History:
Eva set out at a young age to find her brother. Her search was long, and being alone set her on edge. The young mare still traveled on, in hope that her brother was near. After days of searching, Eva came across a small spring. She took long drinks, and loved the feel of the cool water going down her dry throat. The endless journy continued. Eva's hooves ached, but she went on. The mare soon came to a canyon, but was unsure of what to think of it. She wanted to bolt, but a voice stopped her. She turned her head to see her brother standing there. He seemed to not like her near him, and flinched when she came near him. After a day with her brother, Eva couldn't take it any longer. She turned, and galloped far from the canyon and her brother. Days later, Eva was hungry and tired. She wanted to go home, but the truth was, she was lost. Eva sighed in anger and hurt, and looked behind often as if her brother had gone after her. The mare laid down in a soft patch of grass, and buried her head in her hooves.
When Eva opened her eyes, a stallion was looking at at her. Eva flinched, but the stallion seemed like he was not going to hurt her, so Eva got up, but backed away. The stallion eyed her, but said nothing.
"Don't hurt me!" Eva whimpered. The stallion seemed to smile, but didnt show it. He slowly walked up to the frightend mare, and stopped. Eva slowly looked up, and paused. She was not sure of what to say. The stallion made up his mind, and told the mare to fallow him. She did, but still was not sure. The stallion was also unsure of the mare. Eva noticed, but kept silent. They came to a beautiful place, and Eva felt a jolt of joy in her heart. This place felt safe. Safe from harm. The stallion walked past her and reasted under the shade of a large tree. Eva slowly made her way to him. She stopped, but then walked on again. When she reached the stallion she smiled.
"You have not told me your name," She said shyly.
"It's Trench," The stallion said. "You should tell me yours."
Eva looked down. "Evangelina," She said softly.
Eva looked up, her shyness slowly fadding. She walked slowly closer to Trench, and felt his eyes stare into her. Eva felt shy again, but shook it off. Maybe Trench would alow her to stay with him? She sighed, and relaxed. The night slipped in, but clouds hid the moon's light. Thunder was heard in the distance. Eva shook from her fear. Thoughts swarmed her head. Trench felt the mare trembling, and decided to comfort her. He slowly nudged her neck, and felt her relax. But her eyes were still wide with fear. Eva rested her head on Trench#39;s neck, and tried to think of pleasant things. The storm passed, and morning came. Eva was filled with joy, as she grazed. The day seemed to be warm, and showed no signs of danger. She looked up to see Trench staring at her, and gently nickered. Trench was surprised, but tried not to show it. He dropped his head, and ate the sweet grass. Eva rolled her eyes, and decided to do the same.
A week passed, and Eva started to fall for Trench. She would try to get closer to him, but her shyness would alway overcome her. A night when the moon was casting a glow on the land, Eva found herself next to Trench, as they stood there. She gently nudged his face, and waited for a reaction Trench returned the nudge, and nickered gently to her. The mare who had once left her herd to find her brother, and had wanted to return home, now wanted just Trench. She felt safe by his side, and wanted to always be by his side. Trench would leave for a few hours, but he would come back. He brought back mares with him, filling in the land. Eva became friends with some of the mares, and was glad for their company and for Trenches.
More coming soon.
