Personality and Charactaristics:
Personality: Mato is a kind and gentle stallion. He is a thinker and he thrives on observing others from a distance and learning from their behaviours. He cares deeply for the Lakota people and identifies greatly within their families. He feels himself a protector and bravely watches over the ones that he cares for. One person that he cares for greatly is Misae, the Lakota girl who raised him.
Mato can be rather sardonic at times and rather critical of people around him. It's a part of him that he tries desperately to control. He rarely allows it to overcome him though.
Likes: His girl; speed; being alone; time to think; wind.
Dislikes: Actions without thought; haughty stallions; closed mindedness.
History:
Mato was found one morning, slick with the wetness of dawn, curled beneath the shade of a dogwood tree. All around him his herd stood grazing, oblivious to the new born colt and his mother who lay dead beside him.
He was found by an eager Lakota Sioux girl with dark hair and surprisingly light and expressive eyes. He took to her instantly, and only for the second time, stood to follow her home.
Misae spent all of her time with him. She gave up her life to raise the foal and so Mato swore his life to her as her loyal friend.
