There was termoil among the tribe. Wilika  shook her head and tried to clam the other ladies of the tribe. Time seemed to go by at a painfully slow pace. Over the horizon Little creek and his brothers could be seen. There father carried a large deer on the back of his horse. they looked blissfully happy. Wilika frowned. how was she to tell him, how was she to tell the younge husband, that he wife was taken as payment. Wilika walked to meet the Creek family.  Quiet rain walked behind her silently. Killowya got down from his horse as did his father and two other  brothers. Quiet rain ran to her father, and cried into his shoulder. "whats wronge my daughter?" he asked dropping the dear and patting her back gentlly. wilika walked over the little creek, she looked at him with red, tear stained eyes. "i'm sorry they took her" she said lowly. Little creek looked confused. "who? what?" he asked. " the pale men came and took sister doe!" Quiet rain cried. Howling bear their father huged Quiet rian to calm her down Sounding wind and Killowya looked at their Brother waiting for his reaction. LIttle creek did not move he became like stone. "i left her alone, its a bad omin to leave a new wife alone i should have...." he muttered. Killowya martched up to his brother and shook him. "what are you mummbling do and get her back" he said. Little creek looked up at him with hollow eyes. Little Creek was strong but he'd never last agenst men with guns, and he was brave but what would they do to here if the tribe rallied up. " we'll go with you Creek, the creek family is a close one they won't  be willed ot do this" Sounding wind said. Little creek clentched his fist. Sunray came from over the hill in full gallop, her orange hair flying behind her  his whinnied and snorted. comming to a stop infront of the family she stomped her feet and whiped her head in the direction the calvary went. "follow her Little creek she knows the way!" Wilika said. Little creek looked up, taking rains hair he swung himself on to her. Rain reared and shook her mane. Sunray did the same. Killowya and Sounding WInd mounted their horses as well. "brother i promise you if you do not bring her back, i will never forgive you" Quiet rain said with a small smile. Little creek look at her his eyes were nolonger hollow, they held fire in them. "it's a promise" he said, the brothers took off towards the calvary base following Sunray's lead.

"you horrible, pastey face, coward!" Weeping doe yelled as chanson threw her in a small room closing the door behind him. He sighed and looked at her were she sat on the floor. Her knelt down, Weeping Doe flintched and scooted away slightly. Chanson smiled a very small meek smile. "it's ok, i'm just trying to untie you" he said with some amusement in his voice. Weeping doe eyed him and held out her wrists. Chanson untied them and weeping Doe bolted across the room. "i'm not going to hurt you" he said again. Weeping doe glared at him. "why the change of heart, you were roothless to my people, why so gentle now?" she hissed. Chanson looked somewhat sad. " it was a front thats all, my men  expect me to be a strong demanding leader, Colonel, i couldn't say please, hand over anything you can spare" He said, "why not that sounds like better leadership to me" Weeping doe asked. Chanson smiled "of course it would your people are a gentle people, we do not opperate that way her eint he calvary were are military we have to show force" He said. Chanson strided over to a dest and pullled a book out of the cabnit. "whats that?" weeping doe asked. Chanson smiled "it's a book of poetry" He said Weeping Doe took a step closer her curiosity getting the best of her. "poetry?" she asked, " a letter or thoughts, feelings, emotions, detail, words that give your mind a picture so see and an emotion to feel" Chanson said his smiled growing he handed her the book. Weeping doe cracked it open and looked at it with a lost look. " what does it say?" she asked. "you speak english can you not read?" he asked. Weeping Doe shook her head. Chanson smield and took the book back. "here I'll read one to you....." he said clearing his throat.

" How can I then return in happy plight

That am debarred the benefit of rest,

When day's oppression is not eased by night,
And each, though enemies to either's reign,
Do in consent shake hands to torture me,
The one by toil, the other to complain
How far I toil, still farther off from thee?
I tell the day, to please him, thou art bright
And dost him grace when clouds do blot the heaven;
So flatter I the swart-complexioned night,
When sparkling stars twire not, thou gild'st the even.
But day doth daily draw my sorrows longer,
And night doth nightly make grief's strength seem stronger. "
.
Chanson looked at Weeping doe. Weeping doe tilted her head. "sounds warrior tired of fighting" she said. Chanson smiled "i thought so aswell" He said. Weeping doe Intched closer to him. "why am i here?" she asked Chanson smiled again "i'm not sure, i guess i want  some unique company" chanson said Weeping Doe glared at him "you could ahve just asked you know fronts only last so long"  she said. Chanson frowned "i know all to well" he said.  Chanson then sighed "well diner is coming soon if you are hungery i sujest you meet me at my room it's just across the hall" he said. Weeping doe eyed him. "how do i know you won't put something in it?" she asked. Chanson chuckled "when have you ever heard of the white man knowing enought of herbs to poison and indian?" he asked. Weeping Doe thought for a minute and smiled weekly. "see you know  I am right" He said leaving the room.
After chanson left Weeping doe looked around the room, Small cot for a bed, small desk, one large window, a single lamp, the room was cold and dark. Weeping Doe shivered and walked to the window. the gazed up at the newly shinning stars and the fadding sunset. and eagle flew by in the sky, giving a loud cry. this made Weeping Doe's heart ache for home. "little creek were are you?" she thought walking over to the cot and sitting down Indian style.

Sounding wind stoped his horse and sighed. "Crteek it's getting dark we need to rest." he said KIllowya stoped his horse as well. "his right we do...you do" He said. Little creek looked at sunray who stood far ahead of them looking abck as if to say Hurry  up waht are you doing? LIttle Creek sighed and wistled for Sunray to come to him. Getitng off of rain the rubbed Sunray's muzzle. "i know girl i miss her too" he whispered. Sunray let out a sad nay and tossed little creek's hand away stomping her hooves and nudging her head in the direction of the calvary. "poor thing's gun ho about finding Doe" Killowya said. SOunding wind laid a blanket on the ground. "we all are i'm sure we all know just how she feels" he said laying on the blanket. Killowya used his horse as a back rest. Little Creek looked off intot eh near by forest. "i'm going to look for fire wood" he said walking off. Sounding wind and Killowya looked at one another but stayed silent.

Littel creek walked deep intot he forest. in a clearing he collapsed to his knees, "maybe we weren't ment to be is that why all this is happening?" He thought he clentched his hands into fisted. "they very day i ask her ot be my own....does it have ot be this way" he muttered out loud. He sat indian style and looked up at the night sky, they stars twickled with a fire of hope. the wind kicked up and caressed Little creeks hair. "even when you aren't with me, if feels like you're here" he whispered closing his eyes with a small smile. "do not worry Doe I will find you" he said , openning his eyes he saw Sunray standing before him. Little Creek looked her in her eyes and down into her soul. He new what she wanted, and He wanted the same. Grabing her mane he swung himself onto her back and rode into  and out of the forest. "I sorry brothers but i cannot wait" he thought.

Chanson waited at the stairs and sighed knowing Weeping Doe was not coming down. He lef to dinner without her. Weeping doe listend to hima t her door, one he was gone she went back to her little window and looked up at the stars. "why did i got with them" she muttered to herself resting her head in her hands. "and were are you little creek" she thought. She watched the men outside her window a rather mean looking amn glaredat her. she shot one back  but inside she was frightend. there was a gentle knock at her door. Weeping doe glanced at her door and then back to the man but he was gone. A light sliding sound came from behind the door. Weepign doe waited until it was silent. she ten tiptoed over. When she opend the door there was a plate of food at her feet. She looked at it confused adn then across the hall to chanson's bedroom door. Cautiously she picked up the plate, she poked and sniffed the food. closing her door, she sat on the cot and staredat the food. "would they posion it?" she pondered. He took a small piece of bread and ate it. "it taste good, so it must be ok" she said to herself and begain to eat.

Chanson sat in his room, he stared up at his ceiling with a silly smile plastered to his face. "have i already fallen so far for this little indian girl?" he asked himself, he wiggled his feet and laughed to himself. "i guess i am" he thought. he got up and peeked out of his door, the plate was gone, this only made him smile more. Weeping Doe heard his door close and peeked out of her own door, and then closed it when she noticed no one was there. Chanson stope din his tracks and went back to the door, when he heard her do close. he peeked out and saw no one and closed teh door again. they repeated liket his for a while. on the 13th time the caught each other. Chanson smiled "do you need anything?" he asked. Weeping doe blushed but did not understand why. "no i was just ugh" she paused and ran in  her roon to get the plate, she droped it to the ground "to put the plate back" she said. Chanson smiled meekly "it's empty did you eat?" he asked hopefully. Weeping doe shook her head "no I tossed it out" she said. Chanson smiled to himself "must to pride to say she ate" he thought. "well good night" he said softly. Weepign doe just looked away untile he closed teh door, before going back into her room. She sighed and leaned agenst the door "it's goign to be a long day" she said looking out to the window. "were are you?" she asked.
