When Ayla first opend her eyes, she saw her mother. Her mother was laying still, not moving. Ayla called out to her mother, who had died giving birth to her. Her father told another mare to to take care of his daughter, who he found useless. Ayla tried to interact with the other foals, but they pushed her away, since she was a girl. Ayla spent two years in her fathers band, until Casimiro gave her away to another stallion for land. Forced to leave the only home she had ever known, Ayla Fallowed the stallion, but flinched when ever he got near her. The stallion, who's name was Jonathan, knew Ayla had fears. One cold night, Ayla was horrified by the night sounds. Jonathan circled her, inching closer with every move. He whispered Ayla's fears to her, and gently nuzled her neck. Ayla soon forgot her fears, and stayed next to Jonathan for his protection. Jonathan told Ayla her fears every time she was scared, and she forgot them. She soon grew to have deep affection for Jonathan, and would sometimes wait for her fears to show, just to feel him close to her. Ayla knew Jonathan shared her feelings, and knew he would admit it. Jonathan told his feelings, but said it softly. He lovingly nudged her, and whispered soft words of comfort in her ear.
