History: Born early spring, Ania was the first of the years foals to be born. Ania had a early start to explore before any other foals were born. She explored and found the best hidding places that none of the other foals knew about. Ania had a typical foal life, playing and running with the other foals.
After growing out of her leggy yearling stage, Ania became a atractive mare and some of the tribe's stallions tride making plays at her. None of them interestead Ania, and she kindly turned them all away. Ania spent most of her time wandering nearby areas or hanging around the other mares, though their talk of stallions didn't interest her much.
Because Ania ventured off alot, she learned much about the wild and things outside the tribe. She was always around when someone, horse or indian, needed comferting, in which she would do her best to comfert them. She was a very gentle horse, and the indians would use her for teaching the children how to ride, because Ania was so calm that they didn't need to worry about her spooking and acidently bucking or kicking one of the children. Ania became very fond of children, and when spring rolled around once more, seeing all the new foals gave her a sense of longing.
One night, a terrible storm started and the river the tribe had chosen to camp by flooded. Through all the confusion, Ania spotted a little girl running around, crying for her mother. With the water comming fast, Ania hurried to the girl and maneged to coax the child to hug her neck tightly. Ania then ran, and deliverd the child to another indian. Ania then joined the horses, but in the confusion Ania was pushed to the outskirts of the group. The ground was muddy and the horses were running alongside the river bank, heading up to higher land, and Ania slipped in the mud and fell into the river. She banged her head and was knocked unconcious and swept downstream.
When Ania awoke, she was on a sandy shore, and suprisingly she felt warm, despite being rather wet. When she opend her eyes, she saw a pale grey stallion sleeping next to her. Startled, Ania got up, which woke the stallion. Confused, Ania asked who he was and what he was doing. The stallion introduced himself as Nevar, and explained that he had found her here and that he had just been trying to keep her from freezing to death.
Seeing as this was true, Ania thanked him and asked where she was. Nevar told her she was near the Blue Moon mountains (aka, very far from where her tribe had been). Ania thanked Nevar for his help and started to leave, but she was weak and didn't get very far before nearly fainting. Nevar suported her and led her to a cluster of nearby trees. There he took care of her, and the two formed a friendship. When Ania was better, Nevar offerd to help her find her tribe, but now Ania wasn't completly sure if she wanted to return to them. Nevar let her think about it, and finnaly Ania decided she'd rather stay with him.
The two traveled together, and over time they fell in love and Ania became pregnet. Determind for her and the unborn foal to be as safe as possible, Nevar found them a thicket like area to stay. And later, Ania gave birth to a black filly, which they named Snowfire, after Nevar and his father.
When Snowfire was a week old, a cougar attacked. Ania fought to keep it away from Snowfire, but the cougar was male and stronger then her. It wounded her badly, but then Nevar (who had been out scouting for a new place for them) charged in and chased it away from the thicket. Ania, though injured, told Snowfire to stay hidden and ran after them. Nevar chased the cougar into a open field, but the cougar was quick and deliverd fatel wounds to Nevar's neck and sides. However, Nevar was able to kick it hard in the ribs and it fled. However, he collapsed after doing so. Ania ran to him and begged him to be okay, but Nevar just smiled softly and closed his eyes.
Devastated and heartbroken, Ania returned to Snowfire, and without anserwing the young fillys questions, they left the thicket and moved on.
