Bio: Black spent his entire life as a rouge, born to a lone mare in the middle of the plains. He wasn't very interested in making a herd for himself and spent his days wandering the wilderness. One day, he stumbled upon a horse herd, where a lovely strawberry roan caught his eye. Her name was Awinita. Black began to court her and Awinita fell in love with him. Shortly after, the two mated. When Awinita found she was pregnant, it was certain who the father was. Awinita was embarrassed and hesitated to tell Black. When Awinita did not appear that night, Black assumed she didn't really love him and ran off. As Black continued his travels, he realized how much he still loved Awinita, and decided he would return to her, even though she probably had a new mate. However, as he returned he found that Awinita and her band had been captured by a stallion named Stone. As he tried to get closer to the herd, the powerful grullo stallion chased him off. "Please sir," he begged. "Let me see my mate, I must know what happened to her." "Your mate?" Stone laughed cruelly. "All of these mares belong to me! Now get out of here, you nag!" Full of sorrow, Black followed the herd at a distance, never catching sight of his beloved Awinita. The herd was becoming too large, Stone would not let them look for new grazing grounds and a lot of the horses were dying. "If I were leader," thought Black. "I would not be so cruel as to let these mares suffer out of my fear they will try to escape." Sadly, there was nothing he could do, since he was too old to fight Stone. Many months passed and Black came across a horrible discovery: the dead bod of Awinita. At this he cried out in despair, causing several of the horses to look up at him. One of them was a pretty young mare with blue eyes, a coal-black body, and she had a snip and two white legs just like Awinita. Black was puzzeled by this mare in more ways then one. A long time passed and the herd was taken over by a new stallion, Red Raven. Black, feeling like the was no reason to follow the herd any longer, went off to be a loner and explore the Badlands; possibly to create a herd himself. Sometimes, he thinks he can still hear Awinita's voice in the wind. He is still puzzeled about the lead mare whose name he found out was Chase. He believes there is a strong possibility that Chase is his daughter since she has Awinita's markings and his coat and eyes. He knows that Chase will probably be angry with him if he ever confronts her. So, he prefers to travel, looking for mares and keeping watch over the Northern Badlands herd, a long distance away.
