they had their spat here and there, they were virtually inseparable.

However, with all great bonds come even greater secrets and surprises. Ko decided it was time to tell Cordelia the truth about her father. So, one night, Ko took Cordelia a few ways away from the village, and they settled down. Ko proceeded to carefully, and slowly, tell Cordelia about Blackjack. She was gentle about it at first, trying to ease it into her daughter's mind gently. Cordelia was shocked, and also hurt. Her mother never bothered to say much about Blackjack, and Cordelia never questioned why. But the fact that he was so horrible to Ko, and that Cordelia never knew felt like betrayal. She shied away from her mother, angry, upset, and just emotional over the whole matter. After that night she gradually began to block her mother away, too upset to comprehend why Ko hadn't told her about her father sooner.

During this time of 'shunning' Ko, Cordelia began to grow closer with an old friend called Achak. He was a shy stallion, never talked much, but he was one of her oldest and closest friends. They had grown rather close in the time period when Cordelia spent less time with Ko, and Cordelia even felt herself growing attracted to the stubby little pinto colt. And to her own surprise, the once-shy Achak, who was the male she fell for, began to develop an... ego was it? He grew more arrogant and proud, often strutting around like he was a king, and it upset Cordelia a lot. What happened to her old friend? Nonetheless she was still his friend, but her feelings were slipping for the colt, and fast. She longed to return back to her mother's side, but thought it was impossible; she turned her back on her mother; Ko would never take her back. But that was where she was wrong, oh so deathly wrong.

A few weeks after Cordelia distanced herself from Ko and grew closer to Achak, the young filly was awoken to frantic screams and cries from humans and horses alike. It was pitch black, right smack in the middle of the night, and everything happened all too fast around Cordelia. The once beautiful dark night was lit up with bright flares of orange, red, and yellow: Fire. It was the first time Cordelia ever experienced fire. It was hot, burning hot, not at all like the warm sun, which comforted her. The fire singed her pelt, it hurt her, and she was thrown into chaos with the village around her. People and horses, running in all different directions, trying to escape the flames that ate away at everything in its path. And there, amidst the chaos, as she bolted for her life, she ran straight into a tall, muscular stallion, dark as night, with striking blue eyes, just like her own. She stared at him, terrified, and was about to run away, but he saw her and ran in front of her, blocking her path. He easily towered over her, and she shook with fright. This was him. This was her father, Blackjack. And he knew it too. She saw a cruel smile cross his lips, and with his rider on top of him eagerly tried to rope his daughter up. She bolted, trying to run, but her father was faster and before she knew it, a thick, rough rope was lassoed around her neck, pulling her to the ground like a ragdoll. She was dragged to her feet, almost suffocated, when she heard a familiar whinny. It was Ko.

Her mother barreled towards her daughter and Blackjack, and the rider grew too greedy for his own good. He tried roping Ko as well, all the while dropping the rope which contained Cordelia. It loosened, and Cordelia slipped free from its restraints. The filly was free, but watched as Blackjack shifted onto chasing down his former partner. Cordelia watched as Ko led the stallion and his rider up a steep hill, and horror filled her eyes as fire spread towards them. They were trapped. Her beloved mother was trapped in a ring of fire with a monster. She tried racing towards the hill, but an all too familiar shape blocked her. It was Achak.

He tried warning her away, but the filly wouldn't listen. Achak wouldn't let her endanger herself, however, and snaked her away she eventually bucked at him, desperate to reach her mother. She broke away from him and circled around the hill, trying to find a spot where she could jump through the fire to reach her mother. However, there was nothing. Relentlessly she circled, constantly darting her gaze to watch a the fire continued to spread, when before long, it began to downpour. The fire quickly died down quickly, and she didn't hesitate as she bounded to her mother's side. She saw her father's rider, searched and limp on the ground, but Blackjack was nowhere to be seen. Unconcerned with him she reached her mother's side, who was now on the ground. Cordelia slowly approached her, and nuzzled her, all the while the rain grew heavier and heavier. She heard hoofsteps and saw Achak near her, and she turned back to Ko. She continuously nudged her mother's body, speaking softly and nipping at her mother's mane and ears. Tears began to form in her eyes, and Achak shook, trying to nudge her away from her mother's body. He tried telling her that Ko was gone, but Cordelia resisted, saying that she was just hurt, and passed out. Achak shook his head and tears streamed down his face as he reluctantly shoved Cordelia away from her mother's body. Cordelia spat at him, telling him to have some faith, but knew that he was right. Tears flew down her face as she leaned into her mother's cold, wet face, and she shuddered, shocked and disgusted at everything that had happened. She kept trying to force herself that Ko truly was knocked out, that everything would be fine, but deep down Cordelia knew that her once warm, bright mother was a cold, motionless figure out of the world forever.

"I never said sorry." She whispered, turning to look at Achak with a tear stained face. "She knew you were." He replied softly as he nosed her gently. And then, reluctantly, the two padded away, with Cordelia throwing a long, remorseful glance at her mother's lifeless body before huddling close to Achak as they disappeared into the cold, dark night.

[Mare]

Two years passed, and Cordelia had shaped into a fine mare, with a lean, sleek body and long flowing mane and tail, while Achak had shaped into a leggy, fine stallion with sharp, alert eyes. They were quite the duo, Cordelia and Achak; they never stayed in one place for too long, and everywhere they went they caused trouble. Cordelia grew to love Achak as a best friend and brother, while Achak on the other hand grew to love Cordelia in a romantic sense, however, she was oblivious to his shy advances on her, which at times irritated Achak, but he lived with it, uncertain if he should make it straight to her face obvious that he loved her.

Nonetheless, the two were close as ever, and although Cordelia still reeled with grief over her mother's death, Achak always knew how to cheer her up. However, Cordelia still felt empty. She cared for him and all, but her heart felt empty, like it was yearning for something... or someone that wasn't there. Cordelia shoved the feelings away, saying she was crazy for thinking that she wanted to truly love someone, and kept telling herself that Achak was the one for her, or so she thought...

A few days later, on one of their playful races, Cordelia caught sight of a large stallion standing atop a hill some distance away. She didn't get that great a look at him, but just the mere sight of such a tall, muscular looking stallion made her heart pound. Achak, however, saw it too, and grew defensive. He told her that they should get away from the area, and Cordelia absentmindedly nodded, following after her friend, right after looking back at the hill, but to her surprise, the stallion was gone.

Days resumed to being normal, Cordelia hadn't seen any other horses, or at least any horses like the stallion, for quite some time. She was slightly disappointed, but like always, Achak saw this and rose her spirits up by spending a day 'dedicated' to her. They went out for a long walk, raced, grazed, even swam a bit, and before long, it was nightfall. It was a particularly beautiful night; the sky was a gorgeous purple-black, the stars and moon were shining, even fireflies were buzzing about! It was absolutely wonderful for Cordelia, as it wasn't everynight that something so beautiful occurred like this, but what shocked her the most that night was when Achak confronted her with four simple words: "Cordelia, I love you." And she knew exactly what kind of love he meant. And she didn't want to play dumb and act as though she had no clue what he was talking about. Embarrassed beyond belief, she hesitated before murmuring in reply, "Achak... I don't love you. Not in... that kind of way." She didn't know how he was going to react. She knew he would be hurt, but he'd forgive her, right? Feelings like that couldn't be forced. And, yet again, Cordelia was wrong.

Achak flipped. He turned into a fury, hurling insults at her, and saying that she led him on, and that he was broken now. She tried to calm the situation down, but the stallion refused to hear it and stormed off, galloping away into the night. And so, Cordelia stood there, shattered at how horrible things had turned out. Her best friend, gone-- just like that. Now she really was alone.

And so her lonesome journey started. She walked around aimlessly, not knowing where to go or what to even do. Her life was a mess, a wreck. She found no meaning in anything anymore. All the horses she loved were gone, all because she couldn't suck things up and be there for them. Ko hurt her by not telling her about Blackjack sooner, but Cordelia could've, should've been there for her mother. Achak was her best friend, and he put everything on the line by telling Cordelia that he loved her. She could've easily returned those words. If she had just sucked it up, her mother and Achak would still have been with her.

Not being able to take the grief and pain anymore, Cordelia collapsed in a forest, curled up, and wished to die. She found no use in anything anymore. When suddenly, she heard a deep, yet smooth, soothing voice. She thought it was her imagination, but she heard it again. Picking her head up she abruptly pointed her muzzle mere inches away from a tall, handsome stallion with rich, warm eyes. Her eyes widened and her heart seemed to stop. She felt all tingly on the inside, and her mouth tightened as she struggled to find words to talk to the male. Suddenly, it hit her; she saw this stallion before! On the hill!

"You were the stallion, on the hill!" She blurted out, quickly getting to her hooves. He was taller than her, she scarcely reached his shoulder, and she suddenly felt embarrassed. How could a stallion, at first glance, make her a stuttering fool? The stallion spoke no words, but merely flicked his ears and gave a slight smile. "You must've seen me when I was patrolling my land." Cordelia pinned her ears back. She had been in his land the whole time. "I-I'm sorry, I never meant to invade in your-" He flicked his ears yet again, and she instantly snapped her mouth shut. "Come with me--?" He paused, waiting for her to finish his statement. "Cordelia. My name's Cordelia." She smiled, almost bouncing. He smiled once again, and murmured, "And I am Drops of Jupiter. Now, follow me." Cordelia nodded, trotting beside him. Her heart had melted just mere seconds ago. She knew he was being polite, but his voice, his eyes, his smile; she was acting like a love-struck foal. And yet, she didn't care. Why should she? Maybe Jupiter would be different from all the other stallions. She could only hope he was, looks could be deceiving. She stole a quick glance at him before turning her head away and blushing. He was different. She knew he was.

To be continued~
