A Little Explanation:  Ma'er was created as a fan character of Malcolm Reynolds after the show Firefly. I hope to start a herd for the characters soon. I tell you this just so that you don't bombard me with accusations of stealing Mal.

A Little More Explanation: I am changing the entire way that I do my images. From this moment on all of my images will be colored in with my own characters, with their markings, thus:

1) YOU MUST either PM me or COMMENT if you want to use it

2) When you do that YOU MUST ASK which means using specific words like 'please'. If you don't ask- then no render for you!

3) If you do ask then I will PM you the blank version, with or without lines around the edges, along with other details that I will be happy to add for you! (IE: feathers, no feathers. Feather in the mane, no feather in the mane. Female or male. Stuff like that, little details) No more telling me that you are using them before or after the fact.

Name: Duishang Ma’er ke mu (Captain Malcolm in Chinese, Mal for short)

Age: Adult

Coat: Red paint

Breed: unknown

Likes: Ma'er loves the rain, the heavier the drops, the flashier the lightning, and the more ominous the clouds the better. He also enjoys being alone and having as little interaction as possible with the outside world. You wouldn't know at first glance of his muscular, rugged appearance, but Ma'er never lets anything slide. If you do something wrong, or even rude, he will make you pay- and enjoy doing it.

Dislikes: Ma'er hates being hot and will often be found being lazy in the shade somewhere. He also dislikes other rude stallions. He is unfortunate enough to be cursed with a nasty temper, which is about the only emotion you'll ever see from him, side the occasional smirk. He hates anyone being mistreated or anyone taking advantage of those that can't defend themselves and will quickly right the wrongs. That brings about another item that he dislikes- credit

Character: Ma'er is very quiet and keeps to himself most of the time, which doesn't make him very popular amongst the other horses or the Sioux tribesmen. His fiery temper doesn't help much either. It has gotten him into trouble more than once when he gets physical with the other stallions or humans. Overall: he's gruff, rude, but sensible and has schemed successful escape plans several times. Despite his unbecoming disposition, he does have a very good heart and will do what is right, or avenge the fallen or hurt, under most circumstances. He's just a grump in doing so

Relationships

Family: Both Ma'er's dame and sire are deceased, but he did grow up with his dame for the first few years of his life

Siblings: None

Foals: Why?

Mate: Not a chance

Crush: He's not one for love. Well, at least he'll never admit it.

Relationships: Just enough. You're should hold you friends so close it's as if they fit in the palm of your hand. Your enemies you should be able to count with those same fingers.

Herd: Ma'er, over the course of his generally lonely life has managed to gather a small collection of stallions and mares that follow his leadership and stay out of his way. Owner: No matter how hard anyone ever tried, Ma'er is convinced that a human, whether Indian or not, would slow him down and get in the way. He is far too independent, with the exception of his small gang, to have a lasting relationship with anyone

History

Ma'er was born multiple years ago and was raised by a small pioneer family that was the first to settle in the new land once the train tracks were layed down. Both the human's husband and Ma'er's father were killed in the dangerous treck to his home, so it was up to the females to take care of the unfertile land.

Ma'er's mother, no one knows her name, was a strong worker and loved him more than her world, which was pretty dismal. Ma'er was a handful little trouble-maker when he was a young colt, but quickly adapted to the heavy work of farm life once his human found out that he could use his energy productively.

One day, some men in blue came to the small range and demanded horses. Ma'er's dame was considered to be a good, strong horse for breeding, but Ma'er volunteered for her.

At the Calvary, he went through rigorous training and beatings until he became the best Calvary horse there was, eventually becoming the ride of the Lieutenant. It was then that the infamous attack occurred by the soldiers attacking the Lakota. Watching in horror at the destruction and death that the blue clothed men brought to the defenseless Indians, Ma'er discovered his temper and raced into battle- against the soldiers- saving multiple Indian lives.

After the battle, he vanished into the wilderness that he grew up in, but still kept an eye on the village that served, in a way, the place of his second birht or enlightenment. Being the redskins' guardian angel got quite boring after a short time, and since the memories of his dead dame kept him from returning to their once was home, he started wandering the mountainous regions that he dreamed of when he was a little colt.

A lonely soldier.
