Personality: Ambitious and tough. She doesn't take crap from anyone and is willing to fight for it. She can be snippy and headstrong but only because it's what she thinks is best for the group. She's a good speaker and is also good at getting horses to listen to her points. She used to be much freindler but the loss of someone close to her has made her colder and embittered. 

 

Herd Name: Burning Hills Herd (Splinter group)

 

Members: Red Rave, Bluejay, Cardinal, Goldfinch, Bluebird, and Robin

 

Location: Badlands

 

Stallion/Mate: Red Raven

Relation to Spirit: Is mates with Spirit's Nephew; knew his brother as well. 

 

Bio: Her mother joined the herd on bad terms while pregnant with Blackbird. Many mares assumed her mother was a floozy and bullied her; as well as Blackbird when she was born. Obsidian: the leader would not stand for it and often punished those who would harass them.

 

Blackbird always had a crush on Red Raven; who was a year older than her. But Red Raven never noticed her; being busy fighting with Stone or doing other tasks for the herd. Stone however, took great interest in her and often hit on her;  he never took things too far although he made her uncomfortable and insulted her when she didn't respond to his advances. 

 

Stone took Quartz as a mate soon after and she became pregnant. The birth was hard on the young mare and she was too weak to do anything but nurse the foal who was named Flint. Blackbird was assigned to watch over and protect him. 

 

She grew very close to Flint; considering him her own son which infuriated Quartz. The older mare would often bully Blackbird out of jealousy. Around this time Red Raven took interest in her and they became mates. 

 

Then the flood happened and many horses drowned; including Flint. Blackbird blamed herself for not looking out for him but wouldn't let any other horses say the same. Quartz attacked her. Blackbird used the attack and other evidence to convince half of the survivors that Red Raven would be a better leader than Stone. 

 

Blackbird became the lead mare of the splinter group. She later had a daughter: Bluebird and helped raise a lost yearling named Rogue. She currently still leads the splinter group.
