Chapter 3: Shadow’s Second Appearance

The lionesses soon returned with their cubs

“Hey Kitisha!” greeted Mkuu to his friend.

“Hi Mkuu!” she greeted back.

“Want to go to the gorge?” whispered Mkuu.

“Yeah but what will we tell our parents?” asked Kitisha.

“We’ll tell them we’re going near the water hole. After all, the water hole is near the gorge.” Mkuu said.

“Good idea.” Replied Kitisha.

“Mom, can we go to the water hole?” asked Mkuu.

“Sure but be back before sunset.” Answered Foxy.

“Alright! Yeah!” the cubs cheered.

The cubs wandered down south to the gorge. “I’ll race you to the the desert.” Mkuu told Kitisha.

“Fine,” she replied “You’re on.”

“Ready, set, go!” yelled Mkuu.

Kitisha bolted ahead but Mkuu caught up right away. They were inching and inching closer and closer to the desert.

With all her speed, Kitisha tore the grass in a snap and finally made it to the desert.

Mkuu slowly jogged to the desert.

“Beat’cha!” Kitisha laughed.

Mkuu didn’t care.

“So what, I didn’t bet my life on it.” Mkuu said trying not to care.

“Your Uncle did.” Said a voice from far away.

“Who is that?” Mkuu said a bit frightened.

Kitisha hid behind Mkuu for she was frightened too.

Shadow appeared for a second time. He jumped from a rock.

“I don’t have an Uncle.” Defended Mkuu.

“Yes you do. His name was Kasi.” Said Shadow. “What?” Mkuu asked.

“Kasi was your father’s older brother. He was going to be King. He was just a Prince and also top defender. One day, Kasi’s friend Marina was trapped in a stampede here in this gorge. Kasi saved her life, but he was killed.” Shadow explained.

“My father never said I had an Uncle.” Mkuu said.

“Well whaddaya know, you’re unlike your brother.” Shadow said.

“How do you know about my brother?” asked Mkuu.

“Why he was here about an hour ago.” Shadow said. “He tried practicing his roar. It came out almost like a purr. Let’s hear yours.”

“Umm, okay?” Mkuu said. Mkuu roared his best. He growled loudly.

“Let’s hear that again.” Shadow persuaded.

As Mkuu’s mouth opened, a booming roar was heard.

Julian appeared.

“SHADOW!!!!!!” he roared angrily. “STAY AWAY FROM MY LAND!!!!!! YOU DON’T BELONG HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

Julian put the cubs in his mouth and ran. Shadow dashed after him snapping at his tail. Shadow had Julian’s tail in his mouth and pulled back on it.

Obviously Julian was in pain and the cubs flew out of his mouth.

Shadow bit into Julian. He roared in deep pain.

“Kitisha, get the pride I’ll fight him off!” Mkuu ordered.

With a nod of her head she ran.

Mkuu jumped on Shadow’s head and scratched up his eyes and face.

Shadow struck Mkuu firmly.

Mkuu went flying. He landed on the hard ground. He was barely breathing.

“NOOO!!!!!!” Julian cried.

Shadow scared up Julian’s face.

Kitisha returned with the pride and another pride.

They attacked Shadow.

King Kali bit on him stomach and clawed it. Sukari and several other lionesses pounced on him but no one noticed poor Mkuu.

Suddenly, an old baboon appeared.

“Rafiki! Thank goodness you’re here. Tie up the menace.” Kali commanded.

“Of course Kali!” Rafiki answered.

Rafiki got strong vines that were tied up solidly. He tied up Shadow’s mouth and paws. Shadow was squirming around.

The lions carried him into a large ditch that was shallow. They dropped him in.

They returned home.

            Chapter 4: Healing

“Mom! Mkuu’s hurt!” Kitisha and Kifalme cried.

Queen Foxy and Kitisha’s mom hurried to where Mkuu was.

His small body was scraped up.

Foxy nudged her son. He was still barely breathing.

“Julian!” sobbed Foxy “Mkuu’s hurt!”

Julian raced to his son.

“Mkuu?” he whispered in his son’s furry ear.

“Rafiki,” Kali said.

“Yes Kali?” answered Rafiki.

“That cub over there is injured. Gather your herbs and try to heal him.” Kali commanded.

“At once.” Responded Rafiki.

He carried his stick and hopped over to where Mkuu was.

“By the order of King Kali, I must heal your son.” Rafiki told Julian.

Rafiki cracked open one of his coconuts and rolled the liquid all around and mixed up some ground leaves, herbs, and oil. He took a bit of this mixture and placed some on his thumb. He put it over Mkuu’s scars, his eyelids, and his forehead.

Slowly, Mkuu’s eyelids opened.

“Mkuu!” everyone cheered. His father and mother hugged him.

“Wha-what happened?” Mkuu said looking around everywhere.

“Shadow hurt you. But we took care of that and now you’re okay. That’s all that matters.” Julian said hugging his son.

Again, Prince was jealous.

I bet nobody loves me. Prince thought to himself.

He hated his family.

Then, Prince had an idea. A wonderful wicked idea. He chuckled faintly and hurried back to the cave.

            Chapter 5: A Second Attempt

The hunters caught a good meal and everyone ate. All but Prince. Nobody noticed though.

When everyone was in a deep slumber, Prince’s plan began to emerge.

Quickly yet quietly, Prince dashed out of the cave and left back to the water hole. He took a quick sip and continued his journey. He ran through the desert and saw a shadowy area. It was filled with rotting bones and dirty old rocks.

Prince wandered through until a teen cub probably around Mkuu’s age stopped him in his tracks.

He growled and snarled at Prince.

Prince growled back. Again, it came out like a purr.

The teen cub began to chuckle.

“That’s all you got?” the teen cub laughed.

Prince was angry and struck the teens face. The teen slightly yelped in pain and swung a fist at Prince’s jaw.

Suddenly, an old lioness appeared.

“Kiungo! Stop hurting him!” she yelled.

“Sorry Marina.” The cub replied.

“Wait,” Prince interrupted “You’re Marina? Did you know a lion called Kasi?”

“Yes young cub. Who are you anyway?” Marina asked.

“His nephew.” Replied Prince.

“You’re Julian’s boy aren’t you?” Marina said.

“The second Prince of Bora.” Answered Prince.

“Yes, I did know your Uncle very well. We met when we were cubs.”

“Wait, who’s Kasi, Marina?” delayed Kiungo.

“Since this young prince brought it up, it’s time you knew. He’s your father.” Marina revealed.

“Then that means, we’re cousins.” Kiungo and Prince said at the same time.

Prince looked at his cousin.

“You must meet my family!” Prince insisted.

“No, Julian must never know. Nor should your mother or siblings.” Marina said strictly.

“How come?” asked Kiungo.

“It’s complicated Kiungo.” Said Marina “Go play with your cousin now.”

“Okay.” Said Kiungo.

“My father said that Kasi was supposed to be King but since he died, my dad took his place.” Prince said.

“Wait, then that means I have royal blood. I’m going to be King!” Kiungo exclaimed with glee.

“No, that would be my brother Mkuu. He’s older than us. He will be King.” Said Prince.

“Oh.” Said Kiungo. His happiness dropped. “You’re lucky you’re a prince. My life stinks. All I do is starve. I wish I could just run away.”

Prince smirked.

“Really? Same! I’m going to run away to the desert and travel. I’ll be a rouge.” Prince exclaimed.

“Can I come with you?” asked Kiungo. “I know how to go far away and quick.”

“Sure, but I still want to stay in Africa.” Said Prince.

“Maybe we can go up to Mali.” Suggested Kiungo.

“Good idea!” agreed Prince.

The two cubs began their journey.

            Chapter 6: Three Rouges

Kiungo and Prince made their way through the gorge and then slowly pacing in the desert when a weak and scrawny antelope was limping across the sand.

“I’ll get him.” Insisted Kiungo.

He stayed low to the ground and kept silent. He crept closer and closer and then- POUNCED! He stuck his claws in the baby antelope back causing him to fall and squeal. Bloody dripped out slowly as Kiungo dragged the little creature across the sand to his cousin and plopped in in front of him.

“Breakfast is served.” He exclaimed.

“Dig in!” cheered Prince.

“Let’s!” agreed Kiungo. They dug their teeth into the stomach and- I think you’ve heard enough. Basically what happened is that Kiungo and Prince ate stuffed it all down and continued their journey.

They finally reached a warm and wet jungle that had plenty of trees, water and plants. “Let’s swim!” exclaimed Prince as he leaped in. Kiungo joined him and they splashed around until Prince felt something moving around his paws.

“Stop that Kiungo!” said Prince.

“I’m not doing anything.” Kiungo defended.

Prince was confused. He put his head underwater and saw a fish.

“Why it’s a fish!” he said as he bit it and swallowed it whole.

Kiungo started to get hungry after seeing Prince eat so he stuck his head underwater and bit a fish and like his cousin, he swallowed it hole.

Unexpectedly, the two cubs heard a loud splash and then a laugh.

Prince saw a scrawny adolscent lion chuckling in a tree high above. His dark black mane was almost fully grown and his hair was scruffed, blood stained and filthy.

Prince and Kiungo swam over to where they heard the splash.

A teen female lioness Kiungo’s age came out of the lake gasping for breath. Kiungo saw her and it was love at first sight.

“Are you all right?” Kiungo asked.

“I’m fine.” She said slowly. She walked slowly out of the jungle.

Kiungo ran up to her. How could he let love slip out of his paws so quick?

“Hey where are you going?” questioned Kiungo.

“I’m a rouge.” She said “I go everywhere.”

“Really? Same with me and my cousin, Prince.” Kiungo said.

The young lioness stopped running.

“Really?” she asked.

“Really.” Confirmed Kiungo “You can join us. We’re probably going to Mali.”

“I’ll join!” the cub exclaimed.

“Good. So, what’s your name?” asked Kiungo.

“Nyota.” She replied “What’s yours?”

“Kiungo.” He answered “Nyota, my cousin Prince, and I are going to stay in the jungle for a while. Just thought you’d want to know. And who was that lion that pushed you?”

“Some stupid rouge.” She said rolling her eyes. She hated that rouge. He always stalked her.

“Oh,” said Kiungo “Want a fish?”

“Sure! I’m starved.” She answered.

Kiungo jumped in the water making a big splashed that got Nyota’s golden fur wet. He swam around searching for a fish. He saw a huge bass as long as his tail. He bit it and brought it up to Nyota.

Their paws brushed.

“Uh-um” Kiungo didn’t know what to say. He didn’t want to tell Nyota that he liked her. He smirked a bit.

Nyota slowly ate the massive bass.

Prince was furious once again. He secretly liked her too. But, he also liked Kitisha. He knew he didn’t have a chance to be with either of them. Kitisha always played with Mkuu and if they were financed, Kitisha would become Queen. They were both older than him anyway.

No one would want to love me. I’m just a Prince that will never become King. He thought How could she fall in love with that jerk? He wondered.

Kiungo caught a small sardine and as always, swallowed it hole.

Sunrise soon came.

Kiungo walked over to Nyota.

“Let’s escape this jungle and leave Prince here.” Whispered Kiungo.

“How could we do such a thing? How could you leave your cousin here?” she growled.

“Well I thought you didn’t like him!” he replied. “I wanted to make you happy.” He murmured under his breath.

Nyota nudged Kiungo.

“Maybe tomorrow.” She said.

“Good night.” Kiungo said as he licked her muzzle.

She blushed and licked him back.

“Good night.” Nyota whispered back.

Prince was asleep in a tree already.

Kiungo and Nyota found a nice patch of grass. They slept until dawn.

Chapter 7 At Bora:

Back at the Bora Pride, King Julian, Queen Foxy, Prince Mkuu, Princess Kifalme, Prince Kasa, and Princess Feline searched for their youngest brother, Prince.

“Prince!” they called out. There was no response only their echo of sorrow.

“Prince probably went to the gorge again.” Said Kasa. He hopped off to the gorge and slowly walked down its steep hill.

“Kasa! STOP!!” Julian commanded.

Kasa ignored him. He cherished his little brother. Mkuu was always being bossy and he always played with Prince.

Julian bolted up to his son and pulled him back with his colossal sized paw.

Kasa tried to get out of Julian’s firm grasp.

“Father, STOP!” he growled. “I need to find Prince.” Immediately, he got out of the King’s paw and ran to the desert.

King Julian ran after him.

“STOP!!!” he roared.

Kasa kept running and running and started slowing down. He was out of energy. He lied down in the warm sand.

Julian was still far away from his son because of his error in navigating himself through the gorge.

Vultures surrounded Kasa. They flew around in a circle. And Shadow came once again.

   Chapter 8: ‘Ceromony’s’ Rescuer

Kasa had fainted when the vultures were surrounding him therefore, he didn’t know another lion was present.

Shadow scared away the vultures showing his massive teeth and his abusive claws.

“Fuvu!” he called.

A lioness his age appeared.

“Yes Shadow,” she replied.

“We’ve found a new member.” Shadow laughed.

Fuvu grabbed Kasa by the back and carried him to a dark shadowy (not Shadow) land.

Fuvu plopped him in a wooden hollow sphere that was in the center of a cave filled with other lionesses.

As he was plopped in, he awoke.

Filthy lionesses surrounded him. He could not escape.

Fuvu took a strong vine and wrapped it around Kasa’s stomach and the wooden ‘chair’ (using her teeth) so he was stuck there.

He tried clawing the vine then, Fuvu tied his paws together (again with her teeth). He tried biting it so, Fuvu tied a vine around his muzzle.

“He’s prepared. Time for the ‘ceromony’” she chuckled.

The other lionesses roared in agreement.

She took Kasa off the wooden ‘chair’ and carried him in her mouth.

She brought him to the elephant graveyard (which was quite a long journey) where her friend was there to help her.

“Oh Kasim, good you’re here. Get Tamu. The ‘ceromony’ will begin soon.” She laughed.

Kasim nodded his head and went far out to the ‘boneyard’.

“Tamu.” He called.

A large dark furred gorilla appeared.

“What?” he grunted.

“The ‘ceromony’ will begin soon.” Chuckled Kasim. Soon enough, Tamu laughed along with him and they went back to the cave.

“Hello Fuvu.” Tamu greeted.

“Hello Tamu.” Replied Fuvu “Here is the cub.” She dropped Kasa on the hard rock ground. He moaned.

“Oh, shut up you wuss.” Growled Kasim.

Tamu took Kasa and grabbed some sticks. He took two two foot long sticks and placed them around the sides of the ‘cubbie boiler’ and put another stick on top of those.

He tied Kasa to the stick that was being held up.

Slowly, Tamu lowered the rope and Kasa got closer and closer to the scorching lava.

He knew he would his time would come.

Suddenly, Kasa heard a mighty roar.

It was King Kali! He roared again.

“Kasim!” he growled. “You’re killing an innocent cub? How could you!”

“I-uh- um-“ Kasim was struggling with his words.

“SILENCE!!” roared Kali. He bolted, jumped over he lava and grabbed Kasa with his mouth. He tore out of the elephant graveyard and brought him to the Pridelands.

“You’re staying here.” Kali softly commanded.

Kiungo appeared out of the cave.

He growled. “Get out of here! This his my cave! My land (*growl growl growl*)!”

“Your father rescued me and commanded my to stay here.” Defended Kasa.

Rafiki and Kali came out of the cave.

“Why I know you! I healed your elder friend!” exclaimed Rafiki “Kali, this cub lives in the Bora Pride.”

“I’ll take him home.” Said Kali. He grabbed Kasa with his mouth and brought him home.

Julian struck Kali in the jaw making him drop Kasa.

“WHY WOULD YOU CAPTURE THIS CUB!?!?!?!” roared Julian.

“FATHER!” growled Kasa “King Kali saved me!”

“King?” Julian laughed. “He’s an old brute!”

“I’m a KING!” growled Kali. “I rule the Pride lands!”

“Oh,” said Julian softly.

Kali trotted away back home.

“Kasa!” growled Julian.

“Yes Father,” Kasa said softly. He knew he was in DEEP trouble.

“Go in the cave.” Julian said.

Kasa didn’t move.

“NOW!” Julian raged.

Kasa bolted off to the cave and went to the deepest darkest corner and lay down.

The sun was slowly setting as Kasa’s eyes closed at the same pace.

Chapter 8 Rendezvous:

The sun was setting as slow as a snail. Prince slept in the same tree as the night before.

Kiungo nudged Nyota.

“Rendezvous?” asked Kiungo.

She nodded her head.

Kiungo and Nyota slowly tiptoed out of the jungle. They soon started to run quickly and their paws moved rapidly.

Kiungo and Nyota ran out of the jungle and soon reached a small grassland.

Panting, Kiungo and Nyota lied down on the soft grass and relaxed.

“Are you hungry?” Kiungo asked.

“No.” Nyota answered.

All was silent after that.

“Prince, will soon find us. We must go farther.” Said Kiungo.

Nyota agreed and the two adolscents ran.

They went through another desert, kicking the soft warm golden sand (that matched Nyota’s fur) back at the ground. They trotted through a small oasis with an olive colored palm tree that defended you from the blazing sun.

The teenage cubs panted again and relaxed for a bit.

Kiungo kicked the sand. Then he came up with a plan. A good plan. A sharp plan.

            Chapter 9 Prince’s Search:

The searing sun shined on Prince forcing him to awake.

Even though the sun was quite torrid, Prince enjoyed it as it heated his soft fur.

Prince stretched and yawned and hopped off the barky tree.

“Good morning Kiungo, good morning Ny-“ Prince stopped himself from talking. He gasped.

Nyota and Kiungo weren’t there.

“Kiungo!?!?! Nyota?!?!?!?” he called. He didn’t hear a response.

He scampered through the jungle, climbing each tree, sniffing the grass and did everything he could to find his cousin and his crush.

“They must’ve left me here.” He said to himself.

Prince ran out of the tropical jungle and galloped through the scalding desert. He kicked amber sand as he leaped and ran to find the other (older) cubs. Prince was panting and he stopped by an oasis. He drank some of the refreshing water, cleaned his face and “mane” and continued his search.

            Chapter 10 Diggah Tunnah:

“Nyota!” called Kiungo.

“Yes Kiungo,” replied Nyota.

“I got a plan.” He told her.

“Really? What?” Nyota asked.

“We will dig!” exclaimed Kiungo.

Nyota laughed. Kiungo gave her a stern look.

“Oh. You’re serious.” Nyota said.

“Yes.” Answered Kiungo.

Nyota and Kiungo found a good spot to dig. Kiungo’s plan was in motion.

They dug and dug lots.

Nyota started to hum “Diggah Tunnah” and Kiungo joined her and the two cubs harmonized the melody. It sounded quite lovely.

Nyota stopped humming.

“Kiungo, I think I see Prince.” Nyota said.

Kiungo saw him.

“Dig faster!” he commanded.

The cubs dug rapidly.

Prince saw them just barely but still kept walking at the same pace.

By then, Kiungo and Nyota had dug a five foot deep hole and it was less than two feet wide.

“Duck down! Prince is coming!” Kiungo said.

Kiungo and Nyota ducked down and dug quietly. Prince was near and didn’t notice the hole. He walked right pass it.

Prince was soon far off and way past the hole.

Kiungo took a quick glance from the hole. He could no longer see Prince.

“Okay.” He said “It’s clear.”

Kiungo tried to safely crawl back down in the hole but instead fell, causing him to almost kiss Nyota.

She turned her head away and continued to dig.

Kiungo smirked a bit and then went back to digging. He found an old bone and offered it no Nyota. She didn’t want it so Kiungo decided that he would chew on it.

Night came quick once again and Kiungo dug a small spot for Nyota to sleep in. Nyota licked  his muzzle as he lied down on the sand. Nyota cuddled up to him.

Kiungo licked her back and warmed her fur.  Nyota soon sleepily closed her eyes and Kiungo soon closed his.

            Chapter 11 Bora’s Dawn:

Marina awoke to realize her son and Prince were both missing.

“Kiungo?!?! Prince?!?!” she called.

Marina didn’t hear an answer.

“There’s only one thing to do.” She said to herself.

She ran toward the land of Bora and searched for King Julian. Marina found him sleeping in his cave.

“Julian!” she whispered.

Julian moaned.

“Not now Foxy.” He whispered.

“No!” Marina said. “It’s me, Marina.”

Julian awoke.

“Marina!” he said hugging her “I can’t believe you’re here. Why did you come at such an early time?”

“My son Kiungo and your son Prince are both missing.” She blurted.

“What?!” he roared.

“Yes! I tried calling their names and I tried to search for them. I just can’t seem to find them.” She answered.

Julian awoke the pride.

“Prince is missing!” he roared. “We must find my son!”

Everyone ran out of the cave searching for this lost cub.

“Wait,” Julian paused. “You had a son? Who’s his father.” He demanded to know.

Marina sighed. “Kasi.” She answered.

“My brother?”

“Yes.”

“I have a nephew? My cubs have a cousin?”

“Yes Julian. It’s all true. When Kasi saved from the stampede, I was pregnant with Kiungo. Kasi did know that I was pregnant, he didn’t know he would die that day. I knew I would be a disgrace if I came back to the Pride pregnant so I ran off to the Shadow Pride and Kiungo was born safely there.”

“Oh.”

“We must search for the cubs then.”

“Well, Kiungo isn’t exactly a cub. He’s practically a teen now.”

“Oh, and you only told him yesterday who his father was?”

“Well-“

“If I were you I would’ve told him who his father was from the START.”

“But-“

“But what?”

“I didn’t want to tell him that his father was dead!”

“Oh.”

“Yeah!”

Julian walked away and began to search for his son and his nephew.

            Chapter 12 Tunnah Failure:

Julian and his pride bolted through the torrid honey sand, splashed through the oasis and found a hole.

Julian poked his head through with his large red mane getting in his face.

He noticed strange tunnels that he probably couldn’t fit through.

“I’m going in.” Julian told his family.

“Julian get out of there! It will collapse!” Foxy said. She couldn’t let her mate be killed.

“At least I might find my son and or my nephew.” He defended as he crawled through the slim hole.

It smelt rather awful but he still kept crawling through.

Julian suddenly saw a pair of two dark blue eyes. They belonged to a creature of some sort but the creature was smaller than Julian.

“Prince?” he asked.

The creature was stunned and scratched Julian’s muzzle.

Julian was in pain yet still kept searching through the mysterious hole.

The creature tried moving faster and faster.

Sand suddenly fell.

Julian tried to rush out of the tunnel as fast as he could.

Shockingly, he saw a crack of light. He crawled through and saw the creature clearly.

He was a teen lion with brown fur, a black growing mane, and navy blue eyes.

“Who are you?” the lion asked. He sounded quite fierce.

“I’m trying to find my son if you don’t mind.” Julian defended. “The prince.”

“Yeah, I know a prince. He’s my cousin and his name is Prince-“ Julian stopped the teen from talking. He grabbed his neck.

“Prince is MY son!” he growled. “Where is he what did you do with him-“ Then Julian stopped himself. “Your cousin eh?”

“Yeah, what’s it to ya?” the teen replied.

“Then you’re Kiungo! You’re my nephew!” Julian exclaimed hugging the teen. The teen felt really awkward plus his girlfriend was nearby watching the whole thing. Not to mention, she was cracking up. She was laughing more than a hyena.

Kiungo was trying to get out of this “man hug” and finally did.

“Do you know where Prince is?” Julian asked.

“No.” Kiungo answered. “Well, he walked passed this hole and-“

“You didn’t go after him?!” Julian stormed.

“Well, I was-“

“Why did you leave my son?!?!?!” Julian erupted.

“Well, MAYBE I wanted some time ALONE!!” Kiungo defended.

“With who?” Julian said thinking that his nephew wouldn’t have an answer.

“With ME!!” Nyota butted in.

“Oh.” Julian said. “Do you know where he went?”

“He said he was headed toward Mali.” Kiungo responded.

“Mali!? We’re only in Kenya!” He would have to go through, Sudan, Chad, and Niger to reach Mali!” said Julian.

“Well, he’s just a little cub. He probably thought Mali was nearby.” Kiungo suggested.

“He’s not that little. Although, you may be right.” Julian agreed.

“He might’ve gotten lost.” Said Nyota.

“I have a plan.” Julian said. All of the lions crowded around to hear the King’s idea.

     Chapter 13 Cokelat’s Attempt:

The plan was in motion and the lions got to there positions.

Julian, Kasa and Mkuu went North, Foxy, Feline, and Kifalme went South, Kiungo and Nyota went East, and the hunters and Marina went West.

Kiungo and Nyota headed South but soon realized they were going back to the jungle. Obviously, Prince wouldn’t be there. The teens headed there anyway, though didn’t do their job. They splashed in the water, ate fish and other sorts of activities like that.

That same rouge who pushed Nyota in the water was on a high tree watching the other lions.

Secretly, he liked Nyota so he cleaned his mane, smoothly climbed down the tree and (tried) made a good impression to Nyota (well, he thought so).

“Hello, Nyota. Want a fish?” he offered.

“Too late!” Kiungo said with a fish in his mouth. Nyota ate it and licked his muzzle.

The rouge growled angrily.

“What’s your name anyway?” asked Nyota (not caring, she just wanted to know).

“Cokelat.” He answered. “Nyota, can I talk to you alone for a minute?”

“I don’t see why not.” Answered Nyota. The two lions walked off behind the lofty green trees.

Cokelat nearly kissed Nyota, luckily she struck him across the face.

He fell a bled a bit. His eyes and muzzle were scared.

Nyota ran off back to Kiungo and stood next to him.

Kiungo walked toward Cokelat.

“What did you do to her?!?!!” he roared.

“Nothing I just-“ Nyota cut Cokelat off.

“He tried to kiss me!” she defended “So, I struck him!”

Kiungo growled and slashed Cokelat.

He scared up his stomach and bit his back.

Cokelat was weak and barely moving.

“That’s what you get, Dolt!” said Kiungo.

Nyota licked his muzzle and the two walked away from the frail lion.

Chapter 14 “Stay with me Son.”:

Julian and his sons searched for Prince up North. The desert was scalding but the lions still triumphed through to search for young Prince.

Kasa noticed a small grassland up ahead.

“Father! There’s a grassland farther up. Prince might be there!” Kasa exclaimed.

“We will search there Kasa. Be patient.” Julian answered his son.

Kasa raced up ahead. He desired to see his little brother.

He saw his little brother on the ground, barely breathing.

“Father! Prince is barely breathing!” yelled Kasa. Tears fell down slowly and then poured down on to Prince’s fur.

Julian and Mkuu darted to Prince.

Julian put his paw on his passing son.

“Prince!!” he sobbed “Son!! Can you hear me?!? Boys, stay here. I’ll get the Pride wait here.”

“Okay father.” The cubs replied crying.

Julian tore through the desert and rounded up the Pride and his nephew along with Nyota.

The Pride ran with him back to little Prince.

Everyone sobbed especially Foxy. She cuddled up to Julian and the cubs cuddled up to their parents.

“Stay with me Son.” Foxy said still mourning. She knew he wouldn’t survive but she still wanted him to be alive.

Prince jumped up smiling.

“Hi guys! How’s it going! Funny joke huh?” Prince said. He felt very energetic.

Everyone stopped crying and gave Prince a VERY dry look.

He stopped grinning.

Everyone left except Julian. Prince knew he was in deep trouble.

“Son, you put everyone in great danger to  find you and you fake your death?! You should feel deeply ashamed.” Julian said. He was very irateted at his son.

“I’m sorry Dad I-“

“Speak formally! You’re a prince! Say ‘Father’. ‘Dad’ sounds like slang.” Julian commanded.

“Yes, Dad.” Prince said.

Julian was at his boiling point. He bit Prince’s neck and carried him home.

The sun was setting so the Bora Pride went into the cave to sleep.

As Prince was walking into the cave, Julian bit his son’s neck and carried him to a frigid spot near the cave.

“Sleep here.” He commanded.

Prince did as he was told and stayed there.

Julian returned back to his cave to sleep.

“Dear, don’t you think you’re being a bit too harsh on Prince?” said Foxy.

“He must learn to behave. Hopefully he’ll be mature when he’s older.” Julian replied.

Julian and Foxy fell into a deep slumber like the rest of the pride. All but Prince.

He sobbed and sobbed and wanted to run away again. He wanted to sleep in the cave with his family.

Finally, he cried himself to sleep.

Fuvu quietly came and ‘cubnapped’ Prince.

Chapter 15 Another Sacrifice and Yet             Another Hero:

Fuvu carried Prince to her home.

“Shadow!” she said.

Shadow was sharpening his jet black claws against the rock wall causing screechy sounds.

“SHADOW!!” Fuvu yelled.

“Oh yes, darling.” Shadow said.

“We have the sacrifice’s little brother. Get Tamu and we’ll throw another ‘ceromony’.” She laughed.

Shadow laughed as well and ran to get Kasim and Tamu.

“Kasim, Tamu wake up!” he roared.

Kasim and Tamu rubbed their eyes and stretched.

“Oh, hi Shadow.” Kasim greeted as he yawned.

“Another sacrifice?” asked Tamu.

Shadow showed a devilsh smirk and nodded.

The three creatures laughed and returned to where Fuvu was.

She dropped the cub on the frigid hard floor.

He did not awake.

“Well, he’s a tight sleeper.” Said Fuvu.

Tamu stole some strong vines from the Pridelands and tied up little Prince.

Again, he took some sticks and- well you know what he did.

He tied Prince to the top stick and slowly lowered the cub closer and closer to the magma and lava.

Suddenly, Prince awoke.

He climbed on the stick, mugged Tamu, and ripped up the vine that was fastened to his body. He bolted out of the cave and raced to his home.

“After him!” Fuvu commanded.

At once, the lions (and gorilla) dashed after Prince.

Kasim snapped his teeth and nearly bit Prince’s tail.

Instantly, a lion with a dark orange mane (practically brown) and berghandy fur with a muscular body appeared and fought off the other lions. He punched them and scared their faces.

He tore some of Tamu’s face.

He grabbed Prince’s neck and ran toward the Bora lands.

He dropped Prince in the cave and ran.

Prince raced after him.

“Sir?! Who are you?!?” he asked.

The lion paused.

“If I told you I’d be a disgrace.” The lion answered.

“Please sir?” Prince begged.

“Kasi.”
