Sheila was born to a stallion named Cedar and a mare named Sheele. She had many brothers and sisters at this time, but her favourite sibling was Strider. The two of them loved to play allot…they loved to fight too. But Strider was a fast learning foal and Cedar (their father) seemed to give Strider special attention and Sheila slowly grew jelous of Strider. The jealously lasted until Sheila was around 1 ½, when she started to realize that her father wasn’t the stallion she would want attention from. She didn’t know whose attention she did want, but it certainly wasn’t any of her siblings or her fathers.
One night, Sheila went to her favourite part of the creek that ran through the herds land. She loved to go there at ngiht to be on her own. But tonight she wasn’t on her own. Sheila trotted into the water and started to drink, with her body half in the water, when she felt someone staring at her. Sheila looked up to find a handsome brindle stallion watching her, from the other side of the small creek. Sheila started to panic and turned, bounding out of the water but the stallion crossed the thin creek and tried to catch up, “Wait!” Sheila turned but made sure they had a long distance between each other, “Who are you?” the stallion gave a reassuring smile. “I’m Cass.” Cass started to talk with Sheila - about nothing of importance, he just had a long talk with her.
Eventually Sheila realized that the sky was slowly growing lighter and told him she had to go back to her father. She laid heavy empathis on the word father Cass just smiled and apologized for keeping her to himself. As he said that, Sheila noticed the mischevious gleam in his eyes. Despite herself, she felt drawn to this young stallion and didn’t want him to leave forever, “I guess…I’ll never see you again huh?” Cass had told her that he had business to do around the area.
It wasn’t long until Cedar caught Cass’ scent. Cedar searched for Cass for nights but the rough stallion either wasn’t found, or hid if he was. At this time, it was obvious Sheila’s mother was pregnant and she often snapped with Sheila. Of course, the filly hated this. So because of the extra fights, Sheila went off on her own more and more. Making it easy for Cass to find her again. When Sheila came to her area of the creek again, she found Cass already there, grazing happily. He looked up at Sheila with a smirk when the filly trotted toward the creek.
The two of them spoke again, until Sheila told Cass that she had to go.
The next day, both her mother and her father were snapping at her. Sheila started to fight back againt her mother, biting and kicking, causing Cedar to address his daughter. He tried to simply warn her to leave ALL of the pregnant mares, but Sheila was being stubborn and gave smart remarks back to Cedar. The black stallion gave her a light nipe – not strong enough to hurt her, but strong enough to send a message to her. Sheila bit back.
So for the rest of the day the two of them argued, and bit one another. Cedar continued to nip Sheila when she got too annoying but he tried to not be too rough.
Again, that night Sheila went off on her own. Snd Cass turned up a short time afterward. Sheila hardly knew Cass, but she begged him to take her far away from her herd. Cass readily agreed and led her away that night. The two of them made their way across allot of land, until they started toward the mountains. After a few days, Cass led Sheila to a small valley nestled between two mountains. There a forming herd of only five fillies waited for Cass. At first Sheila felt jelous of the others and tried to fight them when they wanted attention from Cass, but it soon became clear that Sheila was his favourite so she backed off a bit.
Cass tried to mate with Sheila but she panicked so he backed off for a few months. He tried again but the same thing happened. It went on like this for some time, until Cass had fully won Sheila’s trust.
Sheila felt ready for a foal finally, but duringthe birth, the foal died. Sheila was thrown into depression for some time. Cass tried to comfort her every chance he got but nothing seemed to help Sheila. The herd was still small, so one day Cass left for a quick mare/filly round up. The short trip was long enough though. Another stallion that was on his own round up, came across Cass’ herd. This stallion was far older and used allot more force to get the fillies to go with him. The stallion didn’t take all of the fillies, but one that he did take was Sheila. Sheila tried to fight to stay, but she was only a filly, and he was a stallion in his prime years.
Sheila spent around two years with this stallion – the whole time Cass searched desperately for his favourite filly (now mare). Sheila made sure she kept away from the stallion if he wanted to mate.
Eventually Cass found the stallions hidden herd and had a brief fight with his new enemy. Cass then left abruptly, only to return later and attack again. He was raiding his strength so to speak. So Cass did this continuously. He was able to do stay up and attack at night due to his ‘youthful’ energy and strength.
After two days, Cass defeated the stallion and claimed his herd. Cass and Sheila spent days together after that, overjoyed to be together again.
For a few years Sheila lived happily with Cass and his growing herd but one day, Sheila was out exploring the area yet again, when a strange two legged creature found her….
