Cobalt was born into a small herd and was kicked out as soon as he became a yearling. He wandered for days till he met a young bay stallion named Storm. The two became traveling companions and soon after they meet a young red roan stallion named Rhoan. The three were very close, like if they were brothers. The trio traveled for years till one day when Cobalt and Rhoan were captured by Running Wolf and some other indians. Rhoan was taken to Running Wolf's village and Cobalt was taken to Garrett's ranch. Cobalt was greeted by three young foals and Garrett. Garrett leaded him into a pen were he can meet the other horses safely. Cobalt was weary at first till he saw Apache and knew he'd be his compition around the ranch.
