Info: Soldier was born to a mare who had been cast out of her herd recently, and had very little protection from the elements and predators as a foal. His mother did all she could to keep him alive, but she couldn't sustain herself through the winter. For the first time in his life, Soldier was alone in the world, and had to make out on his own. He was two when a team of cowboys rounded him up to trade for money at a cavalry base. Soldier went through strenous training as a mount, and lived at the base for a year, only glad he didn't have to brave out the winter alone that year. He had his chance to escape when Spirit and Little Creek made a break for it, and left with the other mounts. He ran straight for the valley where he used to live with his mother, and found another herd residing there. Soldier lived a life of constantly wandering on his own, trying to find himself a mate. He seemed dissatisfied and at war with himself, as no herds would accept him in.
