Persona: a quiet mare, generally tried to be friendly but others often find it hard to approch her. when they finally do it usually takes her a while to warm up to them. Once she does however she is very open and social and easy to get along with. Ami is a kind of parinoid mare and it doesn't take much to send her over the edge of have her take osmething personaly. she is very protective of those she actually considers her friends. She isn't one for a herd and loves to travel on her own. she has a shy side but tried to cover it up. she is a very moody mare but shows it in silence, anger, or tears. She is very motherly and sisterly even though she constently fights it. while she would rather be alone (or so she tells herself) she get lonely very fast. she is a wander and has that air about her like an old chinese myth. you find her when you do not want her but need her, and just as mysteriously as she shows up she will disapear into the mist.

Relation to Spirit:  When she first wandered into the Cimarron, from a distance Esperanza thought she was a (sickly) Strider, after meeting Esperanza and Spirit She promised to keep an eye out for strider in the advent he might still be alive. she meets strider and tries to get him to go back to Esperanza but he has already started a new life. She meets Rain and Little Creek after getting Injured and needs medical care. 

History

Not much is known about this wandering mare. she is seen hear and there and never stays in once place for too long. Esperanza first met her before Spirit was captured. Amitiel wandered into her herds lands and Esperanza thought it was strider from a distance, she noticed he had gotten thinner and through he was sick. in panic and hope she ran to the dark figure. But it was not strider, it was a rather small mare. Esperanza looked her over, her coat was an odd shade of black and her eyes seemed cold. Amitiel asked Esperanza what had ogtten her so worked up. Esperanza explained herself. Amitiel did not have much to say, yet Esperanza took to her and welcomed her to stay the night in the herd. It was here she met Spirit, she saw great things in his future and new that he would one day make a great leader. upon seeing that the herd had no stable mature lead stallion however Amitiel offered to go out in search for Strider for Esperanza.

While she wandered around keeping an eye out for strider, Amitiel managed to get herself caught by some cowboys. But she was a smart mare and managed to slip away from them. The cowboys new they could sale her for alot of money and made chase. after she bit one of the men's fings clean off another Cowboy shot her. Amitiel kept on running and the humans thinking her for dead stopped chasing her. Amitiel traveld for days loosing blood. until one days she colaps on the banks of the river just infront of te Lakota tribe. she laid there through the night until when the sun begian to rise, A human boy, a young lakota and his mare found her. He tied ropes to Amitiel and his own horse and had his mare pull Amitiel out of hte cold water and into his own tent. He used his blankets and skins to warm her up and nursed her back to health. Once amitiel was able to stand the Lakota boy tied her up next to his mare outside of his tent. Amitiel knew she was safe her and had no will to fight, she knew once she was better, she would just slip off in the night

The Lakota boy's mare was called Rain, and acording to rain the boys name was little creek. Amitiel thanked the mare for saving her, and later when the boy got back from hunting, Amitiel thanked in in her horse way as well. Rain grew on Amitiel and she stayed about 3 weeks in the lakota tribe. and just like she had done so many others she sliped way in the night.

Months pasted then a year, and Amitiel was on her way to returning to the rockys her true home. however on the way there she passed a stunning bacl stallion, his coat almost as dark as her own. She new then who he was. she went to strider and tried to talk him into going back to esperanza. He first said that he did not know the way back. Amitiel offered to sow him the way, he then said Esperanza would not remember him but Amitiel had a reasoning for that as well. Finally Strider owned up to the real reason he could not return. He took Amitiel to a small band of horses. he said he had saved them from heavy draft labor on the rail roads. He said they where his new herd and that they needed him. Amitiel understood Strider but at the same time she refused to go back to Esperanza and spirit empty handed. so She bit off a chunk of striders mane to take back to esperanza as proof that he was atleast out there. when she returned to Esperanza the mare was both over joyed and sad, she thanked Amitiel and asked her to stay in the herd, but Amitiel refused saying she wasn't one for herds and with a short good by walked off to head back to her home.
