Personality: Perceptive, honest, kind, though acts cold, aloof, and slightly naughty. He likes to tease others (esspecialy Lozania). He is selfless and protective, and acts very heartless to keep others away in order to protect them from the hunter. His little sister, Tokina, anoys him alot, he loves her and is very protective of her. They are very close, despite him always trying to chase her off and loose her, and her openess with others worries him.
History: Born into a smaller indian tribe with few horses, he and his twin were the only colts born that fall. Because of this, they became very close and often would pull pranks on the fillys and yearlings. Their mother had trouble keeping track of them, but the older tribe horses watched them closely and would often complain to Willow about her sons rambunctious behavior. Willow would just smile and apologize. She was a very caring mother and adored her sons, and would often remark how both had traits of their father in them. Whenever the colts asked about their father, Willow would tell them, never by name, about how she met him and how he died bravely. Both colts admired the stories of their father, and often wished they could have met him.
A year later, Willow fell in love with a new stallion the tribe had traded for. The colts weren't sure if this ment their mother didn't love their father anymore (they were at the point were they were just starting to notice fillys as more then anoying) until their mother gave them a little talk that cleared that up and later Willow gave birth to a golden paint filly, Tokina.
Hawk and Eagle(Caine) took their roles as big brothers very seriously and made sure they taught Tokina everything they knew. This proved to be a mistake because soon she was outsmarting them and when she was older, she was even beating them in the little tussels they had.
When Tokina was two, Willow fell ill and died, and the trio of siblings were devastated and mourned. They didn't have much time to mourn, as a group of lone indians raided the tribe one night, stealing the tribe's stallions. Hawk and Eagle(Caine) were forced to leave Tokina as the lone indians herded the stallions away.
The stallions were traded to white men, and Hawk and Eagle(Caine) were traded to a calvery fort, and re-named. Hawk was re-named Ridge and Eagle re-named Caine. It didn't take long for Caine to grow to hate the calvery. While Hawk (Caine liked his new name, Hawk did not and refused to go by it) gave in to the breaking and let the white men ride him, Caine would buck, kick, and throw anyone who tried to ride him. Caine asked around the stables and found out how another stallion had refused to be broken and had busted out, along with a bunch of calvery horses. Caine decided to try this, but waited until night to bust out. It worked, mostly. He woke up half the fort breaking open the stable door, but he and Hawk got out.
Hawk and Caine became loners and spent their time moving from place to place to avoid humans. Cowboys seemed to find them often, one cowboy on a bay horse seemed to always find them. Hawk and Caine started calling him "the hunter". Hawk suggestead they try living in the canyons for a bit, but on the way their, the hunter caught up with them, and a sound like thunder came from a stick he held and Hawk sudenly fell. Shocked, Caine franticly tried to get him up, but he was dead. Caine fled into the canyons, the hunter shouting after him ("You can't run forever stallion! You will be mine, you hear me!).
Caine stayed in the canyons, rarely venturing out, and the hunter returned every few days (once a week) and after awhile Caine could easily loose him in the canyons or avoid him completly if he wanted. Few horses came through the canyons, and most that did came in groups, so Caine left them alone. However, when a lone horse, or only two, enterd the canyons, Caine would run them off.
However, after a year of living in the canyons, a lone gold paint horse wanderd into the canyons, and Caine was startled to find that it was Tokina. Tokina was delighted to see him, but Caine was not as happy to see her. First he tried to run her off, but she refused. Then when he told her about Hawk, and comferted her about it, he tried to scare her off with by telling her the hunter would kill her to. This proved to do nothing, as Tokina kept insisting to stay with him. Desprate, Caine eventuly did run her out, but he felt guilty that he had to be agressive towards her.
That guilt dissapered when Tokina returned a few weeks later. Caine ran her off again, but she kept returning, and somehow finding him when he hid. Caine quickly became anoyed by her reapering no matter how many times he ran her off. Determind to keep her safe from the hunter, Caine keeps running her off.
One night, Caine is awakend by a lone horse. Thinking it's a stallion, and a bit ticked that it woke him up, Caine decided to have some fun and play the "ghost" part (making noises that echo, rocks falling, ect.). However, the horse didn't seem spooked at all. In fact, it didn't even seem to notice. Confused, Caine jumped down in front of the horse, intending to scare it, but the horse merely asked what he was doing. Caine was suprised to find the horse was a mare, called Lozania, and she really didn't seem to be scared of him at all. In fact, she actully tagged along after him! Thoroughly confused by this, Caine tried running her off, but she fought back and actully beat him. Caine then tried acting incredibly rude and cold toward her, but this didn't drive her off eaither. Lozania irritated him, but Caine didn't want the hunter to hurt her, so he kept trying to get her to leave. So far, he's still stuck with her.
Relation to Spirit: He is travling with Spirit&Rain's daughter (Lozania)
Other: (putting this here because I can't think of where else to put it) Just to clarify this, the hunter did not intently shoot Hawk. He was actully aiming for Caine's leg, hoping to make him fall and then fix his leg later (he's good with medicene and that stuff), but at the moment he pulled the trigger, his horse bucked (unkown why) and the gun shot off target. The hunter also has very bad aim and should really not have a gun in the first place. Great medic, horrible shot.
