Name: Mosaic
Age: 2
Coat: Mosaic coating
Breed: American Mustang
Likes: solitude, peace, quiet, mares, the Lakota tribe.
Dislikes: humans, wranglers, the calvary, commitment, someone telling him what to do, mares asking a relationship with him, when he doesn't get what he wants.
Personality: One that enjoys being the center of attention but only at a certain amount of it. Because of his unique coat pattern, he gets too much of it. He's the type that asks for attention but gets frustrated when he gets too much of it and rejects the crowd. Because of this, he thinks his gift for having a unique coat pattern is more of a curse. After so much praise he's gotten at that one point where he just wants everyone to leave him alone. He can become moody when he wants to be so it's best if you don't cross his path in the first place. He knows he can't commit in a serious relationship with a mare so it bothers him when mares with big crushes on him try to become his mate. This stallion is very mysterious nobody knows what he wants.
Parents: unknown
Siblings: None (that we know of however there is an opening!)
Crush: None
Mate: None (open just PM me but I will be picky and it might only be temporary)
Foals: not a chance
Relationships:
The Calvary- Mosaic despises them, instead of treating him like a living being, they treat him like a object/trophy (whatever you want to call it) he's currently a calvary horse and hates every minute of it. They took him away from the Lakota Tribe which he used to reside in and he did not let that go unpunished for he gave them a hard time trying to take him back to the Calvary. They have him more of a show-horse instead of having him as a work horse or war horse, and they haven't attempted to break him which he's deeply thankful for.
The Lakota Tribe- Mosaic has a soft spot in his heart for them. Instead of how bad the "two-leggeds dressed in blue" are currently treating him, the Lakota Tribe treated him with respect, they saw him as a horse with feelings. A living being. They wouldn't bother him so much and they trusted him to graze on his own close to Lakota territory and to get near the other horses which rarely happened. The only thing that he didn't like was the first attempt to try to mate him with a mare to get more horses with a unique coat pattern like his. It didn't work out so they never tried to force him to mate with another mare again.
Current Location: the Calvary
History:
When Mosaic was a colt he had a lot of fillies admire him. His ego would grow every year and with the compliments he would get from his mother everday, it boost his ego more. He was quite the lady's man growing up thanks to his stunning coat. During his yearling years, it became more difficult for him to have peace and solitude when he wanted it because his coat would attract attention both good and bad. The mares would always ask him to be their mate and when he would get into a relationship with one of them, they were controlling of him and begged him to love only them and what made it worse was that Mosaic wasn't faithful in any relationship he entered in. Mares were fighting for him left and right, he just got tired of it and decided to stay a single stallion for some time. Regardless of that, he still didn't get the peace and quiet that he wanted, for mares would continue to follow him asking him to be theirs. His own mother was no support, constantly nagging him to settle down, find him a mate, and have lots of foals she would even try to find mares that would be "perfect" for him without letting him know. This continued until he turned 1 years old, he was just tired of being tied down and being told what to do, so he finally left. Maybe he will be able to find the independence he has been longing for. However this feeling of self relief didn't last, now that he was on his own, he had to start taking care of himself which he didn't know how to do. Grazing was one thing, but searching for water and protecting himself from two-leggeds, predators, or rogue stallions was another. Growing up without a father he never learned how to defend himself and with the attention that his coat draws, it'll only attract more trouble.
The farther he traveled away from home, the more he was getting lost. He didn't know where to go. He tried to use his sence of smell to try to find anything or anybody familiar but there was no luck. Everything was new and unfamiliar. He tried to keep things on the down low and so far things were going in his favor, until the following day when he found a river and of course he was parched. After being so focused on quenching his thirst, he finally heard a twig snapped behind him. The first thing he thought of was to run so he did at full speed. Then a mountain lion finally came out of the bushes and pursued after him snarling. Mosaic thought he lost it for a second until it tackled him and they both lost footing and started to roll down a hill that was beside them. When they finally reached the bottom the cat quickly recovered on it's feet but Mosaic couldn't recover fast enough, his leg was injured and he was on the verge of blacking-out. When the cat was about to claim it's prize, the last thing that Mosaic saw was "sharp sticks with feathers on the end" penetrating the cat. Finally Mosaic passes out but wakes up in a strange place the next day. He woke up surprised to still be alive and in a man-made stable then he smelled something bitter coming from his injured leg. He found blue dye and herbs wrapped around it; he wanted to see if he could stand up on it and to his surprise, he easily did with no pain. He didn't care what they put on his leg as long as he could walk on it. Then he heard someone walking up to him and he turned to see who it was. He saw a human slowly trying to get near him, reaching his arm out with a apple in his hand. This human had dark skin, long hair decorated with beads and feathers. More like him was close behind watching with anticipation. Mosaic new these people were noble and kind hearted. A part of him just new they were. He took the apple but still weary of them. After a few more days past in the Lakota Tribe and Mosaic started getting comfortable to where he didn't want to leave. They didn't bother him and they treated him with respect. They allowed him to graze alone near Lakota territory and he would still come back. The only memory he didn't like was when they almost forced him to mate with a convenient mare but with no success. They respected his choice and didn't bother him with that anymore. The Lakota gave him solitude and peace which was what he wanted for so long.
Mosaic was very happy with his new home but sadly that didn't last. One day he was grazing alone when he smelled something coming. A new scent and a very unpleasant one; not only that but he can hear hooves pounding against the ground and it sounded like more than one horse. It got closer until he saw in the distance a group of bland, brown horses ridden by men dressed in blue. When they came in contact with the village, people started shouting in a mixture of fright and war-cry. Everything was getting destroyed, people and horses were getting taken away. Mosaic sadly watched his home quickly dissappearing. He wanted to run over and help until a loop of rope wrapped around his neck and tugging him back. He turned back to find the Calvary soldiers with ropes trying to control him they also had some of the horses from the Lakota Tribe. With anger and frustration, he breighed, kicked, and bucked but alas no cigar. As they were finally leaving, he looked back finding the Lakota Tribe now a burnt waste land. With a broken heart and a huge resentment torwards the Calvary, he couldn't help but to give up, wasting his energy trying to escape was not getting him nowhere. They traveled for two days until they finally reached the desert with the fort in sight made of timber. Once they entered the gate, the Colonel demanded to get the rest of the horses groomed and tamed but once he saw Mosaic, he had a small pause in thought, seeing how unique this horse looked. At first glance Mosaic didn't like him of course the Colonel brings that out in anyone he meets. Finally the Colonel commanded the soldiers to get him groomed but to be tied to the post to get him use to the Cavalry Fort and the extreme heat. What really broke down his pride was when they cut his mane short. When it came to hot iron branding, the Colonel interfered and surprisingly disapproved saying that it will ruin his perfect coat. After that they tied him to the post and even when he was being fed, he had no freedom, no say in anything and the other Calvary horses felt threatened by him; jealous of the "special treatment" he was receiving and the mares were obviously crushing on him. Things were becoming the same way as it started, and it will take a long time for Mosaic to get use to things at the Calvary.

Um guys... I'm sorry if I got the breed wrong just because the coat
pattern was unique. I really didn't do my homework for that and I'm
sorry. But please let's focus on the character itself not just his
breed or coat |
