Persona: Strong. a surviver. strong willed. somewhat suborn. family means everything to her. protective and a fighter. she comes off as a tomboy and sometimes a loner but she is very caring and as a sweet heart. She doesn't like to show others her personal emotions and is very pensive towards love and males in general. she can be a bit pointed and sarcastic to males. she is a very private mare and only shares her thoughts with her best friends

Likes: Talking with Ponyo, playing with Flit, traveling with her friends. time to herself every now and then.

Dislikes: how ignorent Thrope can be. the loss of Cedar & Strider. how her sister hates her. How she cannot seem to recue her brother Devadra.

History

Demeter was born in a small herd not far from the cimarron she grew up there alaong with her sister Esperanza & her brother Devarda. She had always had a soft spot for the lead stallion Cedar. But he had a slight fancy for Esperanza. Demeter never really voiced her thoughts about Cedar to her sister, because Esperanza didn't have eyes for him. But when a black stallion named Strider came into thier herd, Demeter watched her sister fall head over hills for him. Only probalem was, Strider had his eyes set on Demeter. Esperanza begain to  grow jealous of Demeter, but Demeter didn't like strider her heart beat for Cedar. the two sisters where caught in a very complicated and very dangerious love triangle. as things where about to boil over between the two stallions a horrible storm cut through the lands. Cedar, Demeter and Devadra and the rest of hte herd got seperated from Strider & Esperanza. Demeter didn't want to leave Cedar as his eyes had finally started reconizing Demeter as something more, but Demeter was to worried about her sister to be happy about it. after Devadra pleaded with her, Demeter left with him in search for thier sister. Cedar was furious thinking that she was really going to find strider. Eventually Demeter and Devadra sound Esperanza she had started a herd with Strider in the cimarron herd. Strider was over joyed to see Demeter again, and Demeter was happy to see her sister alive. But Esperanza wasn't happy to see her at all. with the way stider was looking at her. Strider took Demeter in as one of his mares. Demeter wasn;t happy about this but stayed because she wanted to be near her sister. as time went on Esperanza became lead mare. and would try to keep Demeter as far away from strider as possible. Demeter begain to notice how sharp and cold her sister was being with her, and was confused but above all else hurt.

The that day came, Esperanza ran Demeter out of the herd, Devadra followed her out of the herd because he was just a yearling and didn't want her alone out there by herself. when strider herd about what Esperanza did he went out to find Demeter and bring her back. Esperanza tried to balme it on hormons but the truth was it wasn't her pregancey it was what she really wanted.While strider was out looking for Demeter he noticed she was being trailed by cowboys. before he could get to her, one of the men roped Devarda, the other human was going to rope Demeter but strider pushed her out of the way and the rope went around his neck, he nearly draged the man and his horse and snatched the rope off of Devadra's neck telling the two to run. they did as told and fled for it, neither of them thought however that that would be the last time they would ever see the black stallion again. Strider was killed at the calvary after being far to wild and killing the man whom had tried to break him

Demeter and Devadra did not go back to the cimarron nor did they try and find Cedar. they traveld around on there own. but they where soon picked up by a ruthless Rouge stallion whom wanted Demeter as his mare. Devadra tried to protect  his sister, and the stallion wounded him severly demeter tried to stay at her brothers side, but the stallion forced her away.Demeter traveled with the stallion for a long time as he was to strong for her to take on alone. But one day a golden opertunity came along. Demeter saw a mare whom had indain marking on her with a small Colt, and Hinny walking along in the distance. Demeter thought that they might help her as the Mare looked kind. She fled from the stallion but her chased after her. Demeter kicked the stallion with her hind legs but this just made him mad. The mare in the distance saw Demeters struggle and asked the Hinny if he would help her. The Hinny didn't seem to thrilled about it but ran to Help Demeter out. He was huge..nothing like a normal Hinny, his father had to have been a draft horse. he fought the stallion and won, when teh stallion feld the mare and the colt ran over to Demeter and the Hinny. The mare said her name was Ponyo and that she was an retired lakota horse, the Hinny stallion was called Thrope, and the colts name was Flit. They said they where brought together because of a horrible band stallion whom was stealing herd members from other herds, and killing off those whom would not go with him. Flit said that they saw a new colt with this eveil band stallion. when Flit said what the colt looked like Demeter new it was her younger brother. the group said that they would help her get him back. and so she decided to ravel with them.
