History
Brianna was born in captivity in the lokota village a year before Spirit would come and Rain would leave. Rain's younger sister was born a few months later. She immediately fell in love with indian way of life. Many of the elders of the tribe realized her strength and beauty as a young foal. Brianna always stayed near the village, but did wander away for a short time to explore throughout her life. All of the children and dogs of the village loved Brianna and would run to her when she came close to the tents. Happily she always greeted them with nuzzling and rides. Some of her closest friends in the Indian village were Rain and Rain's younger sister. Whenever any of the young foals in the village wanted to race or play Brianna was always ready.
As a yearling, Brianna's beauty attracted many young stallions. Brianna would watch them, but would ignore them when they tried to flirt with her. She wasn't sure if she was ready to look for a mate yet. During that year many young warriors examined her as a war horse, but she was to slender and small to stand up in the heat of battle (or it appeared).
Early that fall she was grazing up on a hill close to the village when the American Calvary attacked the village. Filled with concern she raced to the village and looked around desperatedly for a way to help. Suddenly she spotted two young children being grabbed by soldiers. Furious, Brianna ran to their help and knocked the soldiers off their feet. She screamed her furry and a warning while rearing and came down with a threatening snort. The terrified soldiers scrambled to their feet and dashed away as fast as their feet could carry them. Brianna continued to guard the children until the fight ended. Then as the dust cleared and the village began to gather what was left of their belongings Brianna led the small children to their distressed parents. Both of them hugged Brianna and thanked her with tears of joy in their eyes.
Shortly after one of the lakota (Little Creek) led Rain back to the village. Brianna ran to her friend and saw the bullet hole in her side. Rain was very weak and Brianna helped nurse her back to health. She loved Rain and Rain began teaching Brianna some things that she learned and told her of her adventures with a young, fiery stallion named Spirit. Young Brianna's heart was broken when Rain left with Spirit to join him and his herd. All the members of the Lakota, young and old, loved Brianna and watched as she continued through life...
