Bio: Awinita was born in a large herd, the daughter of the lead mare and stallion. Her mother named her Awinita (which is Cherokee for 'fawn') because of the bird catcher spots on her body. When it came time for the colts and fillies her age to leave the herd, she chose to join a smaller band that was in the same territory. Because of her personality, she was bullied by the other horses in the band. She was very lonely, until she came across a stallion named Orion. He was very charming and told her to call him Black. It was love at first sight. Very shortly afterwards, the two mated. In turn, it wasn't vry long afterwards that Awinita discovered she was pregnant. The other horses looked upon her with disfavor since she had gotten pregnant by a rogue stallion. Awinita was quite shocked and embarrassed by the whole ordeal, and hesitated to tell Black, afraid that he had just used her. After two days, Awinita looked for Black, but finding him gone, assumed her fears has been correct. 11 months later, Awinita gave birth to a healthy black filly who she named Chase. Sadly, her happiness was short lived when Stone, a violent stallion, took over the herd. She tried to escape with her daughter, but Stone rounded them up with the other mares. Suddenly, Awinita caught a glimpse of a black stallion galloping towards Stone. It was Black! He had come to save her and her daughter. She tried following him through the crowd of mares, and witnessed in horror as Stone nearly killed him and chasecd him off. Awinita then knew she was doomed. Years passed and the herd became larger. Many mares and foals died of starvation sonce they were not allowed to look for food. Awinita was emaciated and tortured, always seeing Black at a distance. One day, Awinita tried to call out to him, but he didn't hear her. Shortly after this, Awinita lost the will to live. As she laid on the ground to die she called to her daughter. "Chase," she said to the young mare. "Avenge me, succeed where I have failed, and remember I will always love you." Then, she closed her eyes and breathed her last. It is believed that Awinita's ghost still roams the Badlands, watching over Chase...and her father.
