Founders of the Bloodline

Mohatu

Nicknamed "The Great King", Mohatu is an iconic figure for all the lions in Africa. He was a role model for them, for he was brave and strong. Mohatu was also one of the biggest lions living in Africa. Since his time, no lion has come close to being his size exactly (his great-grandson Judas comes close to being as large as him). Mohatu's blood runs through the veins of many of the lions living within Africa to this very day.

Mohatu had taken several lionesses as his mates, fathering many cubs with them. But his favorite lioness is Thema who descends from the pioneering Outlander pride. Her leaving her family pride and joining Mohatu's led to some bad blood between the two prides for a while. Mohatu had five cubs with Thema: Uru, Nakato, Bakari, Kanika, and Asante. Mohatu always had a loving relationship with Thema - his blood sister Rika even says that they are sweethearts. So Thema's untimely death left a big hole in Mohatu's heart.

Mohatu lived to a ripe old age, and passed away due to failing health and age.

Thema

A lioness who descends from the pioneering Outlander pride, Thema was kicked out of her pride due to circumstances not in her favor. She discovered Mohatu's pride and joined his. This caused bad blood between the two prides as the Outlander pride did not want their lions/lionesses mingling with other prides. As a result, both prides did not get along until Uru's reign.

Thema is a shy and quiet lioness who deeply loved her cubs. However, she was rejected and constantly made fun of by the other lionesses behind her back. They never made fun of her in front of her face because of their respect for Mohatu. Unfortunately their respect for Mohatu did not cross over to respecting Thema. She had a very loving relationship with Mohatu, with him being her one true love.

Thema did not live as long as her mate. She passed away prematurely due to infections from an open wound she received on a failed hunting trip.

First Generation

Uru

After Mohatu's passing, a lot of pressure was placed onto Uru for she was selected personally by her late father to lead his pride. Fortunately, Mohatu had given her a lot of practice and teachings before his passing. Uru led her pride to the Pridelands, becoming the founder of Pride Rock. She is stubborn and thinks she can handle things on her own. She never wants to accept help, and even if she does ask for help, it's asked in a way that makes it as though she's straining to say it.

She meets and eventually falls in love with Ahadi. With him, she produces three sons, Mufasa Scar (originally named Taka), and Mega, who came along later in life. While Ahadi looked after Mufasa, Uru coddled Scar, unintentionally playing favorites with their sons. Uru was unexpectedly killed while trying to save Scar from a startled herd of water buffalo.

Though she was, in no way, like her father, Uru did her best to try and fulfill the role as leader. A major accomplishment on her part was settling the bad blood between the Pridelanders and Outlanders. This accomplishment was soon moot once Scar messed up everything.

Ahadi

Before his life with Uru, Ahadi was a rogue lion traveling the lands. His past is unknown, but he is suspected of having connections with Malka's Highland pride, possibly being the founder of that pride. Unlike Uru, Ahadi is fun-loving, respectful, and tries to do his best to prove himself worthy. After Uru's premature death, however, Ahadi changed for the worse. He grew quiet and only spent time with Mufasa, neglecting Scar because he was mad that Scar startled the herd and Mega.

Ahadi passed away of a broken heart sometime after Uru's death, leaving Mufasa Scar, and Mega without either of their parents.

Second Generation

Mufasa

The firstborn son of Uru and Ahadi, Mufasa was expected to succeed his mother as leader. Ahadi and Uru took pride in their son, but Ahadi was the one who took Mufasa under his wing, trying to teach the young cub all he knew even though Ahadi was not the prime leader. Ahadi's loving nature and Uru's wiseness shaped Mufasa into the lion he eventually grew up to be. He pitied Scar, but felt no resentment towards him for being the cause of Uru's death. Mufasa also had a very loving relationship with his younger brother Mega, inviting him to stay in the Pridelands too.

When he was born, he was betrothed to Sarabi, a young lioness cub who was born a few months before him. The two cubs were good friends, and things went well when both showed interest in one another once they got older. This was one big reason Scar resented his brother - he took the love of his life away.

With Sarabi, Mufasa produced three sons and a daughter: Judas, who ran away at a year old; Simba, his successor; Tojo, Simba's twin; and Halla who was an unexpected surprise for them. Mufasa also fathered Mheetu with Sarafina, but was not able to really be there for the cub, as he was killed by Scar sometime before Mheetu's birth. Mufasa fathered Tama with another pride lioness, and adopted Chumvi and Kula into his pride.

Scar

The second-born son of Uru and Ahadi, and the runt of his litter. Scar was not expected to make it through his first month of life due to the fact that he was very sickly and small. However, he proved resilient and grew up alongside his brother. Scar's birth-name was Taka, but changed it to Scar after his father attacked him. Scar had a good relationship with Mufasa, but a poor one with Ahadi, who spent more time with Mufasa. Scar adored his mother, and her death was one of the pieces that led to his eventual-take on his Scar persona.

Sarabi was another piece. Scar always held a secret affection for Sarabi, and was distraught when she went through the intended plans to marry Mufasa. This shook the brothers' relationship badly, and Sarabi accepting Mufasa was what made Scar leave the Pridelands for a year.

When he returned, Scar found out that his father passed away and Mufasa took over for him. Mufasa allowed Scar to live within the pride under the circumstances that he not get involved with any of the lionesses. Scar did just that, though he continued to pine for Sarabi's affection in secret.

Scar murdered Mufasa and shooed Simba away. When he returned, he crowned himself leader of the Pridelands, and formed an alliance with the hyenas. During this time, a lioness named Zira tried winning his affections, but Scar ignored her; he was still deeply in love with Sarabi. He tried approaching her to become his Queen but each time she refused him. Angry, Scar chose Zira as his Queen and mated with her to try and get Sarabi jealous. It didn't work, and that led to Zira producing the cub, Nuka, that Scar never wanted. Now stuck with a queen and a son he hated, Scar tried again to make Sarabi love him. She still refused him. His love for her became obsessive, and he soon began to show signs of wanting her daughter Halla as well. Now wanting to replace his failure of a son, Scar turned to Sarafina who offered herself to him. She produced him Reno, who Scar absolutely adored. Scar promised Reno greatness, but before that could ever happen, Simba returned, and Scar was killed by the hyenas.

Mega

The third cub bore by Uru, and the last. His brothers are Mufasa and Scar. Mega always had the closest relationship with Mufasa, but something about his brother Scar kept him away. Mega's cub hood was very uneventful, save for his parents' deaths. When Mufasa took the throne, Mega was old enough to leave. Even though Mufasa invited him to stay, Mega declined the offer but promised to visit sometime in the future. Mega left, and no one has seen from him since.

Sarabi

Her mother was one of the lionesses who snuck away from Uru's small pioneering pride during mating season. She is not related to Mohatu's line in any way. She found and mated with a rogue lion, conceiving Sarabi. She was born months later, along with her half-sister Sarafina. When Mufasa and Scar were born, Sarabi was betrothed to Mufasa. The two grew up as friends and eventually fell in love.

Their love produced four cubs: Judas, Simba, Tojo, and Halla. When Scar told the lionesses that Mufasa and Simba were both killed, Sarabi's heart was broken. She refused to give herself over to Scar, and instead was out most of the time hunting. She also kept close to her daughter, especially when it was clear Scar was eyeing her too. Halla purposely upset Scar and was banished from the pride. Even though she was depressed over the loss of her beloved mate and cubs, Sarabi kept strong, which benefited her as she was reunited with Simba when he returned.

Sarabi lived to see Kopa and then Kiara be born into the pride. She grew ill and eventually passed away, shortly before Judas led his pride into the Pridelands.

Sarafina

Sarabi's half-sister. Her mother was the other lioness who snuck away and mated with a rogue lion. Neither are related to Mohatu in any way. Sarafina was born a few minutes after Sarabi, therefore Sarafina was overlooked when a proposal came to engage the young cub Mufasa to the older lioness cub. Sarafina was close to her half-sister, and was happy for her when she and Mufasa grew close. Sometime before Mufasa and Sarabi became the new King and Queen of Pride Rock, Sarafina snuck away, and just like her mother before her, had mated with a rogue lion named Laguna.

Scared of being rejected from the pride, Sarafina kept her pregnancy a secret until it became painfully obvious that she was carrying. At first the other lionesses looked to Sarafina in disgust, but Sarabi, who felt sorry for her half-sister, and Mufasa ensured that Sarafina would not be turned away by the pride. A few months later, Sarafina gave birth to Nala.

The cycle being repeated again, Nala was betrothed to young Simba when he was born. Sarafina and Sarabi were happy of this arrangement. Sometime later, Mufasa and Sarafina mated, producing Mheetu. When Mufasa died, Sarafina took it upon herself to search for his body. She found him, but did not tell Sarabi about it, in fear that it would break her heart. She did, however, inform the other lionesses.

Wanting to make his control permanent, Scar killed Mheetu because he was Mufasa's son. Sarafina was inconsolable, especially when not long after that, Nala ran away. However, she soon mated with Scar, producing Reno. She took very good care of her son, even if he was Scar's. When Simba returned and reclaimed his place as king, Sarafina feared for Reno's life, and so took him away from the Pridelands. Fortunately she had bumped into Ni's pride, and begged the lion to take in her cub. Since he had a cub around Reno's age, Ni had no issue taking the young cub in.

Sarafina lived a long life, passing away peacefully sometime after Sarabi.

Zira

When Scar left Pride Rock, he joined the Outlander pride, which is how he met Zira. His presence in the pride had a big impact on her, and when she was old enough, Zira left to go find Scar. At first the other lionesses did not want to accept her into the pride, but Scar forced them to tolerate Zira's presence. Being with Scar, she developed a deep infatuation for him, but he was already pining for Sarabi's love. To make her jealous, Scar made Zira his Queen even though he was constantly annoyed by Zira's attempts to make him notice her. She eventually bore him a cub, Nuka, but Scar brainwashed her to believe that Nuka was a failure. So in turn Zira neglected her son.

When Scar died, something inside Zira snapped. She went ahead and murdered Simba's young son Kopa. Simba found out and banished Zira and the lionesses who sided with her from the pride. They rejoined the Outlander pride, and Zira re-fed the bad blood that Uru worked so hard to abolish.

Zira then became caretaker of Vitani when a weak and dying Tama showed up, and granted Zira custody of her cub. She later discovered Kovu at the edge of the territory, and took him in, feeding into his head that he was chosen by Scar.

Zira later committed suicide by drowning.

Third Generation

Simba

The second-born son of Mufasa and Sarabi, and twin brother to Tojo. When Judas ran away, they tried again, this time producing an heir that they would not make any mistakes with. Simba grew up into a healthy and happy cub. He was also betrothed to Nala at a young age, even though he was disgusted by the thought at first.

Since he was the proclaimed prince, life for Simba was comfortable and well - at least until the stampede. He witnessed his father's death, and Scar implanted in his mind that it was his fault Mufasa died. Simba ran away, and was soon found and cared for by Timon and Pumbaa. Five years passed, and Simba has lived a comfortable life in the forest, but has never been truly happy because of his past. He bumps into Nala again, and sometime later decides to go back to Pride Rock. He defeats Scar and reclaims his place as king.

Simba and Nala have two cubs together: Kopa and Kiara. Kopa was unexpectedly killed by Zira in order to avenge Scar's death. Simba banished Zira and the lionesses who stood up for her, and afterwards Simba and Nala tried again, this time producing Kiara. Tensions rise when Zira plans an all-out war, and Kiara falls in love with Kovu, but things finally settle down after Zira's death, especially when Simba accepts Kovu and the other Outlander lionesses into the pride. A while later, Simba and Nala step down from the throne, and allow Kiara and Kovu to rule. Of course they often do give them advice.

Simba and Nala dot on Kiara and Kovu's daughter, Adanna, and they quickly re-established themselves as King and Queen after Kovu's death.

Nala

Daughter of Sarafina and Laguna, she was betrothed to Simba at a young age. Neither of them liked this idea. After Mufasa's and Simba's 'supposed' death, Nala was heartbroken, but she kept strong, and eventually climbed to the ranks of being co-head huntress (along with Sarabi). Seeing how bad the conditions were, Nala decided to flee and find help, thus eventually bumping into Simba. They fall in love, and return to the Pridelands to defeat Scar. They do so, and become King and Queen of Pride Rock.

They have two cubs: Kopa and Kiara. Kopa was unexpectedly killed by Zira in order to avenge Scar's death. Nala was heartbroken by the death of her son, but she and Simba tried again, this time producing Kiara. Tensions rise when Zira plans an all-out war, and Kiara falls in love with Kovu, but things finally settle down after Zira's death. Nala never had a bad thing to say about Kovu, liking him ever since he saved Kiara and was finally glad when Simba accepted him. A while later, Nala and Simba step down from the throne, and allow Kiara and Kovu to rule. Of course they often do give them advice

After Kovu's death, Nala confronted Kiara and her granddaughter Adanna, who were both distraught. Nala and Simba re-took their positions as King and Queen until Adanna was old enough to rule for them.

Nuka

The son of Scar and Zira. From the time he was a cub, he was constantly abused by his mother. His father outright ignored him, preferring his other son Reno to him. Nuka developed a complexion to try and stand-out to his parents, to try and impress them.

When Zira and the other lionesses were banished, he went with them, and they went back to the Outlands. Nuka continued to be overlooked by Zira, especially when she took in Vitani and Kovu. Nuka resented Kovu since his mother paid more attention to him than to her actual son. This did not dissuade Nuka from trying to impress her.

Nuka's life came to a sudden end when he was crushed under several logs. Zira let it shine that she did love her son, but it came at a point when it was too late. Nuka did not father any cubs.

Tojo

The twin of Simba, Tojo was born second, and as such the title of king was passed onto Simba, not him. Not that Tojo minded much. As Mufasa spent time teaching Simba the ways of the Circle of Life, Tojo mingled with the other cubs Chumvi, Kula, and Tama. The four of them became inseparable friends.

Soon Scar announced that both Mufasa and Simba were dead. Tojo was traumatized from this event and was scared for his safety next. Acting like any other lion, Scar kicked Tojo and Chumvi out of the pride, wanting to rule with his own cubs not someone else's. Tojo and Chumvi were old enough where they could thrive on their own for a bit, but when it came to a point where they almost gave up, they had help from a rogue lion pride. This pride helped Tojo and Chumvi out, raising them until they were old enough to survive on their own. Once they broke away, both lions established their own rogue pride, and Tojo became the leader for he was humble and wise. Not long after, Tama and eventually Kula joined them, disgusted by how they were being treated under Scar's rule.

During mating season, Kula seduced Tojo and there a cub was conceived, though Tojo never saw Kula after that night again. He is unaware of his son Firion's existence.

Chumvi

The younger twin of Kula, he was abandoned along with his sister in the Pridelands. Feeling pity for them, Mufasa took them in and raised them as his own. As he was growing up, Chumvi developed a close bond with Tojo. They were always jokingly referred to as brothers. When Scar announced his rule both cubs were kicked out of the pride and struggled to survive on their own. It was with the help of a kind rogue pride that they did, and when they were old enough they made their own pride. Chumvi always had a follower-attitude - though he is just as humble as Tojo, he preferred being second-in command to his friend.

Tama and Kula eventually joined them, but Kula left not long after. Chumvi was sad to see his sister go and is unaware that Kula gave birth to Tojo's son.

Kula

The older twin of Chumvi, she was abandoned along with her brother in the Pridelands. Feeling pity for them, Mufasa took them in and raised them as his own. Kula always had an ambitious attitude, to want the best out of life, but she also had made good friends with Tama. She would've made friends with Nala too if the lioness wasn't always hanging around Simba. Kula always had a crush on Simba and was jealous of his relationship with Nala.

When Scar announced his rule after Mufasa's death, Tojo and Chumvi were kicked out of the pride. Kula was distraught to see her brother go, and for a while was in a deep slump. As she got older, she decided she would join them and so she and Tama snuck off to find them. They did, but Kula did not stay long. She seduced Tojo and in the morning decided to go back to Pride Rock. Tojo and Chumvi are both unaware she has a cub.

Kula gave birth to Firion, but fearing for his safety she abandoned him. Kula continued to live in the Pridelands until her death.

Tama

Daughter of Mufasa and another pride lioness, Tama was born sometime after Simba and Tojo. Ever since she was a cub, she made close relations with Tojo and two other cubs, Chumvi and Kula. The four of them were inseparable.

When Scar announced his rule after Mufasa's death, he kicked Tojo and Chumvi out of the pride. Tama was deeply saddened by the loss of her father and friends, but remained strong for the pride's sake. It was during this time she established an unlikely friendship with Zira, even though the older lioness was insane in her love for Scar. Some might even say she looked to Zira as a mother figure, after her own mother died unexpectedly.

Tama and Kula ran away from the pride and joined up with Chumvi and Tojo. Kula left sometime after being impregnated by Tojo, but no one was aware of it. Tama continued to stay with the two exiled lions. During their time together, Tama came across a rogue lion and they mated, thus conceiving Vitani. It was sometime after this that Tama became very sick, suffering minor seizures though Tojo and Chumvi did not know what to do.

The threesome came across Zira and the exiled outlanders some time after. Since then Tama had grown even more sick. She had trouble bearing her cub, and she knew she was dying. Her last wish before passing was that her cub, named Vitani, would be entrusted in only Zira's care. Then she passed away.

Malka

The current leader of the Highland pride, a pride infamous for their inbreeding and violent tempers. The policy of the pride was to not mingle with other lions in order to preserve their bloodline. Malka ascended to be King and he broke this rule when he bumped into Halla, who had run away from Pride Rock. Though he did not care for her, he took her in anyhow, feeling somewhat sympathetic once she explained her scenario.

He eventually fell in love with her and made her Queen. The rest of the pride quietly reject Halla for not being like them. Malka and Halla have one of the happiest relationships, being faithful only to each other. Halla went on to bear several cubs, but only one survived. Maalik was treated just as the same as his mother.

Sometime after, Malka's pride bumped into Judas's. The Highland pride always centered itself on showing aggression to other lion prides, and soon there was a bloody battle. Malka's pride was also responsible for the death of Kovu. So far no one has dared to make friends with the pride, and in turn Malka's pride has not reached out to any others.

Mheetu

The son of Mufasa and Sarafina, he was born after his father's death. Mheetu did not live past cub hood for he was killed by Scar in an attempt to get rid of Mufasa's blood in the pride.

Ni

A rogue who was born in his own pride and left once he became of age. He wandered into the Pridelands and saved Nala from the hyenas. After that he was invited to stay, but he decided that he wasn't going to do that and he left to find his own pride. He eventually did, beating out the former leader, and taking over. He took a favorite female and had a son with her, Ikeena (original name was Ikeana). Sarafina came across this pride a while after Ikeena's birth and requested he look after her son Reno for her. Ni accepted and raised Reno as his own. In  fact he was more of a father to Reno than he was to his own son, and both Reno and Ikeena knew that. The two ran away, leaving Ni distressed. He eventually got over it and continues to live with his pride.

Fourth Generation

Kopa

Son of Simba and Nala, he was conceived the night the two reunited after many years apart. Kopa was a celebration for the pride, but unfortunately his life came to a horrible end after Zira killed him in order to avenge Scar.

Kiara

Daughter of Simba and Nala, born not long after Kopa's death. Kopa's death left Simba horrorstruck and he was not going to lose Kiara like how he lost his son. He was very overprotective to the point where she felt smothered. An adventure to the Outlands led to her meeting Kovu, a male cub she would not meet again until her adolescent. The pair fell in love, adding fire to the tension between the Outlanders and Pridelanders, cumulating in Zira's suicide. Kiara and Kovu eventually ascended to the throne and had a cub together, Adanna. Kiara was not around much for Adanna, a big mistake on her part. This was the first of many ups-and-downs between the two.

Kovu was killed by Malka in an attempt to appease the Highland pride into joining forces with the Pridelands. Kiara entered a state of depression, but her relationship with Adanna improved. At least until a starving rogue lion named Defir showed up. Defir fell in love with Kiara immediately, but Kiara still mourned for Kovu, and this left her too disabled for her position as Queen, so Simba and Nala retook the throne until she recovered. She finally did, once Defir sweetened her up, and soon they announced they became mates. Kiara's relationship with Adanna once again went sour, finally ending with Adanna disowning her heritage once there was news that Kiara was bearing Defir's son. She gave birth to Abel not long after.

Kovu

The adopted son of Zira and mate of Kiara. He had a very good brotherly bond with Vitani despite them hardly being related. Kovu was born of two rogues and left abandoned in the Outlands. Zira saw Kovu as the son of Scar she never had, and so quickly took him underneath her wing. Kovu bumped into Kiara when they were cubs, and Zira exploited this so that Kovu could get close enough to kill Simba. It almost worked, but Kovu and Kiara quickly fell in love, cumulating in the two prides facing off, ending in Zira's suicide.

Kovu and Kiara eventually took the throne and had a daughter, Adanna. Because Kiara was too busy fulfilling her duties as Queen, Kovu was given charge of watching over Adanna, building up a strong father-daughter bond that was shattered when Kovu was killed by Malka.

Vitani

Daughter of Tama and a rogue lion, she was given to Zira by her mother before she died. Because there were some similarities in looks between Zira and Vitani, she grew up to believe Zira was her real mother. Vitani remained on the sidelines during the whole Outland/Prideland conflict, and took to siding with Kiara and Kovu during the final battle. She joined the Prideland pride and found out that Tama was her real mother. After that Vitani remained on the sidelines.
