"But from the ashes of this tragedy is that we raise to pay off the dawn of a new era in which lions and hyenas are together in one great and glorious future!" Scar roared at the lionesses, while walked to the top of the Pride Rock. The hyenas started to jump off the shadows, surrounding the lionesses. "Stay behind me!" Sarafina said to Nala, while the other lionesses protected the cubs, knewing that the hyenas was going to kill them. The lionesses tried to go fast as possibly to the den, the safest place from Pride Rock... until now. When everything calmed down, Scar walked to the lionesses: "Leave this den... now!" "But Scar!" Sarabi said "We have to stay here! Our cubs-" Scar interrupted: "No matter. I'm the king, i can do everything that i want!" "You can't do that!" Tama faced Scar, growling. "Tama, don't!" Her mother said with a worried voice, pulling Tama behind her. "Oh, how cute!" Scar said moking "Looks like someone is trying to be brave..." "Leave our cubs alone, Scar!" Sarafina growled at him. "Then, leave this den NOW!!! Or you all will have a little talk with my friends..." Scar looked back. Then, the lionesses heard the hyena's laughs. The laugh was coming every moment more close, making the cubs scared. "Okay, Scar, okay! But please, i beg you, don't hurt this cubs!" Sarabi replied, before the hyenas enter in the den. "Then, just leave." Scar rolled his eyes. Each lioness picked a cub and walked outside the den, while Nala faced the hyenas, even being scared. "That's the end of our old Pride..."
The lionesses stayed outside. Nala couldn't sleep because horribly thoughts about Scar, the hyenas and Simba, mainly Simba... The lionesses took turns to guard the cubs and themselves. In the middle of the night, it started to rain. Unfortunately, they didn't knew that this was the last time they've saw the fresh rain. "Mommy" Tojo called "Are we going to... to..." The cub not wanted to end the phrase. "... to die?" Kula tried to "help" the friend. "Do not say that, sister!" Chumvi growled to Kula, knewing that Tojo was scared. Tojo began to cry. He didn't want to die, just like his friends. Tojo's mother tried to confort him: "I don't know, son. But everything will be okay... i promise." Tojo felt more calmed and smiled, but not for much time. Nala was next to her mother, looking to the sky. A tear rolled down her check, while she whispered to herself: "Oh, Simba... why you had to go? Why now? Our friends need you... I need you..." "Nala? What's wrong?" Sarafina noticed that her daughter was awake. "Oh, nothing, mom. I've just lost my sleep." Sarafina smiled at her daughter: "I have something that will make you sleep. First, lay your head down..." Nala layed her head down while Sarafina touched Nala's head with the paw.
Close your pretty eyes
It's time to dream
And remember that i'm here
To protect you
The sweet voice of Sarafina made Nala sleep in a few seconds. The other cubs, also awake, started to yawn. The other lionesses tried to help Sarafina.
Don't be afraid
To close your eyes
Because we are here
To protect you
Everything will be fine
Then don't be afraid
To close your pretty eyes
And remember that we're here
To protect you...
The lullaby made the cubs sleep without any problem. However, the adults already knew that live in the Pridelands wasn't going to be easy...
The sun raised in the Pridelands. Sarabi and her hunting group was ready to go. "I'll stay with Nala and the cubs, Sarabi." Sarafina said. "Everyone has to go, even the cubs!" Scar growled "However, they'll have a little talk with me..." "Then, let's go, kids." Sarabi roared. While searching for prey, Uzuri had a talk with the cubs: "Remember, kids: you CAN'T hunt with us." "Why, aunt Uzuri?" Kula asked. "First: you're too young. Second: you'll scare the prey." Uzuri sat down while explaining. "Don't worry, mom! Me and my friends will stay in silence! Right, folks?" Tojo said in joy. "Of course, aunt!" Chumvi and Tama nodded. "Okay, now, hide here!" Sarabi said "We found prey!" The cubs jumped in joy when Sarabi said the word "prey". Then, they ran as fast as possibly to hide. Sarabi had choosen the prey and the lionesses attacked. The cubs watched surprised how the lionesses killed the prey, despite disliking blood. "Dinner is served, kids!" Sarafina said to the cubs. The cubs (mainly Kula) ran to the carcass. But when they was going to eat, they heard laughs. It was the hyenas, those horribly butches... "Hey, that's our prey!" Growled Nala. "Now, it's ours!" One hyena laughed, while hit Nala in the face. "Nala!" Said Sarafina, while ran to her daughter. "Your...!!!" Uzuri growled, while ran to attack the hyenas. "Uzuri, don't! Their group is large! They'll kill you!" Sarabi yelled at Uzuri. "Doesn't matter! They're stealing our prey!" Uzuri was already prepared to jump in the hyenas. "But what about Tojo?!" Sarafina continued. Uzuri stopped when Sarafina said that. She looked back and saw Tojo with a worried face. Uzuri growled to herself and ran to Tojo, hugging him. "Mommy..." Chumvi said "I'm hungry..." "Me too!" Kula cried. "Don't worry." Their mother said. "We'll find food." While walking back to the Pridelands, Sarafina saw a hare and killed it in seconds. She dropped it in the front of the cubs: "Eat and hurry!" The cubs ate fast as they could. At least, they could eat something...
The weeks passed and the Pridelands was every day worse: didn't rain anymore, the water was disappearing and the prey was moving to other places. Pridelands was now knowed by Shadowlands. But one day, Nala noticed that her mother was every day more fat. Curious, Nala came to her mom: "Mommy?" Nala asked. "Yes, my dear?" Sarafina replied. "How can you be every day more fat if there isn't any food?" Nala asked curious. Sarafina giggled when Nala asked her question. "Well, Nala..." Sarafina said "... i think it's time to tell you. I'm... i'm pregant." Nala jumped in joy: "Pregnant?! it means that... that i'll have a little brother!" "Yes, Nala. You will!" Sarafina hugged her daughter. After that, the cubs noticed that Nala was more brave and strong. Then, the day came. At the night, Sarafina layed down in the ground, felling the pain of a birth. Calm, Sarafina hold her pain and said to the cubs: "Cubs, could you leave us for a few minutes? We need to talk about... 'Adult's Stuff'." "But aunt Sarafina..." Tama said. "... the hyenas will kill us if we go too far!" Uzuri nuzzled the little cub. "Don't worry, i'll go to protect you." "Yay, mother!" Tojo jumped in joy.
After walking to a tree and herd Uzuri's stories, Nala sat down in a rock, looking at the Pride Rock's direction. "What's wrong, Nala?" Chumvi said, walking to her. "Chumvi... i'm worried about mother. Her voice, when she said 'Adult's Stuff'... looked like something was wrong." Nala said, not even looking to Chumvi. "Well, she looked normal to me..." Chumvi rolled his eyes. After waiting for a few minutes, Uzuri decided to return to Pride Rock with the cubs. Nala didn't wait for them and ran to the lionesses group, worried. When she came there, she had a big surprise: in her mother's arms had a small, lighter color cub. "Then was that, mom?" Nala purred, walking next to Sarafina. "It was a surprise?" Sarafina licked Nala's head. "Yes, my dear. This is your little brother Mheetu." Nala had tears in her eyes; tears of joy. Looking at her little brother, she licked him, saying softly: "Don't worry, Mheetu. I'll protect you forever..."
New days came and left the Shadowlands. Mheetu, now more older, could finally play with Nala and her friends. One day, Mheetu came to his sister: "Nala!" "What, Mheetu?" Nala smiled. "Who is Simba? Today Tojo and Kula was talking about him..." Nala was surprised with Mheetu's question. "Nala...?" Mheetu called her. "Well Mheetu... Simba was a friend of mine..." Nala sighed. "And where's him?" Mheetu asked again. "... he's dead, Mheetu." Tears rolled down Nala's check. Trying to comfort Nala, Mheetu nuzzling her: "Don't worry, sister! I'm here for you!" With a weak smile, Nala hugged her little brother. Looking to the sky, Nala thinked to herself: "Thanks for sending Simba back to me, Mufasa..." From far, Tojo watched the siblings. Walking back to the cub group, Tama asked him: "Did you call Nala?" Tojo looked back and then to Tama. "Nah. She's with Mheetu. Let them spent more time together." He smiled. "Argh, since Mheetu was born, Nala didn't spen much time with us!" Chumvi growled. Kula giggled: "Chumvi! Are you jealous for Nala?" Chumvi blushed: "N-no, i'm not..." Everyone started to laugh: "Chumvi likes Nala! Chumvi likes Nala!" Ashamed and with tears in his eyes, Chumvi ran away: "I DON'T LIKE HER!!!"
Tama walked at Chumvi, who was crying next to a rock. "Chumvi?" Tama called, approaching him. "What do you want, Tama?" Said Chumvi sobbing. "I... i came here to-" Tama tried to say, but Chumvi interrupted her: "You came here to laugh in my face, right?! I... i don't like Nala! She is... is... just a friend." "No, Chumvi." Tama continued. "I didn't came here to laugh from you. I came here to TALK." "Oh... i'm sorry, Tama." Chumvi blushed. "It's okay, Chumvi. Everyone likes someone in this world. For example: i like you." Tama smiled, licking Chumvi's check. Chumvi blushed once again, now smiling. "Thanks for the comfort, Tama!". Tojo and Kula watched from far. Kula growled: "Grrr! What you brother want with Tama?!" "Jealous! First, you laugh in his face. Now, is all jealous for him!" Laughed Tojo. "Oh, shut up Tojo!" Kula laughed, jumping in him. "Pinned ya!". The four cubs spent the whole afternoon talking, until the night came. Chumvi and Tama sleeped together, as if love surrounded them.
The time passed and the cubs grew up. The boy's hair tuft was now bigger, meaning that their mane was going to appear soon. In one night, Tojo walked at his mother: "Mother? Are you awake?" "Now i am..." Uzuri growled softly. "What do you want?" "I'm thirsty. Can you come with me at the Water Hole?" Tojo begged, making "Lion Eyes". Uzuri smiled: "Okay, Tojo. Let's go." Mother and son walked to the Water Hole. They drank together, until Uzuri herd the hyenas. The hyena's group was large and both mother and cub didn't had much change. "Tojo..." Uzuri said softly. "... hide. Now." Scared, Tojo ran to the taller grass. He couldn't see anything but herd his mother and the hyenas fighting. Quickly, he ran to the Pride Rock: "Sarabi! Sarafina! Anyone!" The lionesses woke up with the screams. "Tojo!" Sarabi said. "What's wrong?" "M-my m-mother... hy-hyenas attacked h-her!" Tojo could barely talk. Sarabi and Sarafina ran to the Water Hole with Tojo, fast as they could. When they reached there, they smelt blood. Tojo's eyes got covered with tears when he saw his mother all scarred, laying down in the ground. "MOTHER!!!" Tojo screamed, running to her. He nuzzled his mother, who was alive. "T-Tojo..." Uzuri could barely talk. "Mother, please... d-don't leave m-me!" Tojo cried, sinking his face into Uzuri's neck. Uzuri slowy raised paw, touching Tojo. "Tojo, l-listen..." Uzuri tried to talk. "... even if you c-can't see me, i'll be a-always here to p-protect y-you." Listening to his mother's words, Tojo licked his mother's face. Weakly, Uzuri looked into Sarabi's eyes and said softly: "Take... good... care... of... of him... Sarabi..." Those was her last words. Slowy closing her eyes, Uzuri left Tojo and her Pride. "Mommy...? MOMMY!!!" Tojo screamed falling above Uzuri's body. He couldn't do anything to bring his mother back to life.
Sarabi and Sarafina returned to the Pride Rock. Tojo was depressed and not wanted to play or talk very much. When the sun was raising, Sarabi talked with him. "Tojo? Already awake?" Sarabi purred. Tojo didn't answer. He probably wanted to be alone. Approaching him, Sarabi asked: "Do you remember your mother's last words?" Tojo looked at Sarabi, still in "mute mode". "Your mother..." Sarabi continued "... said that she was going to be with you forever, right?" "But she isn't!" Tojo growled, with tears in his eyes. Sarabi sighed. "One day you'll understand, Tojo." Sarabi left the cub and lay down back to her sleep. Tojo was confused: how could be her forever with him if she died? "Sarabi..." Tojo walked to her. "... did she say something for you before die?" Sarabi smiled. "Yes, Tojo. She wanted me to take care of you." Sarabi raised and walked at Tojo, licking his head. Tojo smiled a little: his mother was back to him.
The cubs now turned into strong, healthy teens. Unfortunately, Tojo and Chumvi had to leave. When the sun was getting down, Ni, a rogue lion, waited for the younger ones. Nala saw Ni from far and ran to Tojo, Chumvi and Mheetu (now more bigger). "Boys!" Nala said "It's time. Ni is waiting for you." Tojo and Chumvi walked at the bigger lion, with Nala following them. In her mouth, Nala was holding her little brother Mheetu. "Nala, who's this big lion?" Mheetu asked, scared. "His name is Ni. He's an old friend of mine. He'll take care of you, Tojo and Chumvi." Saying this words, Nala dropped Mheetu in the front of Ni. Nuzzling Ni, Nala said: "Take good care of him, Ni!" Ni smiled at his friend and picked Mheetu up. Nala looked one more time to his brother and whispered: "I love you, Mheetu!" Walking away, tears rolled from Nala's eyes. "Nala! Please, don't leave me!" Mheetu cried. "Nala! NALA!!!" Nala didn't turn. "Don't worry, little one." Ni tried to comfort the cub. "We will be back to visit your sister..." Then, the four lions left... to live.
Scar had a new queen: Zira. Despite having Zira as queen, Scar didn't love her. One say, watching the Pride Lands in the Pride Rock top, they had a talk. "I need a heir, Zira. If i didn't, who will rule the Pridelands when i die?!" Scar growled. "I can carry a heir for you if you want, my dear..." Zira nuzzled him. "Let's talk about this later..." Scar smiled. After a few weeks, Zira discovered that she was pregnant with her first cub... Scar's son and heir. Nala noticed that Zira's belly was every day more bigger. She warned the lionesses, who almost entered in panic. If Zira and Scar had a dark soul, what about their cub? The months passed and Zira gave birth to a small and weak cub. "What is THAT?!" Scar roared. "Your son, Scar!" Zira tried to defend her son. "It can't be! I want a healthy and strong heir, not a little rat!" Scar growled, leaving the den. Then continued. "He'll be not showed to the Pridelands. If you have any next cub, it'll be the heir." Zira was sad. How could Scar regect his own son...? Looking at the newborn cub, Zira whispered. "I'll name you Nuka... my little Nuka."
After a long time, Kula and Nala turned into healthy, strong and pretty lionesses. Every day that passed, was more harder to live. At the night, Sarabi reunited all lionesses, except Zira. "We can't hold this anymore! Scar will end killing all of us! We need to do something!" She growled, standing in a rock. "Why won't we attack Scar?!" One lioness suggested. "Never!" Sarabi roared. "The hyenas will end killing us. Nala, you'll leave the Pride Lands at the morning and search for help." Nala nodded to the older lioness. Some lionesses got angry for Sarabi not allowing a attack and the others worried about Nala. Before the sun raised, Nala left the Pride Lands and ran fast as she could. But everything was dead and desert. Nala started to lost her hope and she was hungry, very hungry...
Nala entered in the forest. She had finally found water, something she didn't saw for a long time. After drink water, she felt hunger. Maybe there was prey near? Hidding in the grass, she saw a fat warthog. She stalked him ultil he saw her and ran away. Running fast as she could, her hunt had started. Then, it simply disappeared. "Where it is now?" Thinked her to herself. Then, she saw him: stuck in a tree's root. "It's now!" She thinked again, already jumping in the prey. But then, a golden lion with red mane attacked her...
The rest you already know. (;
