History

Penny For  Thought was born to an ex-showing horse named Desiree in England. Her mother had been force breed by her father, London Pride to bear a top show foal. Penny was this foal. Peny began her training at a young age, but proved to stubborn to be ridden for showing. She was sold quickly at an expensive price to be used as a broodmare, coming from a good line, the buyer had high hopes until Penny refused all of the stallions, kicking at them and nipping. She wanted to have a foal with a stallion she loved, not like her mother had been bred. She was sold from buyer to buyer, never staying for more than a few months at a time. When she was three she was shipped overseas to be used as a working horse, but was sold there as well. A man from the cavalry bought her, knowing that he could train her just as they trained the wild mustangs that were brought in. Penny began t live a life of despair in the cavalry. The hot dry desert was unlike anything she had ever experienced and her and the other horses weren't treated well.A handsome golden stallion was brought in one day after Penny had been at the cavalry for many days. She felt a flicker of hope when she saw him, recognizing the fight and courage in his eyes that she had once had. When the lakota boy was brought in as well, Penny became even more hopeful. Sure enough, the horse and the Lakota brke free one day, and when the gate was opened Penny was off, the soreness in her legs forgotten. It was a joy to feel the wind in her mane again as well as the open land stretching out forever in front of her. She vowed never to be caught or ridden again, that she would be free to be who she wanted, and free to be with who she wanted.
