History :
Shinning Moon is the daughter of The Colonel and an Unknown Lakota Indian sadly her mother was sick before Shinning Moon was born and sometime before Shinning Moon was growing into a young child her mother passed away. Moon lived with her dad at the US Army fort in the desert for most of her life until one day she decided she wanted to make a change and stop obeying her dad’s orders. Her dad being the The Marshal hade a lot of say so and orders to give and people and animals to either keep or let go or even kill in some cases. Shinning Moon dislike her dads duties and didn’t want anything to do with it. She hated living with the soldiers with their long guns and their arrogant ways. She hated how the horses were like slaves and weren’t free. Shinning Moon wanted out and she wanted to go back to her home her original birthplace …
Although Shinning Moon was very young when her mother passed away she remembers the village she lived in and the people and horses she saw their as a young girl. She wanted to go back. She remember her mother and how she was always her happiest by her side and how her mother taught her the way of her people and how to ride horses and everything so that she could survive on her own one day; if needed. Shinning Moon goal in life was to return home to the Lakota tribe and lived their forever in peace and harmony, but her dad had other plans.
One Shinning Moon’s 22nd Birthday she made up her mind on what she was going to do. She was going to return home back to the Lakota tribe and live their. Her father didn’t like that very much and didn’t see why / understand why she wanted to. He told her that she would never go back there because of how their was nothing left for her there, her mother is dead and her only family is him. He gave her orders to leave the fort and go and live in England and to start a new life. Shining Moon wasn’t hearing that and on the night before she had to leave to England she ran away to the Lakota Village. Her father wasn’t the smartest of people but he was smart enough to have his soldiers stand guard at the Lakota Village and when she got their they were waiting for her. They brought her back to the Fort before sunrise where her father was waiting. Her father then pulled her closer to him and slapped her telling her how she was ungrateful and how if she ever returned to the Lakota Village he’d born it down, then put her on the back of his horse and started to head for the train station. Shinning Moon was devastated and couldn’t jump off the horse because her hand was tied behind her back and his horse was going way to fast.
They finally made it to the train station and The Colonel untied her and got her down from his horse. He then told her how he was only doing the best for her and how she would be grateful one day. Shinning Moon was in tears. She then said her goodbyes at a faint whisper and got on the train. The train pulled off and the Colonel watch as the train left a few miles then decide to leave to go back to the army fort. Shinning Moon was sitting in the corner crying to herself and then she stop and remember how her horse River always used to play around here. She then went by the window and started to whistle for her. She whistle for her again and again but at last their was no sign of her. Shinning Moon was about to turn around and give up all hope but then she saw River running towards the moving train. Shinning Moon let out a scream of joy and pushed the door open. Shinning Moon hade to jump off the moving train onto River. She held her breathe and prayed and then move back a little then jumped. She made it!! She then hugged rivers and headed towards the Lakota Village. She traveled all day and all night and finally made it home. The Lakota Indians greeted her with open arms and told her that the will never let The Colonel know her where about and how they will keep her and her horse safe forever.
