History

Born from a Clydesdale mare who worked most of her life hauling coal from a large mineshaft located somewhere in the mountains. Colby was never meant to be born. When his mother was in a pasture, one of the stallions got loose from his stall and saw the mare in the pasture. Through her months of carrying the unborn foal, along with pulling the carts over-filled with coal the mare seemed to struggle and after Colby was born, he only got to be with his mother for a few short hours. One day when he was a few weeks old, one of the workers carelessly left the mare's stall door open and Colby, after waking from his sleep to find the door open and his mother gone, he ventured out to find his mother to only get lost. If his mother ever tried calling him back, it was nearly impossable to hear each other through the noise of a busy mineshaft. When he got lost in the forest after a few hours of searching through a couple miles of the mineing areas, and people who saw him tried to capture him. He ran into the forest until he could go no more and he chose to sleep next to a rock. When he woke, he saw a doe grazing near him with a fawn trotting around playfully. Colby followed the fawn around but the doe seemed to act motherly to the lost foal.

Colby grew off of Mother Doe's milk and he grew taller than the Mustangs that the doe and the other deer were used to seeing. Colby has protected the mother he knew and a few other deer from cougars and wolves who threatened them, the sick, the old, and the young. 

Colby has never had good luck with the other smaller horses that roamed free through the lands. The stallions always seemed hostil towards him and Colby would always try to avoid the fights.

There was one herd in particular who he always seemed to keep an eye on. The reason, a dark dun colored young mare caught his attention. For her age, she still acted as if she was a wild filly. Her rare green eyes were the first thing he would always catch first. He would stand a safe distance from the herd just to watch her in the times he dared to leave Mother Doe and the others to watch this one mare that he would love to just have one chance to meet.
