Character: River is a soft, quiet and caring mare. She loves Looking-Glass with a passion, and feels guilty for loving him because of his mate. She can't help but feel ping of jealousy when she sees them together. Everytime she thinks about her dark past, she tears up, and can't hold them back. She wishes to live a happy life.

Bio:

River was the first born of Spirit and Rain. She left the herd when she was round about 3, and joined the cavalry fort. Her father found out and was so furious, he tried to kill his daughter.

River made a hasty escape, and lived alone in the wild for a few months. That's when she met an old mare named Adah. She taught River how to survive alone in the wild. When a cougar attacked Adah, it killed her. Once again, River cheated death.

For another few months she was on her own, until she met a stallion named Mordecai. He seemed kind, but again, he only wanted to breed her. When he did breed her, he was unsuccessful to create a foal. He kept River from the world. At this point she was 4. 

Then she ran into the lakota village. She lived there for a few months, then wandered off. 

That's when she met him. A grand buckskin stallion, with blue eyes, that almost put her in a trance. She fell in love with him, but wasn't sure if he liked her. He took her to his herd, and she became a mare. She watched him every move.
