Personality: Shadow is a very high spirited mare, she loves to goof around every now and then but will straighten up when it comes to her lifes work, she is the least bit selfish and loves to make others feel good about themselves. She had great mothering instincts which is why she is one of the most trusted broods in the whole of Eagerdale stud ^^

History:
Shadow was born into hell, or the cavalry as some call it. She never really payed attention to all th cruelty that was going on around her or how much her parents fought. Her father was devoted to his job and so, didnt let his 'little girl' get in the way of his duties. He would selfishly take up her time most of the day by teaching her to be a good cavalry horse. Of course, her being so young, she didn't exactly get it but pretended to as whenever she asked questions; he would punish her in unimaginable ways. Her mother never saw this so she didn' beleive Shadow. Shadow was weaned off her mother early and when she was split from her, she went berserk. She was cooped up in a small pen near the main coral, made to just run and run until she collapsed on the ground. She would often get whipped and picked on by the cavalry soldiers, resulting in her ending up in tears. One night; Shadows mother broke free and reunited with Shadow, she saw Shadow's scars from the men and they both managed to slip out through quite a large hole in the main fence. They didnt go unnoticed though. All the cavalry men were after the two... Including Shadow's dad. Shadow had alot more stamina than her mother and so, instead of running, they hid. They hid for a top of 6 hours before the men were way west. The two set off to find a new herd to live in.

Shadow and her mum stayed in numerous herds, care free and finally happy. Shadow was now 4 and her mother was beginning to show ageing (She gave birth to shadow a little older than she should have) So Shadow had to care for her mother; taking her with the herd to different grazing spots. One sunny day, Shadow and her mother decided to find a last and final herd to spend the rest of her mothers life. They set off but were soon confronted by a group of humans. Shadow witnessed her mum get captured almost instantly but it took a while for Shadow to get caught. She was finally out smarted and the two were taken to Eagerdale Stud. It was a busy place and frightened Shadow, they were put in a paddok together until they began to trust the humans and finally; when Shadow's mother sadly passed away, Shadow depended on the humans for support. They were now all she had.

Shadow is now 6 and still lives at Eagerdale, she trusts the humans more than she had veen trusted her mother. She is a broodmare, happy with her life and passion; bringing new life into the world.
