Mikasi's History (in a Nutshell):

Mikasi grew up a feral horse. From his foalhood he lived within the vicinity of Little Creek's Lakota village, following its inhabitants to whichever places they camped. He allowed the Lakota people to touch him, but never mount him.

In his colt years Mikasi received his name, painted markings and a feather after saving the Lakota tribe.

Later, a Lakota mare called Roam became his mate - She was soon in-foal with his offspring.

When Roam's foal was nearly due, Mikasi was attacked, seriously wounded and finally driven off by a stallion (Madallion). In a critical condition - similar to Wobbler disease - Mikasi fled, to what he did not know at first was Spirit's territory. Luckily Spirit was tolerant of Mikasi's presence, and allowed him to stay and recover.

Mikasi, recovered from his injuries (although his back and withers were still so damaged he would never be able to be ridden), returned to the Lakota village. His foal (Lonan) had by then been born and was nearly a year old. 

Mikasi settled down and lived the rest of his days as 'leader' of the Lakota horses.

  Relation the the Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron Universe: travels with the Lakota camp, is a friend of Little Creek, and sees himself as guardian over all the mares in the Lakota camp. Also, he met Spirit and Spirit's son Pantha.
