Evergreen: The mare that stole his heart and taught him what it felt like to love again. They both my be imperfect beings, but together they become perfect. Evergreen is his angel from heaven, sent to soften his cold hardened heart. Romanov would do anything for her and is fiercely protective of her as well. 

Biography:

In the Serpent's Path

When Romanov was just a yearling he somehow he got his right hind leg caught in some wire. After many hours of fighting it, he finally accepted what he thought was his fate. Later on an appaloosa mare found him, her name was Hotshot. Romanov pleaded with her to help him. The high and mighty mare took her time in deciding whether or not she wanted to help this "fool". She finally made a deal with the colt, that he would owe her a favor whenever she needed it. 

Of course Romanov agreed to this, but he didn't know she was a wolf in sheep's clothing...

The Serpent's Daughter

When Romanov was a young stallion at the peak of his third year he came across a very lovely filly. Now he had never fell head over heels for a mare before and he fell miserably for her. Nothing really mattered to him other than protecting and being with her, but she never told him the whole story. He was catering to a devil. Her hate still burned scorchingly hot inside her. She knew what she was doing, she was wrapping him around her hoof, manipulating him and he didn't even know it. 

For a whole year she led him on, making him believe he was her world. He even put up with her attitude with others and her bipolar fits. He couldn't see past her little persona and see the real black pit of tar she really was. He became her body guard and strong brute to help her get her way. He even did some dirty work for her. He didn't know it, but he was fulling his promise to Hotshot more than he knew. 

The Rise of the Darkness

Valkea and Romanov built a nice size band, all of which were ill-tempered horses who cared nothing for each other but all wanted to be in a higher rank than the other. Thier band was doing evil deeds, not caring who they hurt along the way.... but one day Romanov finally got shook out of his fantasy.

The Fallen Guard

Valkea had done some pretty bad things, but Romanov never really paid much attention to them... till one day. Valkea had ordered some of the guys to go and steal foals and bring them back to make for new members for the band. When they were brought back they had to pass an "inspection". Romanov had never been around to witness this, but happened to come back early from an "erran" that Valkea had sent him on. He came back just in time to see three helpless foals be murdered... what was worse... Valkea was standing right there and didn't even flinch in the slightest. 

Rage errupted from him deep within and he barged in the scene. Valkea looked startled but then quickly switched to her flattery. Romanov snapped back at her, bluntly telling her he didn't want nothing to do with sort of thing. The arguement heated up and the end result wasn't pretty. Valkea turned on Romanov and ordered the three brutes who were with her to take care of him quickly. 

Romanov killed one of the guards and injured another. After time he lost the third and escaped with his life, but they had left their mark on him... he was bruised and had a few bad cuts that would turn into scars. 

Promise of a Protector

From that day on Romanov dedicated himself to helping and protecting others, becoming a sort of guardian. He helped many horses, and even saved some foals from a horrible fate with Valkea. It was during one of these rescues that he met a orphan filly. She took to him like white on rice and eventually wiggled her way into his hard empty heart. He took her under his wing and it was then he decided to start a herd of his own.
