Simba walked slowly down the peak of Pride Rock. He walked under a small tree, past the den, and underneath Priderock's base. There, he saw a desert lion with a chocolate brown stirpe on her forehead, ending just past her front legs. "Zira...", Simba growled. She lay there with a dark brown cub with teal eyes in her paws. "Let me groom my son ALONE", Zira snapped. "Zira, I just came to tell you that the lioneses are out hunting, if you want to come. I could babysit Kuvu for you.", Simba said. "KOVU!!!", Zira yelled. "Zira, what is it you have aginst me?" Zira shook her head solemly. "You had a nice little brat that you and pretty little Nala called the prince. His name was something like Kipa or Kapo, am I not correct?", Zira said with a sneer on  her face. Simba stared at the ground, trying hard not to cry.

Kopa lay snuggled in his father's reddish-brown mane. "Dad, why do stars mean so much to the royal?", Kopa asked his father. Simba sighed. "Kopa, let me tell you something your grandpa once told me. Look at the stars. The great kings and queens from the past are up there. They will always be there to guid you, no matter what. And so will I". "So we'll always be together, right?", Kopa asked, nervously. "Kopa... a king's time as ruler rises and falls like the sun. One day, the sun will set on my side, and rise with you as the new king.", Simba told his son. "Son, I won't always be here for you." Kopa nodded. But he couldn't help hurting a bit at the thought of those words.

Simba sudenly snapped out of his flash back. "Zira, you KNOW what you did was wrong!", Simba roared. "Oh, Simba, Simba, Simba". Zira shook her head as she spoke. "Kopa was cutting deeply into my daughter's life, making her the little princess she wasn't. Luckily, I saved her just in time.", Zira added. Simba gasped. "YOU!" He felt his eyes swell up with tears, and another flashback occured.

Simba watched the two cubs from a far. "Hey, Tani.", Kopa said. "Hey Kop'. What's up?", Vitani replied. Kopa was silent. He pushed Vitani to the ground. Vitani stared into Kopa's eyes. They leaned in and kissed. Vitani blushed as she got off Kopa. She gave Kopa a tiny lick on the cheek. "Wanna' play?", Kopa asked. "Play? By that do you mean 'fight'? Shoosh yeah!", Vitani replied. She crouched down slung her bangs out of her eyes and growled. Kopa laughed, then did the same. Vitani jumped on Kopa and playfully bit his ear. Kopa smiled. "Is that all you got!?" Kopa said. Vitani smiled. "Nope." Vitani hopped off Kopa and pulled his tail, then shoved him about a foot away. She walked slowly torwards him and  did a little cub roar. She chased him around in cirlces, then tackled him. "Ahhh!", Kopa yelled. Vitani giggled. "Told ya'", she said.

Simba look angrily at Zira again. "Nuka was his friend too. Another reason I killed him.", Zira said. Simba's eyes grew wide. He shook his head.

Zira slashed Kopa. Blood everywhere. She through Kopa off a cliff and roared triumphintly. "Good job, my dear mate.", she heard Scar's spirit say.

Simba looked down at Kovu. "Well, don't come crying to me when your family is exiled.", Simba said. "Oh, we won't be going ANYWHERE.", Zira replied. Simba gasped. "You know what Zira? All you've ever done is brag about your fancy little son and how he's going to take over someday. Thanks to you, Kiara won't even come out, cause she can see the outlands from here. All those bad memories you gave her would do the trick. I should know." Zira stood, leaving Kovu on the ground in front of her. She let her paw tear across Simba's face, knocking him to the ground. Simba roared. Nala then walked up to the two. "What's going on here?" she asked. Simba lifted his head slowly as tears streamed down his face. It mixed with the blood on his face. He hardly ever cried.

Nala walked into the den, only to find Kiara playing around with a small blue butterfly. "Kiara, there's something I need to tell you." "Yes, mommy?" "Kiara......... there's no easy way that I can put this. So i'm just gonna throw it out there and see what happends." She sighed. "Kiara, Kopa is... dead." Kiara choked at the thought of those words. "Kopa's d-d-d-dead?" she repeated. "Yes, sweetie. He's gone. Gone forever." She pulled Kiara close as her daughter sobbed in pain. "It can't be true!" she said in between heavy breaths. Tears streamed down Nala's face as well. "It is, baby. It is." Kiara screamed. She heaved as the ammount of tears subsided. Soon, her eyes were only watering. She had cried herself into a cramp in her side. She had an empty feeling inside the pit of her stomach, and heart, as well. She ran to her room in depression.

As Simba and Nala walked back to Priderock, Nala stooped to glare at Kopa's grave. It pained her, too. Well, they might have been a broken family, but everything was going to be okay, still. Atleast for now...
