History: Phantom was born in the midst of a wild storm, sheltered by a large cave with soft sand on the ground. Cyron and Shina nuzzled each other, bubbling with pride and both whispered, "Dusk Phantom" to one another. The little foal pricked his ears curiously. They knew he would someday grow to be a handsome stallion.
Phantom stayed with his little family for the first few years of his life, but as he grew older, he got more independent and longed to find a mate and start a family of his own. Soon he left his family and wandered, looking for a land to call his own. One day he was grazing and heard thundering hoofbeats coming up from the left of him and Phantom whipped round to see a ugly stallion charging towards him. Too late Phantom leapt into action and burst into a gallop and he could hear the other horse catching up to him, fast. What had he done to cause this, Phantom thought as the chase continued. Suddenly the stallion rammed him in the ribs then charging back, kicked, struck and bit. Phantom winced in pain everytime a blow connected, but he kept running. After a while, he could no longer stand the pain. Blood ran freely from open wounds and he swayed from exaustion. The other stallion kept striking and eventually poor Phantom was beaten to the ground. Phantom searched the other equine's face. It's eyes were cold and gleamed with cruel amusment. Horror shook through him as he realised that his attacker was only doing this for the thrill of the fight and satisfaction of the kill. Somewhere deep inside him a spark ignited and his peaceful soul dissapeared. Fighting shouldn't just occur for sport; it was meant to decide who had the right over mares and land. Fury burned through him. No matter what it took, Phantom was not going to be defeated by this bloodthirsty maniac. Leaping to his feet, he lunged back at the horse and landed a deadly hit above it's eye with his hoof. He kept hitting back until the other stallion was defenceless on the ground and Phantom had no strength left. Lame, he limped away, knowing that he would not be bothered again.
