Personality

Personality: A slightly odd foal, who seemed very unimpressed by other’s emotions. Didn’t ever want to hurt others, though, and had strong morals he followed strictly. However, as he grew, he moved away from such morals and began lying and cheating, manipulating to get what he wanted. He lied nearly chronically, sometimes not even realizing it. He did this without thinking, and only once he got what he wanted did he realize what he was doing. He didn’t like it, and wished he could stop, but never did. He eventually just got worse and worse until he started weaving vast stories like spider webs, until he had come to a point that he would kill to cover up the truth. He was afraid of his mannerisms, but never did care to stop. He’s a great manipulator, but won’t put in the effort to do so if another animal is naïve enough to just hand him what he wants. In that case, he won’t be bothered to lie, but won’t tell the complete truth of his past, either. One thing that Flawed Design is interested most deeply is mares. He wants to seduce any and all the mares he can, mostly making them believe some sad backstory or that he is a kind stallion. Eventually, his dislike of his own lies dissolved.

History

Flawed Design was born in the Cimarron herd after Spirit, and he never did like his brother, even before he became herd leader. As a foal, he never did hang around the trouble-makers, and the mares were sure he’d be a good horse.

But he wasn’t.

As he grew, Flaw saw things. He wanted things. After he hit four, he wanted mares. So, he began his lying and manipulating. His favorite thing was finding stray mares, staying with them for some days and making them believe that he needed them, loved them. In fact, his greatest tool was making them think he needed them. Flaw would then seduce them, and then leave them. He was done with them.
After some time, Flaw seduced a particularly brazen mare from outside the herd. When he made it clear he was leaving, she realized what was happening and threatened to tell Spirit what he was doing. In fact Flaw didn’t believe her, but after he saw her the next morning near the herd, as if waiting to speak with Spirit, he led the mare off and murdered her without hesitation. The things he did, the lies he told, it all had to stay secret.

However, one of the herd-members came across the mare’s body, and immediately told Spirit. However, for a few more days, Flaw would be safe. No horse came forth to say that Flaw had led her off until he had seduced a mare inside the herd, but refused to stay with her. This was when one of the herd-mare’s friends remembered the incident and reported it to Spirit.

Flawed Design was promptly banished from the herd.

He wandered for many months, and went from herd to herd, continuing his lying and manipulating mares, never staying in one place. He eventually wanted to have a herd, but isn’t interested in really staying with a single mare…
