ThunderBolt was just a few hours old when he was separted from his herd and more importantly his Mother.

Luckily for the colt, Spirit was roaming nearby, and smelt the colt but no one else and decided to investigate.
When he saw a colt stumbling around in a open field Spirit felt sorry for the colt and lead him back to his own herd.
Rain gladly took care of the colt and allowed him to nurse off her along with her own son Cimarron. Cimarron was excited about the new colt, and wanted to play! Play! Play with him! Thunderbolt was apprehensive of Cimarron at first but quickly changed his mind and the two became fast friends and Brothers even!
