The morning was too warm and bright on Pride Lands. Kopa was at the top of the Pride Rock, enjoying the sunrise. His father, Simba, was sleeping peacefully beside his wife, Nala. Nala had given birth to a female cub named Kiara, an hour ago. Both were also sleeping, as well as the other lionesses.

After a few minutes, Kopa decided to get out of there. He saw a butterfly on a rock, and began playing with it. Then, he realized he was far away from his kingdom. He came to a lake full of crocodiles, but he didn't know that. He jumped on what looked like a rock, but it was a crocodile. Kopa screamed, and many other crocodiles came to surface.

After long minutes trying to escape, Kopa has escaped. He looked all around, completely lost, not making the slightest idea of where he was. Then, he saw a shadow behind a tree. Curious, he walked toward her, afraid of what might happen.

A lioness jumped on him, and Kopa screamed.
- Silence! - The lioness shouted.
- Who are you? Where am I? What will you do to me? - Kopa asked.
- My name is Zira. You, pridelander, is in my domain. Come with me, child. - Zira answered.
- I've heard of you. You are an outlander, my father told me! - Kopa said.
- Your father? What's his name? - Zira asked, showing false curiosity.
- His name is Simba. - Kopa said. Zira's eyes twinkled. She finally would have revenge for the death of Scar, the lion she so idolized.
- Listen - The lioness said, staring at Kopa. - If you do what i say, i'll not hurt you.
- Do you promise?
- I promise. Now, follow me.

Zira caught Kopa by the neck and began to move foward, without stopping. Meanwhile, Simba had lifted, and looked for Kopa everywhere. He suspected that Zira had kidnapped Kopa.
- Kopa will be ok - Nala tried to comfort his mate. - I know he will, Simba.

After long minutes walking (Kopa was almost asleep), they finally arrived. Kopa saw a beautiful lioness, which was his age, called Vitani. He gave a small smile to her, but she didn't return, just looked at him, half surprised and somewhat confused, and began following him.

So they came in a cave. Zira left Kopa gently upon a stone. He saw a lioness taking care of a newborn lion, and found that his name was Kovu.

- Listen, young lion - Zira said suddenly. - I must tell you some things, things i'm sure your parents didn't told you. But first, i wonder what's your name.
- My name is Kopa.
- Good, Kopa. Look, did you know that the pridelanders are murderers?
- WHAT? T-the pridelanders... it can't be true!
- But it's true. Your father killed a noble lion. His name was Taka.
- Taka... - Kopa repeated. He had never heard that name. - So... let me see if I understand. Are you saying that the pridelanders... are monsters? That my parents and my sister are monsters? - Kopa murmured, looking at the lioness with a bit of doubt in his eyes.
- Yes, darling. And i'll need your help to stop these lions. - Zira said, looking kindly to Kopa. He looked into her eyes. He had no idea what she really was.
Zira left the cub there. Vitani approached him, and smiled, making her look cuter than before.
- My name is Vitani - She said. - You are Kopa, right? - Kopa nodded his head. - Mom told me to show you where you will sleep. Follow me, ok? - Vitani asked. Kopa nodded his head again, and followed the little lioness.

The time has passed. Vitani and Kopa became every day more friends, Kopa's training became increasingly stringest and the sadness of Simba, Nala and Kiara increasingly high.
One day, Kopa and Vitani were walking around. Kopa was in love with her, and she was in love with him. Then, they saw a pridelander (who was searching for Kopa - had already been a long time since he was gone). Kopa's eyes fixed on her, full of hate.

- Attack? - Kopa whispered to Vitani.
- Yes. Together. ATTACK!
Both jumped on the lioness, which narrowly escaped, but ended up with a scar on her face. She turned around and looked to Kopa.
- Kopa? Is that you? - The lioness asked. - It's me, Nala!
- Do you know this lioness? - Vitani asked too.
- Mom... - Kopa whispered. - What are you doing here?
- I was looking for you, of course! You have to go back, your father was very worried! - Nala answered. Kopa looked to Vitani. He knew what she was thinking: They would try to deceive the pridelanders and kill them.
- Of course, mom. I will go back, don't worry. - He smirked. Nala nuzzled her son. Then, she looked at Vitani with disdain.
- Who is this lioness? - Nala asked.
- She's my friend, mom. - Kopa said, smiling. - Can she go with us?
- I can't do this, son. She's one of Zira's lionesses, isn't she? - Nala growled.
- No, i am not. I left Zira. - Vitani asked, giving, discreetly, a wink to Kopa.
- Well, whatever. Let's go, you both. - Nala looked Vitani with disdain again, walking toward the Pride Lands, Vitani and Kopa following her.

Simba, grudgingly, accepted Vitani. Kopa and Vitani were lying on the grass, watching the stars. Kopa stood up suddenly.

- What is it? - Vitani asked, standing up too.
- Nothing, it's just that... - Kopa sighed. - I can't just kill my father and all.
- You heard what Zira said, Kopa. The pridelanders are monsters!
- So that means i'm a monster too.
- No, Kopa. You are not a monster. - Vitani nuzzled Kopa. - You are what you are, Kopa. And i'll love you anyway, being a monster or not. - Vitani smiled, and Kopa too. - When will we attack them, Kopa?
- Hmmm... - Kopa looked up, thinking. - Look, I need you to gather the largest possible number of outlander lionesses. It will be a great war against the pridelanders
- Perfect! I'll be back soon, I promise.
Thus, Kopa observed Vitani rush out into the darkness of the night.

In the morning, Vitani came with many lions, lionesses and even hyenas. Kopa had slept on the top of a stone.
- What we do now, Kopa?
- Huh...? - Kopa whispered, waking up. - Oh, it is you. Well, i think the plan is simple, right? Kill. DON'T fail, guys, or this pride will not be ours. Now, GO!
The lions, lionesses and hyenas left racing, running in all directions, including Vitani and Kopa.

The attack lasted nearly all day, and many pridelanders ended up dead. Simba ended up being seriously hurt, but barely survived. He thought Vitani had ordered the attack, and exiled her.

- She didn't do anything, dad. - Kopa said. - I did.
- No... you didn't do this! - Kiara screamed.
- When I disappeared, Zira adopted me and told me the whole truth. You're a monster, dad. Like all the other pridelanders.
- No, son... the outlanders are monster. Believe me.
- Why should I believe you?
Many images passed through the mind of Kopa. Her mother bathing him, his sister sleeping peacefully, the jokes of his father...
- I'm... i'm so sorry! - Kopa started to cry. Simba gave a small smile.
- Ok, my son. I'll forgive you. And this lioness... - Simba indicated Vitani with the head. - Well, i can't say the same for her.
- Please, dad... she's my girlfriend! - Kopa sobbed. Vitani stifled an exclamation of surprise, and smiled.
- Ok, ok. - Simba rolled his eyes. - Welcome to the Pride Lands, Kopa. The same for you, Vitani.
Zira and her lionesses ended up being exiled, Kopa and Vitani married and he became the new king of the Pride Lands.
