The sun rose high in the Pridelands as Dalila, Kovu and Kiara's daughter-in-law gave birth to twins. The first born was the female and the one born to be second in line for the throne was the male. Kiara and Kovu came into the den to greet their daughter Zalika and their exhausted daughter-in-law Dalila who had her cubs nestled in her arms. A few minutes later, Dalila's mate Sadiki came in to greet his son and daughter. He thought that they were so cute. Zalika thought the same about the newborns. A few minutes later, Vitani and Kopa decided to come in to the den to see the newborns.

"Congrats on becoming Grandparents Kovu and Kiara," Vitani said.

"Thank you for that Vitani," Kovu said to his twin.

"Kopa and I really think that your Grandchildren are adorable," Vitani said.

"We think so too," Kovu said.

"I just wish Mom and Dad were still alive," Kiara said.

"I know its hard but death is a natural part of life," Kopa said.

"Enough sad talk, lets ask what the names of the cubs will be," Kovu suggested.

The elderly lions decided to talk to the new parents and their daughter about what to name their cubs. Dalila was having trouble deciding what to name her daughter. Kiara asked Dalila if she found the name Uru to be a good name for the future Queen. Dalila thought about it for a few seconds and looked at Sadiki. He agreed that Uru was a good name for their daughter. Dalila wondered what to name her son. She looked at Sadiki but he told her not to name their son after him.

"What name are you going to use for your son?" Kovu asked.

"I'd like to name him after you," Sadiki said.

Dalila thought for a moment and liked the name Sadiki suggested. The new cubs have been named Uru and Kovu Jr. The pride liked those names as they seem to fit the cubs really well. Zalika sniffed the newborns as they woke up to bat at her nose. They immediately took a liking to their Aunt. As the weeks passed, the twins grew into curious cubs. Uru had light brown fur, lime green eyes like Dalila and Sadiki's Outlander nose. Kovu Jr had reddish brown fur, an Outlander nose like Sadiki and inherited electric blue eyes like his Great-Aunt Vitani. He also had a black hair tuft on his head. Uru had inherited the dark brown stripe from her Great-Grandmother Zira and the black ear rims from her Great-Aunt Vitani.

"Hey sis, wanna play outside?" Kovu Jr asked.

"Not right now," Uru whined.

Kovu Jr started poking and prodding at Uru trying to get her up. She gets pretty stubborn when she doesn't want to get up. Uru gave up after a few minutes and suddenly pounced on Kovu Jr. She was annoyed that he was so persistent in trying to get her to stop being so lazy. They were wrestling until they were stopped by their Mom.

"What is going on with you two this morning?" Dalila asked.

"Morning she says, try afternoon," Kovu Jr said sarcastically to himself.

"If I were you, I'd watch my tone," Dalila scolded.

"Yes Mom," Kovu Jr said.

"I heard the cubs wrestling, is everything okay?" Kovu asked.

"Everything is just fine Grandpa," Uru said.

"Thats good to hear Uru," Kovu said.

"You two really need to start respecting each other," Dalila said.

"You try being respectful if you had a sister like Uru," Kovu Jr said.

"I myself don't have any siblings," Dalila said.

"Do you wish that you did?" Uru asked.

"Yes I do," Dalila replied.

"Sometimes having a sibling isn't all that its cracked up to be," Kovu said.

"How do you mean Dad?" Sadiki asked.

"When Vitani and I were cubs, she used to pounce on me when I was sleeping," Kovu replied.

"Really?" Dalila asked.

"Yeah, he used to tell me to leave him alone after getting pounced on," Vitani said.

"I should've told Kovu Jr to leave me alone when he was annoying me," Uru said.

"You are just like Vitani," Kovu said to his Grandson.

"And proud of it," Kovu Jr said standing proud with his head held up high.

"Brothers, they get to be so annoying," Uru muttered.

"Hey, I resent that," Kovu Jr scolded.

"I agree with your sister," Dalila said to Kovu Jr.

Uru stuck out her tongue at Kovu Jr only to be reprimanded by her parents. Her eyes were downcast as Kovu Jr decided to go out and explore. Dalila decided to join him. He was happy that his Mom was going out with him. Once they were outside, Kovu Jr asked Dalila where she would like to go.

"I'd like to go to the waterhole," Dalila said.

"Lets go then," Kovu Jr agreed.

Many hours had passed and it was time for the pride to go to bed.

Uru and Kovu Jr were now a year old. Kovu Jr's mane started growing and he started gaining muscles while Uru lost her baby fat and had a thin build like Vitani. She was sure to pass her hunting test and would be eligible for a spot on the hunting party. It was also time for her to start her Queen training with her parents. Kovu Jr felt left out because of not being the future ruler of the Pridelands but he couldn't help but feel happy for Uru. He decided to walk around and see if he could find any females to play with. His luck turned when he saw this beautiful female lioness rogue. She had brown eyes, and golden fur. Kovu Jr just stood where he was as the rogue came up to him. She wondered why he was into her.

"You're beautiful," Kovu Jr said.

"You really think so?" She asked.

"What is your name?" Kovu Jr asked.

"My name is Barika," Barika said.

"Its nice to meet you Barika," Kovu Jr said.

"Likewise," Barika replied.

The two lions walked back to Pride Rock and sat down by the den. Dalila and Sadiki walked out of the den to see Kovu Jr with Barika. They thought she was a beautiful lioness and would make a great addition to the pride and hunting party. Barika was a bit shy around Dalila and Sadiki. Kovu Jr reassured her that they won't hurt her. She was relieved that Dalila and Sadiki wanted to get to know her.

"Who may I ask are you?" Sadiki asked.

"Your Highnesses, my name is Barika," Barika said bowing down to Dalila and Sadiki.

"No need for formalities Barika," Sadiki said.

"My name is Dalila and Sadiki is my King and mate," Dalila introduced.

"Mom, Dad, Zalika, Vitani and Kopa, theres a lioness outside that we'd like you to meet," Sadiki said.

The elderly lions and Zalika came out to greet Barika who was still hiding behind Kovu Jr.

"Don't be afraid, we won't hurt you," Vitani said.

Barika came out from behind Kovu Jr and made her way to the other crowd of lions. She wanted to know who the lioness was that told her she didn't need to be afraid.

"Who are you guys?" Barika asked.

Vitani introduced herself and introduced Zalika, Kiara, Kopa and Kovu. Barika wondered how they were all related.

"Kiara is my sister-in-law, Kopa is my brother-in-law, Zalika and Sadiki are my niece and nephew, you already know Kovu Jr, Uru is his twin sister, and Kovu is my twin brother," Vitani said.

"Are you and Kopa twins Kiara?" Barika asked.

"Yes we are, but we're six months younger than these old farts here," Kiara said indicating Kovu and Vitani.

"I'll show you an old fart," Vitani smirked as she was able to pin Kiara within seconds.

"Vitani!" Kiara exclaimed as Vitani let her up.

"Not bad for an old fart huh?" Vitani asked smugly.

"How old are you guys?" Barika asked.

"Kopa and I are nine and a half years old," Kiara said.

"That would make you and Kovu ten years old," Barika said to Vitani.

"Yeah, its no big deal though," Vitani said.

"We're both six years old," Zalika and Sadiki said.

"I'm older than you two," Dalila said.

"How old are you Mom?" Kovu Jr asked.

"I'm seven years old," Dalila said.

"That makes Kovu and Vitani the oldest in the pride," Kopa said smugly.

"You and Kiara aren't too far from turning ten," Kovu said.

A few hours passed, Uru made her way into the den and introduced herself to Barika. They soon hit it off and would become fast friends. Barika started having feelings for Kovu Jr and he felt the same for her. They would plan to watch the stars every night. Another year has passed and Kovu Jr's mane had grown even longer. Kovu Jr, Uru and Barika were now two years old. Uru was still on the hunting party and Kovu Jr and Barika's romance bloomed into love. Sadiki and Dalila watched as Kovu Jr and Barika were nuzzling. They were proud of the fact that he found love. Uru was jealous that she had no one to love. She decided to take a walk and hope to find love in a rogue like Kovu Jr did. As time passed, a rogue lion found his way to the Pridelands and saw the distressed Uru and decided to get friendly with her. She thought he was handsome. He had a black mane, green eyes and yellow fur. Hasani was the name he introduced himself as.

"Wow," Uru commented.

"My mom named me Hasani because it means handsome," Hasani answered.

"My parents named me Uru," Uru said.

"A well fit name for a future Queen," Hasani replied.

"Oh stop it, you're making me blush," Uru said.

"I can't help it since I'm looking at such a beautiful lioness," Hasani commented.

The time flew by fast as Hasani got to know the other pride members and he started falling for Uru. Kovu Jr and Barika had news to tell them. They decided to become mates. The pride was excited about the news and Uru wanted to have Hasani as her King.

"Hasani, would you be my King?" Uru asked.

"I'd love to be your King," Hasani replied.

A few weeks later, Kovu Jr and Barika were prnounced as mates and Uru and Hasani were crowned the new King and Queen. Dalila and Sadiki were glad to step down and see their daughter and son-in-law take over. They really loved them and hoped that their marriages will last until the end of their lives. As the months passed, Barika and Uru were both pregnant. They were looking forward to becoming Mothers while Kovu Jr and Hasani were looking forward to becoming Fathers. Sadiki and Dalila were looking forward to seeing their Grandchildren. A new era has begun.
