Dusk of the Cimarron

The mother of Nara and the grandmother of Samba, and once lead mare of the stallion, Wind. She's birthed a few of his foals and the last one by him and the last foal she had was Nara. When Nara was only a few months old, her, Dusk, and a few mares of the herd was parted from the others because of a rough snow storm and another herd's stallion found them and took them into his herd for protection. 

There, Dusk made sure that Nara grew up safe. Dusk may not have become the herd's lead mare, but the few mares that were left of the herd they had still looked to her as the lead mare, which sometimes caused a little trouble between Dusk and the true lead mare, Agrima. But after Dusk made it clear that they didn't mean any disrespect, the fights between them ceased.
